Personality:
Zyhamon has shown an eagerness to avenge past defeats and brutally punishes failure with torture or death. No-one, not even his fellow deities, is exempt from his cruel and merciless behavior and he has been known to have minions and souls tortured or killed even when they fulfilled their tasks, though he regards the souls of the dead as his and his alone to end. On the occasions he has spared enemies and underlings for their transgressions, he has considered his mercy to be a punishment, believing that letting them live in a chaotic universe with free will and being around loved ones who will eventually die is a bad enough fate.
In addition, and importantly, Zyhamon possesses a raging and unnatural temper that is only kept in checked by a phenomenal amount of self-control. It could be considered a dark reflection of Zyhamon’s ambition that he has brought order to his own inner chaos through sheer force of will and personal discipline, which is what he wishes to do to the universe on a much grander scale.
He adheres to a strange personal code of honor and generally keeps his word (his exact word), but does not allow this to get in the way of his ambition or, occasionally, his vengeance. He desires an ordered universe with himself as absolute ruler, and wishes to make this universe as dark and miserable as possible and to break the will of every living thing to make them both dependent on him and cruel, spiteful people who have a truly nihilistic outlook on life, believing nothing but Zyhamon holds any meaning and that the rest of reality is a cruel, random place devoid of meaning, that Zyhamon alone brings order to. He does not hide the fact that he is a ruthless, sadistic, uncaring deity who holds no love for any of his people and wants to be worshiped not so much in spite as because of this, making his evil vices- and he freely refers to himself as evil- out to be the only true virtues, turning good and evil upside down.
Zyhamon is an extremely intelligent being, with vast knowledge and expert understanding of advanced magic, military strategy, psychology and death, and can respect the intelligence of his adversaries and underlings. He does not tolerate laziness or competence and expects his servants to be clever and imaginative as well as generally competent in their missions and undertakings, despite otherwise suppressing freedom of thought and fostering an oppressive and controlling atmosphere.
However, he does not tolerate any criticism from his minions, and will execute them on the spot if they offer it, no matter how insightful or justified. However, he is less bothered by criticism from his enemies and even relishes their hatred and disgust of him. He may even show more respect for his enemies than his minions so long as those enemies are willing to go to any lengths to thwart him, and has less if they show some kind of moral restraint in pursuit of his defeat. Though he has a very high opinion of himself, it is less that he is blind to his own failures and weaknesses than he does not abide his subordinates trying to address them. He perceives love, happiness and hope as weaknesses and has an arbitrary sense of justice, mostly predicated on might makes right and a desire to instill some sort of order.
Zyhamon is also shown to be a cunning, callous, and pragmatic being with the sole goal of a human free world. The lives of innocent people and even his closest friends meaning absolutely nothing to him. To this end, he is willing to put whatever he pleases on the line or destroy anything in his way. Despite his overweening malice, Zyhamon has grown to show to have some slight sympathy; all of Zyhamon's other positive points are revealed to have sinister intentions behind them. He no longer believes in mindless violence or destruction without cause or motive, nor is sadistic in nature, but he will willingly engage in violence, cause destruction, and even commit cold-blooded murder if it benefits his quest for genocide. Ultimately, his quest to rid the world of humans is the only thing Zyhamon finds value in anymore after losing his desire for vengeance against his father and only sees other living beings as tools to be manipulated if they are useful or destroyed if they are hindrances to his grand designs, but always with a greater purpose in mind. While these motives of creating a more "clean" existence was not initially evil in nature, they allowed Zyhamon to feel no remorse for his actions and commit heinous atrocities throughout the Mortal Plane for years on end, turning Zyhamon into a violent and amoral villain who is eventually consumed by his lust for death. Regardless of his justifications and motives for his plans, Zyhamon has shown an extreme disregard for all life. This disregard for life is seen in his ultimate goal of inciting a world free of humans which would cost the lives of billions of innocent people and the possible destruction of the Mortal Plane. While possessing amazing skills, stamina, and powers, even at such an old age, Zyhamon rarely, if ever, brags about his skills and even accepts the fact that he is capable of being defeated. Knowing that not even he is unbeatable, Zyhamon is always laying out numerous back up plans in case his original designs do not go as planned. This not only allows Zyhamon multiple paths to take even if his schemes are spoiled, but keeps him one step ahead of all his adversaries. His modest demeanor and acceptance of possible defeat also contributes to his calm appearance as he knows that, even in defeat, he still has other alternatives to turn to.
