Background Airhine was raised by her parents. Along with her older sister, Renge, the small family has lived with a Dryad family since before either girl was born. The dryad family's son, Narra, has become the girls' big brother and the three children are intrinsically bound by their love for one another.
Being raised in a mixed household of two families, Airhine is a bit perplexed when it comes to races that don't mingle much with others. Indeed, learning about the war had affected her immensely. As a fey, she knew that they would want to help all and to find that their houses were burned for it, with only the dryads coming to their rescue, had shaken the ideal: that all could and did live peacefully as she did with her fey and dryad family. What her family thought might make her more cautious or even resentful had only made her more determined to be helpful and kind. She loves being a fey and she wants other races to know that fey are wonderful. This actually led to her making a proclamation at a young age that she wanted to go to Below, to see it for herself. When reminded of the races and past war, Airhine remained steadfast and proclaimed, honestly, that she had no fear or dislike for the other races, quite the opposite, she was very excited to meet them and believes they'll be just remarkable (regardless of what history has said). Such a proclamation had, of course, made Renge insistent on going down first and not to be outdone, Narra went down first to make sure it was safe enough for his little sisters.
Once Below was deemed safe and after finishing her junior studies (and growing up just a little bit), Airhine has followed in her siblings steps -- at least in going to Below. A senior in Arkham academy, she has brief wonderings if she shouldn't be doing something more serious like her siblings (Narra's in medicine, Renge has discussed both sociology and psychology) but she is happy in her art-encouraging house. Art can and does make others happy which is her main goal. As for what she'll do once she gets to university, she still has time to figure that out. She varies from day to day, sometimes hour to hour, about a future in botany or being an artist but then it might be nice to be a lawyer to help others but it's very lovely to dance and, oh, wouldn't it be neat to be in the wings of a theater providing support to actors...

Personality Airhine is a very happy and compassionate fey. The youngest of two fey sisters, she has been protected and spoiled, by not only her older sister, Renge, but their big brother, Narra. This has provided her a security that allows her to focus more on others and doing whatever she can to achieve their happiness. Indeed nothing makes her happier than when others are happy and while others can see this for the detriment it can be, she cannot. As well, she, unable to quite comprehend the want to hurt others (she knows there are those who want to, knows what it means, but she doesn't want that ever and thus finds it extremely hard to wrap her head around such ideas), has a terrible time understanding when someone is joking or misleading her. She believes the best in everyone, deserving of it or not. This isn't to say that Airhine isn't able to care for herself, even Narra and Renge know their little lamb has a spine of steel and a resilient heart.
Of course, no one is perfect. Airhine's desire to help others often leads to impulsive decisions and a, sometimes, alarming tendency to be self-sacrificing. She is rather blind to the latter due to the fact that she never feels she sacrifices anything because another's happiness makes her happy, too. This fixation on happiness can, of course, be an extreme hardship on her in times of crisis. Which is when she often drowns herself in art and attaches herself to her siblings. Such bursts tend to pass fairly quickly once she can find something to do that, in her hope, will help someone else. Thus far the innate desire to help others hasn't led to an outright neglect of herself and so her relatives don't mind encouraging her (within reason).
Positive: Compassionate - A bleeding heart, Airhine has always been concerned for others. She wants them to be happy and have the best. It can lead her to do small things such as offering a token or treat to allowing someone to have something she holds dear. (When she was young, a plush her brother had made her, was lost. It was eventually found in a small dryad's possession and her compassion and empathy relinquished her toy to the dryad for it made them happy.) Happy - Smiles and laughter are the usual demeanor for this fey; she has a very upbeat outlook and her happiness can be infectious (it can also be grating, depending on her company). She believes that every day is a good day and she'd like to share hers. Resilient - The gift of happiness and of kindness is not always eagerly or at all accepted, which Airhine has seen although she still doesn't understand it. However, she is steadfast in her beliefs and does not crumble when things go differently. She just tries again, with renewed determination.
Negative: Impulsive - The desire to help others can lead Airhine to do things without thinking them through. It was far worse when she was younger but sometimes the idea of failing someone overwhelms her ability to slow down and she makes decisions rashly because of it. Naive - A belief in kindness and having lived a life in a loving family, she has a tendency not to understand when someone is teasing her. Crocodile tears look just the same as real tears and she doesn't tend to see the bad in others which makes her a fine mark. The more experience she has in life, the more aware she becomes, but she'd rather be made to look a fool than hurt someone. Self-Sacrificing - A trait that she doesn't tend to notice even as she, without thought, offers anything she can to others. She values others over herself without realizing she is doing so and while it has yet to take a turn for the worse, it's good that she has vigilant family members near.

Prompt: Your Nightmare sees an abandoned plushie sitting on the ground by a tree in the courtyard. It looks nearly new and kind of expensive! What does your Nightmare do after they notice it?
Response: “Draw a—“ Airhine lifted her eyes to the large, willow tree in the courtyard. The assignment might be to draw a tree but she was an Arkham student. A simple tree would never do. No, she’d have to do more than that. What that something more was, well, she hadn’t quite figured that out yet.
She slid the assignment in-between the few remaining pages of her sketchbook—she’d need to ask about a new one soon—and made a quick check that she had her colors secured in her messenger bag before turning her eyes, once more to the tree. It was pretty. Long, slender leaves that curled down like an umbrella provided everlasting shade (not that there was a great need of it, here) or cover. She supposed she could… No, that was too easy. She'd need to do something more. What that something more was, well, she hadn’t quite figured that out yet.
As the fey ducked her head to pass under the overhanging branches, a faint sparkle caught her eye from the shadows near the tree’s trunk. Curious, she let her messenger bag drop to the ground and moved further under the fluttering leaves. It was with tentative hands that she reached out to find cool, soft velvet. A plushie; it had been left, forgotten or abandoned, lying on its side in the crook of the willow’s roots. Airhine frowned.
It wasn’t just any old plush; no, as she lifted it ever so carefully she could see how seamless it had been sown. Nothing like the rougher stitches of the plush Narra had made her so long ago. And that wasn’t all that was different. Shifting it so that she could see the exquisite face, the fey gasped. Blue, tranquil and sparkling as the daytime sky of Above, gems were delicately but securely stitched to serve as eyes. A dark jewel that was pitch black—like ashes, her mind whispered—was attached at the top of a rounder, fuller part of fabric to suggest a button nose. Neither feature was quite as spectacular as the strand of blushing coral gemstones that lined up in a smile. And even then there were more, albeit less colorful, jewels threaded along the crown and wrists and neck of the plush. Whoever owned it was surely missing it, even as she wondered how anyone could imagine taking it outside without being paralyzed by a fear of dirtying or damaging it.
There was only one thing to do, much as she could’ve sat there for hours just letting her fingers skim the fabric—it was so soft. She’d have to find the owner. Much easier said than done; its value was easily apparent and she had to acknowledge someone might claim it just because of its expense, or even its beauty, which meant she’d have to be careful. She laughed, she was much too honest. She’d accidentally give it to the first person who cried.
The Arkham officials might be able to handle it. She could turn it into the Lost and Found. But then, while she trusted them, they may not see it as important. Just as her own lost plush had never seemed as important to the adults as it was to her—she’d been so small and Narra had spent so much time on it—and she hesitated to hand it over to someone, anyone, else. What was it they said about lost pets? Oh, one was always supposed to leave off some special identifying detail in case someone just wanted the reward. And she couldn’t allow that to happen. Someone would be missing this, terribly so. She’d have to make sure the real owner got it back which may mean leaving a few details obscure.
Airhine stood, turning to emerge from the shade of the willow, and picked up her bag. Carefully she placed the plush into her bag and draped the flap over top. She’d head back to her room, sketch the plush for a poster to place on the frequent cork boards that were stuck with notices, and then decide which details were pertinent but not overly sharing. (She’d have to ask Renge and Narra for advice on that.) Until then she’d have to be careful not to bring it up. As much as she wanted to find the owner, outright asking those around her might lead her to give it to the wrong person. Which in this case would be bad, indeed, if they found out their plush had been found and given to the wrong person… She could imagine the upset and the tears that knowledge would cause.
It was early the next day that the fey pinned a copied sketch to a bulletin board. The plush, colorless, had been sketched and it'd be up to the owner to tell her what colors (if any) were on it. This was the last board she had time to visit before her art class, where her tree assignment was due. She turned to go, smiling as she wondered what her teacher and classmates would think of her drawing. It had started out a weeping willow then morphed into a tree that grew plushies, each with a tag that named its future owner. She hoped, soon, the lost plush would be reunited with its owner.
