Normally Muninn tended to be a night owl. It was easier to see, the light didn’t hurt his eyes and he could see things sharper. During the day everything was fuzzy and his eyes hurt especially the earlier in the day it was, although right after noon was pretty bad too. However apparently his familiars didn’t like that he was a hermit for lack of a better word and they had bullied him until he was currently walking around the park. Luckily he had remembered his shades this time getting stranded in a hallway and having to ask for help was a bit embarrassing. It also wasn’t really a park either but Muninn liked to call it that, it was a section of the school grounds that had been made up to a nice little garden and park like area for the students that liked to run or if they had larger familiars that they had to run. You couldn’t leave the school unless you were older or had a big sibling after all. Then of course Muninn thought the forbidden thought which was that the day was turning out to be quiet nice. So he had no one to blame but himself for what happened next. Dvallinn had decided that he was going to be a butt like usual and flew off somewhere. Considering Dvalinn was a rather large butt when he put his mind to it, Muninn had to go find him before the Cockatriel bit someone and Munnn got in trouble… again. Of couse the scene he suddenly ran into shouldn’t have surprised him at all, considering Dvalinn was in the midst of bothering some poor freshling’s familiar. “ahhh I should have taken mom’s suggestion and gotten nezubats. DVALINN STOP HARASSING THE POOR ANIMAL NOW” yep… nothing. With a sharp whistle from muninn, a blue and green blur tackled dvalinn over to the side, well thats not exactly what he was hoping for but at least Dvalinn was squalling with Migard instead of getting muninn in trouble for attacking familiars. “Muninn is…. Sooo…. Sorry. Is your familiar okay?”

Jaden was out walking his familiars. All three needed a lot of exercise, so whenever he had free time he was usually outdoors. Probably a good thing, otherwise he might have become a total shut in. Sprinkles was sticking close at they usually did, running off to sniff something here and there before returning back to the young hybrid. Blueberry had run off, and after a bit of hesitation Cream had gone tearing after her. Jaden didn't worry about it too much. Blueberry liked to go her own way, and she always seemed to know when the walk was about to end cause she'd inevitably show up as soon as he was ready to go back inside. Jaden was going along in a random directing, mind wandering towards his classes and worrying if his performance was satisfying the teachers. Then several shrill cries broke the silence. He jumped in panic and started running in the direction of the sound. Up ahead there was a blur of fur and colors. He recognized the shrill quality of the squeaky yips as coming from Blueberry. They didn't sound like pain cries though. More like whenever someone tried to pick her up despite clear body language showing she wasn't interested, only magnified more than Jaden had ever heard it before. Shouting filled the air. Jaden looked around, and noticed another freshling looking at Blueberry and yelling. Then they made a shrill sound that was as loud as anything Blueberry had ever produced. A speck of color suddenly flew towards the conflict zone, hit something, and a new squabble started. Jaden was close enough now to recognize a pair of cockatriels. He could guess what happened. Cockatriels tended to be a bit territorial, and Blueberry had probably upset it. She could be a bit entitled and didn't believe there was any place truly off limits to her. Meanwhile Cream was dancing around the entire group, emitting several muffled squeaks of excitement. Jaden scooped him up and started petting him to get him to settle. 'Muninn is…. Sooo…. Sorry. Is your familiar okay?'Jaden looked up and noticed the freshling was much closer now. He smiled shyly at them. "I think so. Blueberry is quick and super fluffy." He set Cream down, who immediately run up to Blueberry and started snuffling her. Jaden followed and carefully picked Blueberry up. She made a dissatisfied sound, clearly still in fight mode, but tolerated it as Jaden looked her over. He looked back at the freshling as he set her down. "She's fine. What about your familiars? Blueberry nips sometimes if she's really mad."

Training familiars was always hard work, but his mom was really good when it came to nezubats and somehow Muninn had managed to train cockatriels. Well to be honest Yggdrasil and Midgard where abnormally sweet. He paused in his thinking as he stared at the fight between two of his familiars. Well Midgard was normally pretty sweet. They often acted like a seeing eye bird since Muninn had trouble seeing during the day. He’d never make it in above if what they said was true and it was way brighter than below. The noise he made was often the one used for distress. Midgard had identified the problem alright but Muninn hadn’t wanted to start a fight between his two familiars. Seeing that Dvalinn was staying still, Muninn lightly grabbed him, rolling his eyes when Dvalinn tried to bite him. He had taken to wearing thick special gloves whenever he went out with more than one of them. It was then that his mind registered that there was another person nearby and he instantly shut his left eye. He had become quite self-conscious about them lately. While he couldn’t hide the star shine and the star pupil some people didn’t really notice. However they definitely noticed the eye he closed as it had two irises. Migard made a chirp and seeing that Dvalinn was mostly contained, hoped up to his shoulder perch and knocked muninn out of his thinking. Ah he really needed to stop being so scatterbrained lately. Maybe it was because he was feeling a bit homesick. No… Muninn concentrate, after all he had to make sure Dvalinn hadn’t done anything horrible. “That’s good. Dvalinn can be a bit of a butt. Munnin didn’t think he was going to fly off like that. Oh they’re both fine. Dvalinn is Diva enough if he got injured we’d be hearing about. Dvalinn stop trying to bite me it’s not going to work. Migard is pretty quick and seems to be okay. He’s used to breaking up fights by now. Still I'm really sorry about that”

It took Jaden a moment to understand what the freshling was saying. Was Muninn another person? It sounded like it. Maybe they couldn't run fast, or they didn't have wings, and that's why they sent this freshling after the runaway cockatriels instead of going themselves. He was pretty sure the other names were the names of the cockatriels, though he hadn't gotten close enough to have seen which one was which. If he had to guess though, Dvalinn was the bitey one in the freshling's hands. "It's fine. Blueberry is a bit of a diva herself. She thinks everything she likes belongs to her. She probably tried to claim whatever your cockatriel was perching on," he said, smiling a little as he looked down at the blue/purple familiar who seemed utterly unrepentant and was busy grooming imaginary tangles out of her fur.

“Knowing Dvalinn it was probably Blueberry herself… Muninn... ah no my dad has a fennekit back home that lets muninn’s birds sit on them. It’s a bad habbit Mu- I… haven’t fixed yet” Muninn commented back struggling with trying to stay first person. Still if he hadnt lost sight of Dvalinn. He still had a lot of way to go training wise and it caused Muninn to lower his head a bit in shame. However there was another note of interest that brought muninn out of his funk. He had been looking at the other freshling with both his eyes open this whole time. The hybrid in front of him hadn’t said anything. It was in a way refreshing. Of course the safety of their familiars had come first but… still… “Ah… muninn is, I mean I’m Muninn by the way” he finally decided to say. If Jaden really didn’t care if he was a mutant it would be nice to at least have a few more acquaintances that didn’t care. Sure he wasn’t the strangest mutant in his family or even the school but it really didn’t stop the bullies all that much. He nervously tugged at the sleeves of his sweater.

"Oh," was all Jaden said. He blinked and was silent for a moment as he processed that. So Muninn used his own name when talking about himself? It was just a little confusing and he'd never encountered someone who talked that way before now, but Jaden was pretty sure he could adjust. He offered a shy smile. "I'm Jaden. It's nice to meet you, Muninn." Blueberry was still resolutely ignoring the pair, except to shoot looks at the cockatriels. Cream, on the other hand, was thoroughly interesting in all the goings on. He had always been exceptionally friendly though. Once he ascertained that Blueberry was okay and Jaden was calm, the cream fennekit had begun peeking around Jaden at Muninn, clearly wanting to go over and sniff him.

“If… if its better I… I can try talking in first person. I know not everyone is comfortable with how Muninn talks” he laced his hands together and looked over to where Midgard was sitting on his shoulder. Maybe he had judged wrong, but he didn’t think so. He just wanted to know more people he supposed. “Jaden” he repeated as if testing the name out. “Jaden is a really cool name. It’s nice to meet you too. I am sorry about the familiar incident”
He did glance over at Dvalinn, since the Cockatriel was a bit puffed up still and glaring over at Blueberry. He hoped Dvalinn didn’t try anything; still Muninn had a solid grip on him so there was little chance of that. He did however smile warmly and friendly at Cream.

That seemed to be all the encouragement Cream needed. Jaden scooped the fennekit up before he could run over to sniff at Muninn, blushing a little. "Ah, sorry. He's really friendly and likes meeting people. I just didn't want him to upset your cockatriels, in case they think Cream's going to be mean or something." Jaden gave his head a small, shy shake, his bangs half hiding his face. "It's okay, I don't mind if you talk a certain way. I can follow you just fine." Not to mention it would be the height of rudeness to try to dictate to a stranger how they were supposed to act. Even if Jaden was as bold as the cockatriel sitting on Muninn's shoulder, he would never show such bad manners!

“Its okay, we’re all pretty used to friendly familiars. My house has a lot of cuddly nezubats” Muninn mused. Still he didn’t fault Jaden for scooping his familiar up. Dvalinn had attacked one of them after all and he knew the rep that Cockatriels had. Dvalinn was pretty close to your classic personality even if he was softer and nicer than most of them…. Maybe… if Dvalinn would stop occasionally biting Muninn’s hand. “You sure? Muninn doesn’t mind trying” he asked just to be absolutely positive while absent mindedly reaching up to rub at his double iris eye. The question was… what did one do now. It seemed a little bit awkward to throw a new thread of conversation up but then walking off kind of seemed really awkward too.

Jaden shook his head. "It's really okay. It doesn't bother me at all." He stood there, shuffling his feet a little, a bit like Muninn. He wasn't used to holding conversations with other people, so he wasn't sure what he should do next. Should he continue talking, should he try to change the topic, should he find a polite outing? Since he honest couldn't think of anything for the latter two, he went with the former. "I think Blueberry was always a bit of a diva, even before I got her, cause my other familiars are nice. Cream is super friendly, and Sprinkles is very polite." He offered a shy smile. "I guess the troublemakers are just born to cause mischief, no matter what we do." Nasaiki Did you want to start wrapping this one up, or try to work out an idea and continue onward some more?

Muninn smiled glad that jaden really wasn’t bothered by it. He still was working to get out of the habit but it was nice that he wasn’t going to get judged, at least here, for acting like himself. “Midgard and Ysgadril are really nice so I know that feeling. Dvalinn is always a troublemaker although he does have his good moments and when he knows you he’s a bit friendly and he gets along with all my other familiars which is really nice. However muninn agrees with that statement. Dvalinn no matter how much training still is dvalinn”As he was about to continue the clock in the park suddenly ran out indicating the time and Muninn paled a bit causing the permanent blush on his cheeks to really stand out. Oh he hadn’t meant to take that long. Apparently tracking Dvalinn down had taken way more time than he thought. “Muninn would absolutely love talking to you about familiars more, not too many of Muninn’s friends have Divas. Unfortunately Muninn promised his mom that he would pick up his little brother today. “ Here he had been trying to figure out some way to carry on the conversation and he had totally forgotten about Huginn. Ugh he was awful. “Maybe we could meet up again and talk. Munnin promises Dvalinn will be way more behaved”

Cream had calmed a bit under Jaden's gentle hands and was starting to look around for where Blueberry had gone (the little purple fennekit had chosen to continue her sulking under the tree the cockatriel had initially been perching in), so Jaden felt it was safe enough to set him back down. Cream immediately bounded back over to Blueberry. The clock began chiming, and Muninn made a face. At first Jaden thought it was his fault, then Muninn quickly explained. Jaden felt relief wash through him. "Yes, that would be very nice. I don't have many friends." He smiled shyly. "I'll keep a better eye on Blueberry next time." He waved at Muninn rushed off to get his brother, feeling oddly relieved and disappointed. It was nice socializing, but Jaden wasn't very good at it yet. It had been nice though, and he liked the thought of being able to see Muninn again. As long as they both continued to frequent the park, it probably wouldn't be too difficult to find each other. Jaden looked over at Blueberry and Cream and made a soft clucking sound, then turned and continued their walk. Maybe Blueberry just needed to exercise away her sulks.
