It was a Sunday afternoon, and Drew was heading for Caelum's house. It had been a couple of weeks, but Drew had been seeing a lot of Caelum lately, hanging and stuff. Deme was not able to meet them - He was studying too hard. Drew was hoping that Caelum would like to shoot some hoops or such... He was hoping to get his mind off of Dani - there was a possible chance that she would start her long journey from Hawaii tomorrow and be here in the next few weeks, and he didn't know what to say to that. Caelum, that was a different story. He usually knew what to say to Caelum, unless he had to call off a visit because off a negaverse attack nearby - strangely Caelum would always have to too. And then at the battle, a Chibi Scout new to him, named Sailor Cadmus of Cranberries would show up and well, refuse his help. Odd. If Drew didn't know better, Caelum was Cadmus....

He rang the doorbell.

Fiora, Caelum's mother, let out a sigh. Rigel was doing all he could to avoid her and her new boyfriend wasn't replying to her messages because of their recent argument. While she did agree that the split from her husband was mutual, it was taxing when both men she gave her heart to flippantly threw it aside.

When she heard the doorbell ring, she popped up from her seat on the couch and trotted toward it with bated breath. She thought it to be Bryan, probably back to pay her an apology, but when she opened the door, she came upon a face she didn't recognize—a young man, likely in his teens. The face she made was not too pleased.

She waited a moment until she finally said, "You're probably here for Caelum, right?" Even her youngest son wasn't telling her anything, so she could only guess. Without waiting for an affirmation, she called over her shoulder, "Cae, there's someone here for you!"

Caelum was seated at his computer with the volume on his headphones up high, so it took his mother a few calls to penetrate the static of heavy metal for him to hear her. "H-huh?" he called back. "Who?"

Fiora eyed Etamin up and down. "Someone! Just... Just come see!"

Caelum huffed, muttered, "This sucks," under his breath, and then exited to the corridor that lead to the living room. When he saw the familiar face, though, his own brightened instantly.

"Oh, Drew!" he cried happily. "You're here... Why are you here?" He didn't mean to say it so offhandedly, so he quickly added, "I wasn't expecting you, did Mrs. Danjuma need me for something?"

Sailor Hawk
Could you clarify something for me? From your beginning, you're saying Cadmus and Etamin had run-ins before with each other while powered-up? Just want to be sure! By the way, feel free to talk to me through quotes; you don't have to send a PM if you want to mention something~

[quote-"Unoderi"] Is that ok? I thought it would be logical. I was thinking that they've known each other for a few days or weeks, and during that time they might meet up, but I can change it if you want?

"Hey Caelum. I was wondering if you'd like to shoot some hoops or something? " He grinned."I figured, you might like to get out of the house for a bit? Or we could do something else."

Drew had stiffened at Caelum's mother's look. Obviously, Caelum hadn't told her about Drew yet. "Um sorry, Ma'am, I'm Drew, Caelum's assigned Big Brother. But I think he's helped me more than I helped him." Drew said with a smile.

Fiora leveled her gaze on Drew for a second before sliding it over to Caelum. Knotting her arms across her diaphragm, she waited patiently for him to also explain himself. While she did appreciate Drew taking the time to do so, she wanted to hear the words from her son's own lips.

Caelum didn't do so, however. He pursed his lips at her before nodding his head at Drew. "Sure, I would love to," he said to him. "Let me just get my coat."

The pink-haired boy swiveled on his heel and marched back to his room. Fiora watched her son's back before turning to Drew again.

"That's very kind of you to say," she said. "About him helping you, I mean, but I seriously do think my son needs more help. Something to make him better if he had the gall not to tell me about this." She let out a sigh. "Thank you for looking after my son, though. I appreciate it."

By this time, Caelum had returned from his room sporting a red hoodie. "All right, let's go," he said, whisking Drew away in the direction of the nearby court without even telling his mother goodbye.

Sailor Hawk
Oh, it's fine! I just wanted to be sure; no need to change it. smile

Drew smiled weakly at the lady. She clearly didn't understand that the parent's actions had effects on the child's behavior. A child and therefore, a lot of their grown-up selves, grow and become, from the people around them. Many parents didn't understand that parents divorcing has a profound effect on the child. To a child, family rules the order of the universe. To a child, divorce destroys the order and balance of their universe, and hurts them. To go further and date other people, why that imbalances the universe even more. Yes, she was an adult and she made her own decisions, but what she didn't understand was that while they were her own, her decisions, and therefore, the consequences thereof affected others, especially young children around her.

Caelum came back and whisked him away.

On the Court, he was shooting hoops with Caelum, and taking turns. He missed like half of them. He was still thinking about kids, Dani, Caelum, and Dria. With lives like these, Negaverse were beaten to the punch ruining lives. He went for a jump shot, and as soon as his feet left the ground, he felt something fall out of his pocket. Oh no.

Unoderi
ok good smile . What do you think fell out?

Caelum smeared the sleeve of his hoodie over his forehead and let out a breath. He had forgotten how beneficial physical exertion could be for one's soul—especially when it came to venting frustrations he couldn't put into words. He found himself half-distracted by them, however, when Drew went to make his jump shot. Yet, the clatter of something on the court caught his attention and he trotted over to it for closer inspection; even picking it up to take a better look.

Is this what I think it is? he thought to himself in wonder.

Sailor Hawk
Haha, his henshin pen, I'm guessing?

Unoderi
yep!

What Caelum found was a black and gold henshin pen, with a symbol of a feather (technically a quill, or the Egyptian Hieroglyph for E) on the top. Drew hustled Caelum more away from the public. "Okay so now you know. I use this to transform and fight, evil beings, that want to take over the world, little brother. But you can't tell anyone. Promise me." Drew looked deeply into Caelum's eyes, to let him know he was serious.

Caelum hooted in surprise to be whisked away so suddenly. He blinked at his Big Brother as he was told a piece of truth that he had promised to Hadaya, by all means, to keep secret. He swallowed thickly and looked down at his feet, kicking a small pebble with the tip of his sneaker.

"You shouldn't have told me that," Caelum said, holding the elder male's gaze. "It's something that you should've kept to yourself—even if I had discovered this." He pointed to the henshin pen. "And you could've said it was a secret you couldn't tell me. I would have listened. But I understand, I have no intention of doing so. That's because..." Sticking his hand into his hoodie pocket, he produced out his own pen; a red and gold instrument with red, spherical beads dangling from the clip. "We're in the same boat."

The news that Caelum was a Sailor, excuse me, a Chibi Sailor Scout, only half surprised Drew. Hadn't he been meeting a Chibi Sailor Scout, every time he had break their meetings up to go to a Nega fight?

He nodded. "Let's put them away for now. And let's go somewhere we can talk in private." He put his away and led Caelum to a bench surrounded by tall trees. "Let me guess. You're Chibi Sailor Cadmus, right? Cause I'm thinking it's the both of us that seem to keep bumping into other, when we break off our meetings early to go fight negas. I'm Sailor Etamin of Hieroglyphics. Isn't your spheres Cranberries?"

Caelum wasn't surprised either. To be frank, he had an inkling ever since their first meeting at Knightside and a bit of youma dust landed on his hand. As he sat on the bench, he pulled his knees up to his chest. Not looking at Drew, but instead at the tips of his sneakers, he nodded his head.

"Yea, I'm Cadmus," he said in a rather matter-of-fact tone. There goes the promise he made with the guardian cat who awakened him to not tell anyone. It bothered him a bit that he broke it. "And it is cranberries, though it shouldn't be no surprise with the, err, remnants of my attacks." He looked at Drew then. "Have you been Etamin long? I've been getting used to my powers, but not so much that it feels new and all."

So Caelum was Sailor Cadmus of Cranberries. Interesting sphere, but then Caelum could probably say that about Hieroglyphics. Now hmm,Caelum was asking how long he'd been Etamin. "Well, actually, since May, so I guess about eight months, I'm pretty used to it, I guess."

His little brother could take care of himself in a fight, he had seen. But that still worried him. As did his own situation - he seemed to have lost his scouting partner, and he really did not have enough power to take out enemies. He'd been lucky lately.

"Caelum, I'd like to make a proposal." He knew he had to word this right. "I've recently have lost my Scouting Partner and have been really lucky lately, going out alone.. I was wondering if ... you would consider being my partner?"

Caelum's lips thinned for a moment as he considered the thought. It was in his nature to agree—he was warned of the dangers of patrolling alone at night and, in fact, had firsthand encounters to why—but he relented to saying yes then and there. Lowing his feet from the bench, he swung his legs a bit, and kept his eyes on his shoes again.

"I'll think about it," he said. He knew it wasn't the answer Drew wanted to hear, but he was remaining resolute with his choice. Had he been unacquainted with the world of senshi, he might have said it was because heroes worked alone, but it was another matter altogether: His powers as Cadmus were his own burden to bear. He didn't want to put that on anyone else.

So in a sense, yes, as a hero he worked alone, but that was just the way he preferred it.

"Sorry, it isn't you or anything," Caelum said next, fingering the henshin pen in his pocket. "I've just been doing everything myself, by myself, for so long that it's just the way I prefer it. If we bump into each other again as sailors, I'll fight with you, but I would really prefer it... if I was by myself as Cadmus."

Drew sighed. He couldn't force Caelum to join him. He just hoped the kid would be alright. But he could ask one other thing.

"Would you mind training with me then? I would greatly appreciate it."

Caelum dipped his chin at Drew. "That much I can do," he said to him. He then looked to the sky and, while he couldn't place the time of day by the position of the sun, he knew it was approaching dinner time. "But we'd probably have to do it later. It's getting kind of late and my ma would want me home in a bit." He kicked himself up to standing from the bench. "How about later on tonight? At the park at my house? There's these thicket of trees I train it that would make a good spot to train a bit."

Do you want to do a follow-up RP to this one with them sparring? I can start that one next when we bring this one to a close.

Drew nodded. "Alright. How about I walk you home - it would be the normal responsible thing do?" He asked as he looked toward the sunset.
