The Geist freshling that showed up for the meeting was
adorable all blacks and reds and big, big eyes. Big eyes that told Mariette that Mana was already feeling super shy and nervous. The flares of their tendrils just helped to confirm Mari's suspicion about nerves. As the geist approached, Mari squatted to sit on her heels, bringing herself down to Mana's level and smiled. It was a good thing she had big ears, because he had a small voice.
"I sure am. You must be Mana, it's very nice to meet you!" She tried to inject excitement without raising her voice too much; being loud around someone quiet could easily turn them off from talking. "You can call me Mari if you like." She held out her hand for a handshake, thinking a hug would be a little too familiar on a first meeting.
"This is my first time being a Big Sibling, and I'm really looking forward to getting to know you. I asked to meet you outside because I like the outdoors, and thought maybe we could play a few games out here, or even just chat and get to know each other. But if you feel more comfortable somewhere else, just let me know, okay?"
She so wanted this to be a success, and she hoped she wasn't overwhelming the Geist. She smiled kindly at them and held her tongue, allowing Mana to answer without bombarding them with all of the questions.
