Okay. Tonight was the night. Tonight she was going to find out if she was really crazy or not. She had been avoiding the top left drawer of her desk for a few weeks now, since in her uh…lucid dream? Acid trip? Whatever had happened, that was where she had stored the magical pen that allowed her to uh…whatever the word that the cat had said…turn into her super Sailor Kari form of doom or something.
It had taken about half an hour before Gale had the nerve to open up the drawer, and when she did…when she saw that changing pen just sitting there on top of a stack of paper…her heart sank and rose at the same time. So it pretty much stayed put.
With a trembling hand she reached out for the pen and ran her fingers over it, looking so confused and rather concerned. Well, if it hadn’t been some sort of a drug induced…whatever…that meant it was real. She had really met a talking cat. She had really…
After a moment’s hesitation, Gale left her house and didn’t stop walking until she was a few blocks away. What was she supposed to say? Something about power…something…
“…Kari power make up?” Had that been the phrase? When the swirling lights had stopped and she saw that she was once again wearing that strange outfit…she knew it had been the phrase. Well. That was interesting. Very interesting. There was such a different…feeling being like this. And something felt like it was tugging on the edge of her consciousness, so of course…what could she do but explore?
The senshi made her way towards the feeling and saw someone dressed in another strange outfit…bright purple pants with dark blue accents…
She had gotten lucky.
“Hello! Hi! Are uh…are you a thingy too? I’m a thingy. The cat told me what it was, but that was quite a while ago so…I just figured you had to be because of the outfit. It’s kind of strange, no offense!”

Encke was well used to what his transformation phrase was and what it felt like by now -- Encke Power, Make-up -- even if he really didn't seem to look the part of someone who had been a senshi for ... several ... years. He let out a quiet sigh. Stopping for a moment after a brief run, Encke pulling his arms over his head and stretched out. It was a nice night, if a little chilly outside. Admittedly, he preferred the cold. Made it a little less crowded out, which gave him more space to run by himself -- "Hello! Hi!"Encke jumped, not expecting someone to come right up behind him. In retrospect, considering he could sense that there was another senshi nearby, he probably should have known better. After a few seconds, he laughed it off, turning around to look at her himself. "Uh, you mean a senshi?" Thingy -- so she was new, then. Maybe. Quite a while ago -- maybe she was older like he was? "I'd like to think I wear this outfit quite well, thank you." He took a moment to flex, because that was just what Encke did, before settling back to a normal position. "But that's okay, a lot of us have ... unusual outfits, I think," with a smirk, he gestured vaguely at what the other senshi was wearing. "Part of the territory."

Kari watched the other guy jump and blinked. She hadn’t thought she was being sneaky or anything, but…hey, maybe some people were just jumpy. “Senshi! Yes, that’s the word that the cat used, I think. It’s quite a strange word, I wonder who thought it was a good idea to use it.” She had to look away when he flexed like that, he was kind of handsome and she wasn’t quite sure how to handle that. Just because his outfit was strange, didn’t mean he didn’t have a nice face…
…or a nice body.
“Um…yeah I guess, at least mine uh…mine…oh I don’t know. Odd outfits are just part of what we do, got it.”
Her face was a light pink and Kari shrugged. “So um…when did you start doing this? Do you have any tips? I had a cat give me the pen and everything in December, but I was pretty sure I had just been dreaming or was on drugs, so I didn’t bother checking until now…so that’s my story.”
She said all of this very fast, chancing a look back at him, and was relieved that he was no longer being a muscle man showoff.

How flustered the other senshi was didn't miss his notice, and a look of amusement crossed his face, but he didn't comment any further on it -- for now, anyway. December caught his attention, though. So she was new. Very new, actually. Not that he thought it was likely that she had been a senshi as long as he had been, but it was still an intriguing thought -- no matter, he supposed. In a lot of respects, he was probably just as new as she was. He didn't remember the last time he had seen a cat... Had he seen one since his awakening? "It's, uh, been a while," offered Encke, with an awkward laugh. "For me, anyway. I can't blame you for thinking it was related to drugs though, it's kinda weird isn't it?" He couldn't exactly tell people that he could go to a comet at will, for example. Well, sorta at will. There seemed to be a lot of restrictions on it. He wished he could go more often. Being in space on a comet was amazing-- Suddenly jumping subjects to the tips she had requested, Encke offered, "There's a sensation in your brain right? Those tell you when other people like us are nearby. Sometimes good, sometimes bad."

She nodded quickly, sighing. “I mean, I’m in nursing school, and I was really wondering if someone had slipped something into my drink at one of the exam study sessions, but I suppose I am glad that’s not the case…though I suppose reality is even more strange so…”
Kari gave him a little smile and nodded once again. “That’s how I found you, I think! I felt something over here and I came to see what was up and boom. There you were. I’m uh. I’m Sailor Kari, by the way. That’s what Hadaya told me. That was the name of the cat that uh helped me. I haven’t managed to meet any bad people, only you, to be honest. You’re the first one I’ve met, so that’s good. It could have been worse!”
The senshi went quiet for a moment. “Now…when you say bad. How bad are you talking? Like, kick puppies bad, or like, shoot grandma in the face bad…?”

Reality was stranger than fiction. He had to wonder if there were any writers that would come up with something like this, though. A group of people, awoken on Earth, representing the cosmos and its distant places? He would be interested in playing on a script like that. Maybe he could -- No, Ignacio. That would be a bad idea. Kari's cheer kept Encke at ease, and he was able to give her a rather large grin at her description. "Yup, exactly! And I'm Sailor Encke," Hadaya must have been one of the cats, he guessed. "Definitely not a bad guy. At least, I hope not." He glanced down at himself with some level of amusement, before looking back at Kari. "Uh," kick puppies bad was how he wished he could respond, honestly. Encke offered a bit of a lop-sided smile, rubbing his neck. "Depends on the person, I think. More of the latter though."

“More of the shooting grandma in the face type of people, hm? Well, that’s kind of disappointing…and kind of scary to be honest. I don’t know. Maybe I’m not all the way cut out for this, maybe I should just stick to my normal, boring life of being a full time nursing student and master of the string. I am a master of the string, you know.”
She didn’t know why she was bothering to tell him…maybe she just wanted to impress, since you know, he had nice muscles…
“Maybe you and I could hang out sometime? I could…uh. Make you a scarf so you don’t freeze in the winter, if you wanted. I love making scarves.”
His outfit did not look as…winter friendly as hers did. His arms were almost completely exposed, and he didn’t have a lovely layer of fur by his neck. As Kari considered the fukus she shrugged. “I wonder what makes the outfits look the way they do? What do you do? Do you do a do…do?”
She sounded like an idiot, but she wasn’t sure how to ask…what his thing was. “Um. I do loyalty. My thing is loyalty, but I don’t know how…” Kari gestured to her outfit and shrugged. “I don’t know how this is loyalty. Does it look loyalty to you? I mean, I guess it’s modest…so like, I would be loyal to any boyfriend I might have but…I don’t know if that’s where they were going with it.”

Encke's eyebrows raised in amusement at her babbling, a small smirk forming on his face. "Oh, a master? I would certainly be interested in what a master can do." On a more serious note, though, Encke added, "I bet the senshi could always use more nurses, though. Lots of injuries." At least, from what he understood. There was a big war thing going on, and all that. He tended to avoid a lot of the, uh, fighting. He had to get his own mind in order, first. Take care of himself before others. Encke rubbed at his arm, deciding to not think any further on that path. This conversation was much more interesting. He didn't exactly miss the boyfriend reference, and it did make him grin a bit, but he went a bit on a different path with his response. "Loyalty? I admit, I wouldn't've thought loyalty when I saw your outfit," he paused, "but then again, I didn't really think any sphere." It wasn't as obvious as he thought eyes had been, though that didn't even turn out to be eyes really. "I'm Plasma, though. Encke of Plasma." He looked down at his outfit. "Not sure what this outfit has to do with plasma. It's easy to move in though, and plasma's fast?"

Kari grinned a little, feeling just slightly embarrassed at his words. “I mean, I’ve been crocheting for a while now, so I think I’m at least pretty darn good. Five years is nothing to sneeze at. I mean, maybe for a grandma it is, but I’m not quite that old yet…”
Plasma, hm? “Encke...When you say plasma, do you mean like, blood plasma?” She was looking at his outfit again, frowning just slightly. “If that was what you were going for, I feel like your colors are wrong, plasma is a pale yellowish color, kind of like pus…at least that’s what I think it looks like. I’ve donated plasma before, it’s a really strange experience, but the hospital really needed it…plus we got ten bonus points on our mid terms if we helped so…I wasn’t going to say no to that!”
She liked talking to this guy. It was fun. If this was how it was going to be, maybe she would power up more often. There was nothing wrong with interactions like this…especially with such a good looking guy.

"Five years is a long time to be doing one thing, though." Longer than he tended to spend doing one thing, admittedly. He was sure that Kari probably had considerable mastery over the skill... Wait, blood plasma? His brows raised a bit at her description, before he snickered a bit -- not at her, but at the thought of abilities involving blood plasma. What would he do exactly, if he did that? Bleed all over his enemies? Well, that wouldn't quite work, considering it was plasma, though it might certainly creep people out. Maybe he could do something with healing? Was that was blood plasma did? He wasn't exactly a med student... After a moment, he shook his head. "Nah, like stages of matter plasma? The high energy matter stuff. Like some of the stuff in space?" He pulled his hands apart like he was going to summon his power, but he quickly decided that this was a bad idea and did not. "Like the stuff you see in those plasma balls they have at novelty stores. I think that's where the colours come from." He admittedly hadn't had a conversation this amusing as a senshi in a while. It was nice to be able to relax when he felt other presences instead of immediately powering down and fleeing the premises...

“Oh.”
Kari felt her face heating up again and she made a face. “Well, I do suppose that does make sense, yeah I guess blood plasma wouldn’t be very good…
“I do apologize, classes started again last week and I guess my brain is already fried again from them all, and I suppose I can’t stop thinking of you know, blood and bones and respiratory issues.” She waved a hand in the air and hoped she didn’t sound too crazy. She felt crazy, a lot.
“I don’t know, maybe it’s just past my bed time and I should head home…I do have class tomorrow pretty early so…” Plus it would be great to get out of there before she said something else to embarrass herself in front of Encke. “It was really, really great to meet you though…I hope we see one another again…I’ll make you that scarf, I promise.”

Encke looked a little alarmed when she didn't seem embarrassed for any reason that was good, and he shook his head rapidly at her reaction. "Don't worry about it! I can see why a biology student would think blood plasma. I just don't know all that much about biology, so my brain automatically goes elsewhere." He laughed. He knew ... enough about biology, but he certainly didn't know all the things a nurse who was actively studying would have to know. How did anyone even keep all that in their head? He would have been lost fifty times over... It was getting rather late, and as much as he was enjoying this conversation he would rather not concern certain people but-- This was nice. He laughed. "Yeah, it is kinda late. But I would like to see you again! I tend to run in this form in this general area, so you might run into me here on occasion. And I would appreciate the scarf, really." Encke saluted. "It was nice meeting you?"

Kari grinned. “The pleasure was all mine. I can imagine that there are a lot of people that it would have been worse to meet tonight!”
She made a mental note of where she was, and the fact she had to come back here…with a scarf, sometime soon. “I’m thinking, maybe in a week I can come back? It shouldn’t take that long for me to make a scarf, but if you want to meet here next week, I can have it for you! We’re supposed to get a pretty nasty snowstorm coming, soon so please stay warm, won’t you? I don’t want you having to go to the hospital for frostbite!”
Because that would be bad. And gross…and bad.
She rocked back on her heels, waiting almost breathlessly for an answer, already planning what kind of scarf to make him. Something fancy. Something to really showcase all of her skills.

Encke couldn't help a small bit of a confident smirk at her remark that the pleasure was hers, but he managed to pop a hole in that small ego bubble before it got worse. Her concern for him getting frostbite was sweet, though, but he couldn't help a small laugh when she worried. "Thank you, though -- you keep yourself warm too, alright?" Glancing warily at the direction he was fairly sure the snow was coming from--at least, the night sky looked even darker over there--he added, "No point in getting yourself buried in whatever's coming." He laughed. "Provided we aren't buried in a snowpocalypse, I'll make sure to stop by. Good luck with the studies!" After offering a cheerful wave, Encke headed back off in the direction of his house.
