For the first time since she'd begun visiting her homeworld Denebola, and her companion Loke, arrived in a new location and surprise is written all over her face when she looked around. They were in the middle of a field surrounded by broken stone huts and fabric tents that had collapsed. To their left stood the great temple, large white and made of marble that was built with columns that loosely resembled Greek architecture.
The location left the woman breathless, letting go of Loke so that she could clutch at her chest and tried to breathe.
The buildings were in ruins, massive dragonfly corpses littering the area and a few skeletons lay in the grass, frozen in various poses, with their jaws slacked and vegetation growing around the bones. She'd seen the animal corpses before but she'd never ventured this way and to see the destruction of the people that used to populate her planet well--
Denebola let out a sob and fell to her knees.
It'd never been this bad before.
