Morginn hummed happily as he strolled down the street, for once focused on something other than the cold weather. Not only had he managed to find the sale of the century, but because he'd bought so much the store had been willing to deliver to his dorm free of charge! His fingers itched to get to work on new outfits!
As he continued his way back towards the dorms something caught his eye. He slowed, then stopped. The color advertisements in the building's windows indicated a mixer was to take place. Morginn felt a huge stirring of interest, momentarily distracted from thoughts of sewing. He'd been here for a month or two now, studying diligently and trying to make friends and learn about Below, but he still didn't know as many people as he would have like. He certainly didn't have any "special" friends. This mixer could be a good chance for him to maybe meet someone! If nothing else maybe he could learn a bit more about Nightmares.
And...well. If he had to be honest, he really liked the thought of imbuing a stone. Having a cute little baby to dress up? Yes please! Of course that wasn't his only motivation. Morginn really liked kids. They had so much energy and such an interesting way of viewing the world around them. And maybe this was a bit selfish of him, but he was lonely. There weren't really many Fey or Dryads around. He liked several of the people he'd met and talked with so far, but he still found himself with a lot of alone time on his hands. He wanted something he could lovely wholeheartedly that would love him back! His lovely familiars were quite sweet, but it just wasn't the same.
As he yearned towards the building housing the mixer, a small part of him did worry a bit over potentially imbuing a stone with a Nightmare. There was still a subtle prejudice against Daydreams here and there, a sidelong glance or negative comment. Historically speaking Feys were considered war profiteers, and even if that was far from the truth there would be those who believed. He didn't worry that a partner would hold his race against him. It took a lot of effort to imbue a stone, and if they really didn't want to be near him then the imbuing would never take. Still, he didn't know if certain races of Nightmare had odd customs for raising children. And if he got looks and whispers, what would a half Nightmare half Daydream child get?
Morginn shook his head. He was being overthinking! He was just as likely, if not more likely, to imbue with a Daydream, if he chose to imbue a stone with someone at all. And even if all his worst fears came to fruition, there was a simple solution. His family in Above wouldn't care if a relative was half Nightmare! He could sell clothes up there just as well as down here, and he had a decent knowledge of fashion from both worlds!
Determined to have a good time and maybe find someone who could help him make something that would change his life, Morginn crossed the street and marched into the mixer building.
