It had taken legwork, but Elpis had managed it. A couple loaves of bread, a few bags of jerky. While unsure of his dietary needs, the senshi had, discreetly, gotten her hands on vegetables, fruits, and then had taken time to bake cupcakes before making a soup, all finding way into plastic bags, joined on her arms by a pair of six packs of bottled water, and finally, a blanket round her shoulders. Elpis doubted it enough, but she was going to at least try keeping Caedus supplied and looked after, and she hoped it helped, the Super Senshi creeping to the meeting point with the supplies slowly as she hummed a bit, and nodded. "Caedus, if you're awake, I brought you some things to try helping you while you're here, if that's okay!" The senshi called gently. Somehow, she doubted sneaking up on him was wise.

The warning was appreciated; Caedus was still jumpy, but having an announcement gave him time to collect himself. He stirred, from the shadows beneath some trees; while they did not permit him with the best vantage point, they were enough to shield him from the cold winds that blew over the hill. He did not rush to make himself visible, but he called back, in the same tired, gravely voice, "I am awake." He seemed to recognize Elpis immediately and was more relaxed with just her than the whole group. She had tried to befriend and reassure him, and that was not so soon forgotten. He eyed the things she offered to bring and even with his expression hidden, he was clearly surprised. "You are stronger than you look. You brought all that for me?"

"I carry heavy things all the time." Elpis smiled, and sat nearby, beginning to unpack. "And yes. I promised, right? Or at least said I would. I meant it - I hope that's alright. I bought some vegetables, fruit - anything with meat is dried so it doesn't keep, and I bought a blanket and made you some soup." Elpis rattled off, somehow rapid and slowly, offering Caedus a warm smile. "Working on energy collecting - so far just my own, but I might look into some volunteers soon, if any. But I wanted to make sure you're cared for too." He was a guest, Elpis thought. Guests deserved to be treated well, especially one whom was so homesick. So betrayed.

"I suppose you did," he said, watching her. He seemed interested in everything she was doing—partially because it was something new, and partially because he was still trying to understand how she could be so kind to him. "The energy is the most important. But I am grateful for all of this, as well. I did not realize I was so hungry until after the meeting. I did not ration myself at all." He shifted positions, folding his arms across his chest and hiding beneath his robe. "What did you say your name was? Forgive me. The meeting was hectic. I remember your face, and your words. But I do not remember your name."

"I believe it. I work from home for now. Graduated a technical school, got into building computers for people. I forget to eat - I guess not the same? But once you notice hunger it's brutal. Moreso I imagine in your case." Elpis nodded understandingly, before thinking, and bowing her head respectfully. "Super Sailor Elpis, a pleasure to meet you again." She greeted, and settled. "So... Does your home have many machines? Or would you prefer not to discuss home?" Admittedly, she was curious only because he seemed to long for home, and talking might do him good to feel less sad... Or, it might do ill. She didn't know, and the Senshi wasn't going to force anything. She just wanted him cared for, too.

He nodded absentmindedly when she offered her name; he intend to remember it. When she mentioned his home, his head lifted a bit higher, and he talked a bit smoother. "I have no issue with discussing my home. We have many machines, there. We require very specific calculations and operations to occur to ensure our habitat remains livable. But we also utilize crystals. They have a very unique magical nature to them. Crystals from all over the galaxy, the universe, each with different properties. We are learning new things every day. How to better our planet and ourselves. But being technologically adequate is almost certainly a necessity."

Elpis was impressed by the description, and smiled as he seemed to cheer a bit, the senshi beaming. "I don't know much about crystals but. I do know machinery here. Ours doesn't keep the planet going, but it does help keep commerce, and help people communicate or relax." She nodded, a warm grin on her face. "Your home... I don't blame you for wanting to go back. It sounds amazing." Better than the cold, dead, unsettling atmosphere of hers - the ruins, the plant overgrowth, the silence... All of it unsettled the senshi. "I wonder though - if so many live there, how is it not alive?"

"Because we made it," he tried to explain. "…I understand this seems to be a difficult concept, but we are very advanced life forms." Not advanced enough to create a self-sustaining planet, it seemed, but apparently 'advanced enough'. "There is a very long, ancient history for my people. But when you need to survive, you always find a way. Or," he shrugged. "You do not. But we are persistent, durable people. Many components went into the construction of our planet. In a way, it is a machine. But it is very complex. It is so much more than that. It is 'alive' in the respect that many live on it, but it can feel no pain. What of it that gets destroyed can be rebuilt. We can improve. We can recharge it when it weakens. We maintain it."

"Ah, but that makes sense. Both advancement and what your describing." Elpis smiled. "But, I guess I might be mechanically minded. To me it sounds not like a homeword like a senshi has but a mutual form of survival based on mechanicak and organic needs, not simply magical needs. Systems can fail, and trust me I've had computers that should work fail. But - this might be just my belief of machines - the least likely configurations can also survive. It's possible that it's alive the same way a self aware AI is, instead of a natural organic being it. Just a theory, though." Elpis smiled, chuckling. "Elpis - the place I got - isn't as interesting I'm afraid. Plants all over, and a lot of ruins, but it's - creepy. Sometime I'd love to learn more about you and your people, by the way." She did. He was interesting and while the technology differed, it meant she could talk computers with someone powered without feeling awkward. Hopefully, anyhow.

Caedus listened to Elpis as she spoke, and he seemed amused but did not interrupt or counter her thoughts. "I think plants are interesting. I think all of it is interesting. Crystals especially. And technology. I wish I could see more of the technology of this world." He glanced at the city in the distance. "I wish I could see what it is like. But there is no way I could walk among you. Perhaps another time," he sighed. "Cities did not look like this, on Earth, when I last walked it. I would like very much to see how far you have advanced. I cannot wait to see how much my planet has advanced." He seemed wistful, dreamy almost. "Perhaps I will return and tell you all about it."

"I'd like that, very much." Elpis smiled, then seemed to light up with an idea, eyes fkashing. "I might be able to show you a portable computer, next time, if you would like? We have many kinds, but I think I can bring my laptop. It's a good example, and if I can check this area for wifi..." Mind, she did wonder if Caedus would want to try the Internet, or if he could read English, but petty details could be fussed over later, after all. "If I can work out how, I can also bring a phone or - something." Her civilian phone - maybe. If he was interested at all. "Do you collect crystals without function? I heard of a few places that might have pretty ones to look at, if you like?"

Caedus seemed perplexed with the word 'wifi', and seemed like he was ready to ask about the other technology as soon as she mentioned crystals. "I do," he immediately answered. "I collect all crystals. Even though most Earth Crystals are not magical, they are some of my favorite to look at. I have not found any other planet that has such a variety in one place. I have only found a few since I have been here, though." He dug through his pockets and withdrew three very plain looking items: A gray rock that was probably only talc, a misty white crystal, almost certainly a small piece of quartz, and a bottle cap. He paused when he noticed he had pulled out the bottle cap, shrugged, and put them all back into his pocket. "It was interesting," he confessed. "I like interesting things. But then, I suppose, everything is interesting after a thousand years."

Elpis perked, beaming brightly. "I know some places that sell crystals in town. All sorts of nice stones - I can try getting some for you?" She offered. She smiled at the bottle cap as well, not bothered at all - after all, his world would likely fascinate her equally, she figured; and the Senshi felt it fair. "Nothing wrong with finding things interesting. That's why I meddle with computers. That and the games they can let me play." She chuckled sheepishly. "Do you have any games at home? Anything to do for pleasure?"

Caedus debated for a moment and then nodded. "If you are offering to find me more crystals, I would appreciate it. If it is not too much to ask for. It is neither for sustenance or to achieve my goal, though. It is excessive and I do not wish to intrude." The crystals were unnecessary; they were simply something he liked. He doubted they could in any way aid him. He just liked them. "We have games. Games keep the mind fresh. But we find our pleasure in many ways. Mostly through research. We like to learn. And create. But mostly we work."

"It's no trouble, nor intrusion. You needn't just feel idle while we're out working. Besides, people do all kinds of neat things in art with some, I'm told." Elpis smiled happily. Such as a jade eastern dragon Mo-her mother sent for her birthday. Very lovely. And perched on her computer looking quite vicious. "So if I'm right," Elpis admitted, "Your home is where I'd go for some peace and quiet and to do some research into tech or similar myself. Or try, if I knew how. Man... No wonder you're homesick. That's the neatest place I heard of. Though uh, I admit, I like reading, science, that sort of thing. I went to school to work on two fields of study at once. Just no technical schools nearby to go further." Elpis was beaming, and nodded. "Well - is there anything about Earth you'd like to know?" She idly pulled the crystal out and pulled a glove off to roll it in her hands eagerly. It wasn't so much as move to say she was bored - but five minutes working on it wouldn't hurt. It was how she killed time lately, and the fact it could put her out was really tempting the nights her chat group just didn't die down.
