Sometime in the early afternoon of Deus getting heaped on by enormous drifts of snow, Chance Bones showed up at his boyfriend's dorm room.
He didn't bother knocking, simply pushed open the door and said, in a cheerful tone of voice slightly muffled by the midnight blue scarf he was wearing around his neck,
"Did you know it snowed outside?"

Otto did know. In fact, he himself was already bundled up in layers. To top it off, the second floor window was wide open. Why? In this cold weather, why was the window open?
Otto peeked over his shoulder when Chance strolled in, looking at him from over the scarf wrapped around his neck and half his face.
"Yes." He said plainly, one leg already outside the window. "I know."
Now what exactly was Otto planning to do? Surely he didn't plan to jump out a second story window and into 13 feet of snow, right?

Chance's eyes went to the window, then to Otto, then to the window again, and the fact that Otto's leg was, in fact, out of said window.
An eyebrow rose.
"Now what," said Chance lightly meandering over to him, "could you possibly be doing, hmm..?"

Like a deer caught in the headlights, Otto froze.
"Uhm..." His gaze was fixed on the curious man approaching him, but his mind was elsewhere. Namely, making excuses. However, he had very little time. Chance wasn't in a hurry to catch him, sure, however....
"See ya!" He yelped suddenly, pushing himself out the window.

"Hey - "
But too late. Otto had jumped, and...
Well.
Chance stood there for a moment, staring at the newly empty window, and then crossed over and peered out, leaning to see where the guy had gone. All that he saw was an enormous snowdrift and an Otto-shaped hole where he'd flopped straight down.
Chance braced his hands on the sill and leaned out.
"Are you still alive?" he hollered after him. "I think it'd be cool if you didn't, you know, die or some s**t."

That... had been....
The most...
AWESOMEST IDEA EVER!
There had been silence at first, until Chance spoke. From within the Otto-shaped hole came an Otto-sounding call; "THAT WAS WICKED!"
Crunching noises were heard as Otto tried to navigate out of the giant snow drift. Not an easy feat. Nearly everything was all snow drifts over twice Otto's height.
Finally, he managed to create some kind of clearing, and with a lot of breathless panting, he yelled up to Chance again. "DUDE! DO IT!"

"Did you know," said Chance cheerfully, and quite conversationally," that you're insane? Also this snow is equally as insane, so I suppose the two sort of go together."
He was already starting to throw his leg over the windowsill, however, Chance now sitting on it with his hands braced behind him. However, unlike Otto, he twisted around, somewhat awkwardly, gripping the window until he was facing backwards instead of forwards.
"But, well, if you can't beat 'em," he said with a sigh, "Join 'em."
And he flung himself backwards, arms outstretched, and promptly made a Chance-shaped chasm in the snow near the Otto-shaped one, Chance sinking immediately down.
"THIS IS ******** COLD, IN CASE YOU HAVEN'T NOTICED," he hollered, but Otto was right - it was pretty cool, Chance thought, as he now kicked and floundered where he lay to get out again.

Otto promptly laughed his a** off at Chance's complaints about the cold. He was just glad he'd stocked up on winter gear after that unfortunate swim in the Antarctic waters some years ago.
Now, he couldn't stop smiling. They were all given ample time off due to the snow. And this was probably the first time in his whole life he'd ever seen so much of it, AND had the time to play in it. "Oh my God, I'm making a giant snowman. Or OR a snow tunnel system. You gotta help! Quit yer flailin' over there and help out."
Sadly, it would be very, very hard to make a snowman with walls of snow towering over him. Honestly, he ought to think more about possible cave ins.

He finally managed to wriggle his way out of the mass of snow and tumbled onto the walkway rather unceremoniously. Chance got to his feet, brushing snow from his curls, and stuck out his tongue at Otto in a very mature display of his age.
"A snow tunnel system that leads to where, exactly?" Chance asked, squinting at the towers of white around them.

Otto returned the gesture by maturely sticking his tongue out at Chance.
"I'unno." He shrugged, squinting up at the blinding walls around them. "Just... tunnels.."
"Maybe a Snowman first. A real big one. Like... Robert the Snowman."

And this was why they got along so well.
Chance's eyes narrowed as he shoved some of the snow aside, trying to shape out a hole big enough for someone to crawl into.
"Robert - isn't he the one that called himself your dad? The one married to Dr. Morris?"

"Yeah, that dude. He's a nut job." Otto confirmed, promptly throwing himself into a wall of snow, allowing gravity to take himself and the snow back down to the ground. "I'd say make an Allen Snowman too, but he scares me. Like.. what if he sees it and thinks I actually admire him or some s**t?" On the ground, Otto picked himself back up and shoved himself into a wall of snow again. Slowly he began to burrow into the wall, his legs soon disappearing further inside the more he dug. "Know anyone else who's oafishly tall?" He called from within the snow.

"Right," said Chance, glancing over at Otto and snorting with laughter. "He's the one who told you that I better treat you right or something like that."
He half crawled after his boyfriend, scraping out armfuls of snow, coldness seeping into his arms, but Chance ignored this and shook his head, spraying the area around him with snowflakes. "Also Allan is kind of a weirdo too, he made me wear a maid outfit the last time I saw him."
Chance swiped a stray curl out of his face.
"Myself?" he asked with a s**t eating grin.

"Yeah, that guy..." Otto murmured a little quieter. Why Robert felt he needed to defend Otto's honour was beyond him. He certainly did not deserve that sort of concern. Not at all. Far from it. If anything, people should have been telling Otto to be good to Chance. Otto was the one with a record for breaking hearts, after all. "Tch. Who'd want a Snowman of you?" Otto tried to sound cruel, but the muffled giggle from within the snow was hard to hide. He burrowed back out again, shaking out his hair and fishing some snow out of his coat that had fallen down his neck. "Hmm.. I'm a little worried the snowman might actually come to life if we make it too good. Never know with this place. What if this snow is like.. magical and s**t? This is the ********' tropics, and suddenly we got a damned Snowpocolypse."

Chance glanced into the tunnel after Otto, but he couldn't see much of his face - or much of him at all, so the quiet tone of his voice could have been simply the fact that Otto was currently surrounded by snow. He let out a little hum of thought and continued carving out armfuls to dump onto the pathway.
He rolled his eyes, but caught the laugh, making him grin as Otto scrambled back out. Chance reached out a gloved hand and idly brushed a few stray snowflakes from the blond hair.
His brows rose in mild curiosity. "Has s**t like that actually happened before? I mean, it doesn't really surprise me, really, knowing this place and how ******** weird it is. But, well...you're kinda right," Chance added, glancing around at the literally feet of snow. "This is ridiculous."
He bent his head and pecked a quick kiss to Otto's cold forehead.
"Maybe if we make a silly one it'll keep it from attacking us should this be some sort of magical monster snow."
