They'd made it back, barely, both were in far too bad of shape to do much but remain collapsed where they were in the lobby of the main building, just barely hanging on as everything threatened to fall apart. Aiden felt as if her entire body was made of shattered glass - held together by thin strips of flesh and muscle that tore with each movement - each heaving breath as she tried to calm herself down. She couldn't cry yet - not yet - Mira was hurt, and she needed medical assistance... They both needed medical assistance.
"Do--don't worry, M-Mira... I'll f--find him... St-stay here..." She pushed herself up to her feet, eyes burning with tears as she felt her bones shift. Oh, she'd need so much time to recover... "I'll-- be right... b-back..." Surely he'd still be around- surely he wouldn't have left... She stumbled towards the office, struggling to maintain her balance...
Once she made it to the door, she collapsed against it, then turned the knob - hoping, praying it would be unlocked and that he would be inside...

Mira opened her mouth to protest but she didn't have the strength to make noise, drowned out by her own scared crying that she tried to choke back to no avail. Her eyes were heavy as she beginning to pass out. "Satya... please..."
Sorry, kid, there's not much I can do right now. If they come here, I'll need to save my energy to protect you.
Mirabelle nodded slowly and closed her eyes, almost as though she was falling asleep.

Rhun had been doing his normal thing in his office filing paperwork and making sure things were in order. His hair was slicked back now, probably at the suggestion of a certain incubus who had previously pointed out he looked the same as his other self. He heard a bit of ruckus out in the hall as he quirked an eyebrow and moved to the door. There was a thud against the door, one that confused him but also gave him a feeling of dread. "Delilah? What are you d-.." he opened the door as the smaller green-haired meta fell into the office. Rhun instinctively reached to catch her, placing a hand on each shoulder, letting her fall into his arms. "A-aiden?" a look of heavy concern washed over his face as he noticed immediately that she had been injured. "What happened?! Where's Mira?!" his eyes widening slightly as he seemed to be determined for answers. He couldn't think of how this could have happened especially on the grounds. None of it made sense, as he glanced around looking for the presence of Mirabelle but couldn't immediately see her, his stomach churning hard at the possibilities of the situation. "Who did this to you?!"

Oh, thank everything-- he was there. She barely had the strength to stand, and was thankful for the brace he gave her. Though, the barrage of questions weren't really something she could handle right now. She shook her head, trying to indicate that she couldn't tell him right now - there were more important things. "Mira-- she's... on the chair-- she needs h--help, please..." She raised one arm weakly to point back towards Mira, then attempted to push herself to a standing position.
Each step shot more pain through her body but she was desperate to get back to her sister - to let her know she wasn't alone - that it was safe. "She's h--hurt, on her back..."

Rhun nodded intently, understanding that Mirabelle needed him. They both needed medical attention. He took a moment to think about how he could get them both there as fast as possible. He took up Aiden's arm, moving her into a piggy back. "Hold on as tight as you can, okay?" he figured Aiden probably had just enough strength to hold on until they got to the infirmary which wasn't far, in fact, it was in the same building. As soon he was sure she had locked her arms around his neck tightly, he began to half-run down the hall towards where Aiden had said Mirabelle was.
Before a few moments, she came into sight. Sitting unconscious in a chair. "Mira! Mira!" he called out as he used a hand to reach out and shake her. She was unresponsive. He adjusted Aiden to make sure she was secure without him holding her and reached down to pick up Mirabelle into his arms, then set off for the nurses office. "It's going to be okay, I will get you there!" he commanded with a fierceness that said he would absolutely make sure they were going to be okay.
He first laid Mirabelle in a bed, freeing his hands up as he reached around and pulled Aiden into the bed. He stumbled slightly, the adrenaline rush wearing off for now as he exhaled deeply looking over both of them. He pulled a rolling stool up between the beds and moved a hand to place over Mirabelle's. Then looked to Aiden with concern and bitterness for whoever did this to them.

Aiden did not like where this was going, but it wasn't as if she had much choice. Awkwardly, she clung to his neck for dear life, trying not to fall off despite the jostling she received from his running. Every movement of his felt like a thousand needles pushing into her skin - oh she really, really needed this to be over...
After what felt like eternity, she felt herself being placed onto a bed. She reached up weakly to rub at her eyes, and then looked over to Mira. "Sh--she... used her p-powers a lot-- to get us a-away..." She winced, forcing herself to speak despite the pain. "There were-- t-two of them..."
--
Having heard the commotion, the resident nurse emerged from their secluded office. "Rhun, let me see them." They came over to shoo him away, quickly examining the two of them with their power... Fractures, lacerations.. they would be alright, but it would take quite a bit of power to heal them both. They started with Mirabelle, placing their hands in the air over her body and then began concentrating on repairing the damage...

Rhun gave the resident nurse space to aid the two girls. Two of who?
Yes, I wonder who could do such horrible things.. the voice laughed.
'No,... malices' never worked together. Even when they made a deal, they never actually pursued Alice...' he thought in his mind.
Can you really rule it out?
'Stop! You're just trying to freak me out!' Rhun wanted to know more but wasn't sure the nurse would let him ask any further questions at this time until they were better. Even so, he started in anyway, he needed to know what this threat was if he wanted to protect the other Metas at the sanctuary. Especially the younger ones.
"Do you know who attacked you?" he started with one question, he could figure out the rest later if he had to. He wanted to know who he should hold responsible for this atrocity.

The nurse continued their work on Mirabelle, slowly patching her back together.. Aiden felt some of the pain in her own body fade slightly, making things more bearable.
Rhun was asking her if she knew who attacked them....She struggled to form the words-- to recall the memories... what had Mira named him..? "Mira-- she... she called him A-Adrien..." She winced, feeling a pang as the nurse fixed something in Mira that affected their bond. "We met--... we met him once.... he was someone different... When we were children... In the hedge maze.."

Rhun tried to sift through his memories to match anything to the description but nothing came up. He had no idea who Adrien was. But different stuck out in his mind. When they were children, he was probably a teenager. He wasn't sure what to make of it. "Mirabelle had never spoken to me about anyone named Adrien." he replied, keeping Aiden on the same page as what he knew about their situation. "Was it here on the grounds?" He stood, shifting lightly as he was antsy to do something about all of it. He wanted to make whoever did this pay. The anger prodding lightly but not enough for him to think he'd lose control, especially with the mask on. "And the other one? You said there was two."

The nurse finished with Mira, then turned to start working on Aiden. The activation of their powers caused her to gasp, gritting her teeth for a moment as her fractures began mending themselves. It hurt - but it wasn't unbearable... She forced herself to shake her head, "n--no, we were in t--town..." She breathed in harshly, emitting a soft whine as her legs made a few cracking sounds as the glass fused back together.
"I-- I didn't recogni-ize her... I bli--blinded the man -- but the wo--woman is unha--unharmed..." She gripped the sheets, tears blinding her eyes as the pain reached a new high.

Rhun tried to piece everything together, but there simply wasn't enough information to come to a solid conclusion. They had been in town, but it couldn't have been humans since she mentioned they had encountered one of them before in the hedge maze. So they had to be Metas. Rogue Metas maybe?
He pondered whether it had been Lucian and Andy who were expected to arrive soon but he couldn't recall if Aiden and Andy every actually met. He doubted that scenario, Lucian was just a toddler at that time, and they would never outright attack other innocent Metas like this. It was against everything the renegade had fought for. He shook his head, trying to get his memories to cooperate but kept pulling up blanks.
Regardless of who their attackers were, they were not on the grounds. At least not yet. If he could find a way to prevent them from entering the grounds, he could possibly help the few that were already here. He contemplated closing the gates for right now, hoping that if the two attackers so the state of the grounds, they would just assume the place was still abandoned. But at the risk of other Metas who needed help thinking the same thing. He was truly at an impasse.
His eyes shifted to Mirabelle, still unconscious for who knows how long. Then he shift to Aiden. "What did they look like?" he asked, if he could get a better description, he'd know who to look out for. If they were Metas, he wanted to be able to have a chance at stopping them if they came.

Oh, god, the pain was quickly becoming unbearable. She cried out, though her voice gave out halfway through as the nurse forced a cracked bone back into place. She couldn't even comprehend what Rhun was asking - let alone answer. The more the nurse fixed things, the more her struggle to maintain composure was causing more small fractures.
"Rhun, I have to put her under." The nurse finally stated. Within moments the world went black as she faded into unconsciousness...
The nurse continued their work, finally able to mend the damage without interference. "She will need to be out for a few days, Rhun. For now I suggest making plans to deal with aggressors..."

Rhun clenched his teeth hard, his eyes piercing through the information trying to find anything that could help. What was he to do? The sanctuary hadn't been open long and already they were being attacked. Were other Metas mad about the sanctuary's existence?
He nodded sharply at the nurse, "Please take care of them." he spoke abruptly then left without another word.
His thoughts race, anger threatening to even boil up in his current state. This wasn't fair, they were innocent girls. Mirabelle was blind for ******** sake. What kind of savage could do this? Without much of a plan, he began to walk toward the gates. He couldn't decide whether he'd close them and hope they'd just leave them alone, or maybe, maybe he should go to the city. Maybe make an appearance as the killer he truly had become and retaliate the only way he knew how. The way Obscurite had taught him. He couldn't decide, but his outrage easily showing on his face as he walked briskly.
He thought about how he could fight them, he couldn't go get his violin without Deskri asking questions, and that was the last thing he needed. He didn't want to have to lie to Deskri again, but he definitely couldn't bring himself to tell him that Metas were getting hurt in the city. He knew that the word of violence wouldn't settle well with him and it was best not to worry him too much about it. He was safe, and that's all that matter. Rhun was the headmaster after all, this was a problem he needed to deal with. And deal with it he would. Just as soon as he decided what it was he was going to do.
He stood at the gate, debating. Stay Rhun and temporarily lock the gates. Or. Become Rasiel the Killer and make them pay. It was a surprisingly hard decision to make. He ungloved a hand, bringing it to his mouth, ready to bite, to draw his own blood. He was beginning to decide what path he'd choose. He was determined to protect the sanctuary, the metas inside, to protect Melody and Deskri. He placed his wrist forcibly against his mouth, eyes narrowing in hatred as he braced himself for pain.
