What do you think? I looked what it had to say about abortion over, and I have a few reasons for wondering at it's accuracy/unbiased-ness. However, I know basically nothing about this organization, and I was wondering if anyone else had seen it or talked about it with someone who might know more?

To date, I've had no problem with the website. I don't know what religioustolerance has to say about abortion but it gained a lot of respect in the internet for trying to keep one-sidedness out of their articles and researching their topics from authentic sources. I could be wrong since I don't visit it THAT much. But I've never had a bad experiance and it is a pretty popular site.

They are biased. I was linked to a few articles they had about the christian riligion and alot of what they said was either flat out lies or misunderstandings of the biblicle text.

I dont know about their articles, but the intro seemed pretty biased to the pro-choice side to me.

I think sometimes they have facts wrong, but no one's perfect. They tend to take the middle ground.I'm sure to people who are pro-choice, it seems biased towards the pro-life side.

Pyro...I can have a bad memory sometimes...are you also Catholic?

After doing some surfing...yeah I have to agree some of the topics are not handled as well as they could. I find it notable that in the homosexuality debate, there are excellent and very well thought out, detailed rebuttels to over 20 arguements against same sex marriage. Whereas there there are short, and very lame rebuttels to 8 arguements for same sex marriage that do not go into detail. And all of it from a single religion's viewpoint...the conservative Christian. You're just expected to take it without explaination. That's not balanced.

There is one Christian on the five-man Religious Tolerance team. Since diversity is important to a site like that, I kinda wish there were more than five representatives of five different religions (two of them are Athiest and Agnostic) doing the writing. With only three people that actually affiliate themselves with a specific faith (Christian, Wiccan and a Zen Bhuddist), there are very few voices in there if you look at the big picture. I was shocked that Islam (especially Islam these days), Judaism and, to a lesser extent, Catholocism were not also represented in that group. A Protestant-Catholic section would have been interesting...

No, I'm non-denominational. A protestant to the catholic church.

If it was trully riligious tolerent that would have them all writing on one subject and having each other correct mistakes. Like, say the chirstian was writing on Bhudism. The Bhudist should come along and say, "Thats not exactly acuret, let me show you...."

But, form what I've seen, they don't do that.

There was one little nuance in the section on fetal growth that kind of ticked me. They said that christians beleive that pregancy begins when the sperm meets the eggs. I knwo its just little, but form they way they siad it (almost in a condesending manner). I know of no christian who beleives pregnancy starts when the sperm meets the egg. Pregnancy starts when the fertalised egg embeds itself in the lining of the uterous. I knew that before I went to their site.

If you want a reason why they are some what intolerent. Talk to the guys over at www.tektonics.org

Actulay, you shoudl see their section on human growth form conception. Yes, human growth. CLearly stated they say human life starts at conception. And that at conception we have a metabolism and are capable of A-sexual reproduction up untill 14 days after conception.
