User Image Rising up from the cushions of his couch once more, Exodus wandered to the bookshelf across the room. His collection was growing wonderfully and still offered many a chance at adventure and the likes... even with all the ones he had read and reread again. Stepping up in front of the shelf, his long fingers trailed along the wood then up and down the spines of several of his top choices to read. As he came across a children's book he had picked up during the Solstice festivities, he slowly pulled the book from it's place and into his hands it went. It was one he didn't remember from his own childhood, so the demon decided he would give it a read over. Curiosity did get the better of him more often than not, so the fact that this book would present an entire other world to him made him want to read it all the more. Taking to his chair again, Exodus ran his finger along the edging of the cover before prying it open slowly.

It hadn't been a particularly long book of any kind, but when the demon had come to the end of it, he closed it slowly and sat back, deep in thought. His mind wandered through the story of the little girl who braved all nonsensical peril to get herself back home. He even smiled as he recalled certain parts that he found quite entertaining and enjoyable. Which were quite a few. He mused aloud as he wondered what in the world the author had been on at some points because the vivid imagery of some very crazy things had his logical brain feeling a wee bit out there. Some days, the far stretches and nonsense of books was beyond his comprehension. All the same, this book had thoroughly amused him.

Then his mind wandered further, beginning to ponder what a younger him would have thought of such a story. Would he have found wonder in such land, or would he try to reason everything away? And as his mind continued to wander down the path it had taken, he found himself feeling sad and lonely, wishing he had someone to share these otherworldly adventures with. What kind of life would this story take on threw that of a child? Oh he was sure that it could only become something amazing beyond all reasoning through the mind of someone so small. He began to pour through the pages of the book once more, but this time, wondering which characters and scenes a child might enjoy the most. Which ones they'd question reality at. What character would be the favorite outside of the main -- it was never fun just to like the main character, after all.

After having reliving the adventure in Wonderland, Exodus closed the book and leaned back in his chair, hugging it to his chest. His mind wandered to the realm of possibilities and what sort of life he would have if there had been a small someone to share his love of books with. He had always been an old soul, but he enjoyed things of fantasy and the out there sort of things. Although he hadn't thought too much on such a thing before hand, Exodus had begun to think that something his life was lacking was a little bundle to share a love of adventure, fantasy, and wonder with through the written word. Yes... Yes... Maybe it was time to imbue a stone. He knew it would certainly be more than fun and books, but the thought was now something he very much couldn't put down like the best book one could ever have read.
