The tall Grimm was feeling a little jittery - a somewhat humorous sight for an outsider, perhaps. Ever since she'd entered the Academy, Rajani had loved to be around younger children, especially Freshling age ones. She'd assisted caretakers in playrooms and club activities, and finally had gotten Big Sibling certification. She really wanted to take as many smaller kids under her metaphorical wing as she could, but the teachers insisted she start out with one child.
Supposedly one such Freshling had finally been picked from the program for her, and now they were to be introduced to one another, hence her nerves. What if she scared them with her height? Some kids occasionally called her a giant and it made her a bit self-conscious, but at least that made for awesome piggy-back rides in their opinion?
As not that many children knew sign language at a young age - or the rest of the student body, for that matter - she'd grown into the habit of carrying a notebook with her for the sole purpose of communication. She and her conversational partner could write to each other what they wanted to say, as she could neither hear nor speak. She was relatively good at reading lips, but it wasn't a very reliable way of conversing..
Claws tapped against one another as she waited in the quiet play room for the caretaker to return with her new Little Sibling.
