Ruelash had been walking along, minding his own business on his way to Iroia (and Votzhem's he supposed) village. He knew of some great hunting grounds and wanted to share them with his packmate. He knew she was busy - the kids and all - but surely she could spend some time with him, hunting, like they did? He was pretty sure she would. His mood was pleasantly anticipatory... until he caught sight of her.
That Alkidike. The one that had stolen his blades. He vaguely noticed Votzhem and the little girl - the Alkidike took his full attention. His new blades came out easily from their sheathes, and he crouched behind some brush,
She was a tough opponent, and would likely not hesitate to attack. Why was she here? What was she doing? Ruelash didn't bother with those questions - he was not hesitating either.
He pounced from the bushes, blades out, aiming for the kill.

Kaalnia had been enjoying their walk. She was supposed to be helping Votzhem teach his kid how to hunt, but she spent most of the time flouncing on ahead, coming back, and teasing them for being so slow. Also, making funny faces at Volkarosh to see what would make her laugh. It was fun.
Though Kaalnia hadn't been expecting the sudden onset of her nightmare, she was adept enough to – the moment she sensed danger – to tap into Aisha's strength and dodge out of the way, her eyes widening as she saw... him. ”You!” she snarled, good mood gone, her spear cutting into Ruelash with a fast swipe.
”Oh no!” Votzhem cried, grabbing his daughter before she could get in the middle of them. ”You two, stop it!” But he knew that his plea fell on deaf ears...

And he had an idea. "Volka," he whispered, "Get some snow. Make some snowballs. NOW."
The little girl did as she was told, stunned by the violence before her into complete obedience...

Kaalnia punched the Aldabuck out of the way and felt the ice chill her as she dodged away from it. The chill spread, magic borne, and she called upon Aisha's might again.
The warmth of the jungle flowed through her, chasing away the chill of Zena, and she attacked, furiously.
"All the snow you can, Vol!" Votzhem said to his daughter desperately, "Okay, now do this." he started to form snowballs - ranged weapons that surely would grab their attention, "... and throw on my mark!"
