Rasiel didn't exactly know where he was going anymore. What had happened? He was trying to regain control of the situtation, why was he here? Where was here?
He looked out over the lake. Why? Why always this lake? He looked down to his right hand, he was holding his violin. How did he even get that? Where had he been? He felt something hot fall across his face as he reached the other hand up to feel tears on his cheek. Why was he crying? It seemed he had already cast aside his mask a while ago, but how long ago was that?
He tilted his head to look up at the sky, remembering the events of that evening. He had gone to visit Zaku, right on schedule. He had brought his violin to play for him, hoping one day it would reach him and he'd wake up. However, when he arrived, the nurses were in a bit of a panic. Rasiel's heart sank, fearful of what they'd tell him. He was awake, they had said. His heartbeat quickened. He bolted down the hall to seem him. Bursting through the door he stared wide-eyed at Zaku, tears filling his eyes. He was so relieved to finally see Zaku again. Though, at a very inopportune time of his life.
He embraced him hard, talking faster than he needed, telling him how much he had been missed. Zaku had the same bright smile as always, but something was off. Who are? his heart sank deeper than it ever had before. All of his memories of him had vanished. He remembered every single thing except anything to do with Rasiel. Conveniently. And he had a good idea of how this came to be. Rasiel lied to Zaku, making him seem like less of an important person in Zaku's life. He had decided to gracefully bow out of his life. Rasiel couldn't handle losing Zaku completely to Obscurite's wrath again. He cared too much. They talked for a bit, but not much could be said.
Rasiel had left, breaking into a run until he was home within the grounds of the sanctuary again. He had found himself at the lake like he always did. He sighed and pulled his violin close to his chin. He began to play, shutting out all the voices in his mind before they could get loud enough to overpower him.
The moon was beautiful as he stared into it, reminded of how dark and elegant his late sister was. Everything that had come to this point was overwhelming as he desperately tried to ignore the flame igniting within him.

Kreios Meical had never step foot on Academy grounds when it was open. In fact, he'd just barely been a toddler when the whole thing had been shut down and spent his entire life living among humans and other non-Meta creatures. News of the Sanctuary opening had come slowly to him - though he'd known that it was going to happen a few years before the place had actually opened its doors. Such was his life - he made his living off of fortunes, most of which came true, or were at least eerily accurate. But it wasn't an easy life by any means - the stigma of being a Meta still lingered in the backdrop of his days though he mostly knew how to deal with it before it became a real problem.
Still, curiosity had gotten the better of him. A Sanctuary for Metas - specifically Metas - that promised a safe-haven from discrimination. This he simply had to see. Of course, by the time he'd finally arrived, it was already well past sunset. The gate was open anyway, something he'd regard as foolish belief that none would trespass with intent to do harm. One look at it and he knew - some day great pain would come through these gates.
He didn't bother with the main building. No one would be inside, or at least, no one should be inside. Instead, he took to following one of the many pathways around it - and eventually found himself headed towards the outer grounds, where a strange sound reached his ears... Someone was playing a violin...
He found himself drawn in by it, part curiosity for the actual player, part intuition telling him he should follow it. Though once the player came into view, he made no effort to get much closer. The song was a sad one, perhaps indicative of the player's mood. It would be... rude, to intrude. So he remained a fair distance away, simply observing - attention occasionally drawn in by the gentle waves of the lake near by.

Rasiel finished the song, pulling the bow away from the violin as it slowly drew down. His hand falling to his side, and eventually letting go of the violin as he thudded hard in the soft grass. He stood there, staring up at the moon and stars for a bit, closed his eyes then sighed. He should probably go to check up on Deskri, he had thought, as he turned to retrieve the case a little ways from him. He knew his mask was inside it, as he hadn't realized he wasn't wearing it until just before he played. He figured it wasn't exactly necessary at the moment since he didn't think anyone would be walking around at this hour.
As he turned, something caught his eye as his body froze up. Someone was standing some distance from him, watching him. He felt ashamed and embarrassed until it set in that this person could possibly see his markings. The panic was starting to set in as dread filled his stomach and he hesitated. He didn't know what to do, had they seen him? Maybe he could still get away without being noticed. If only he could move. This scene seemed so familiar but he couldn't place it at the moment.

Ah, yes, it seemed he was correct. The player was not in the best of moods, if anything was to be taken by his body language. Such carelessness with his instrument - and complete disregard for his surroundings. Whomever he was, he must believe this place to truly be a safe-haven. He couldn't help but think to himself that if he had been someone who meant harm, this individual would likely be in need of assistance right about now.
He blinked as the man turned and locked eyes with him - though still made no movement to get closer. He was not sure if this person could be a potential threat to his own being - why would he get closer? Though, the more he stared, the more he picked up on nervousness. Or was it fear? Whatever it was, the man was not moving.
What to do, what to do... He'd never really been one for initiating conversations, most people came to him, rather than the other way around. So for now, he settled on a simple nod of acknowledgement. That would have to do.

Rasiel received a nod. What did that mean? Was that a guesture that everything was okay? That he wasn't going to turn him in? That he wasn't going to hurt him?
He nodded back slowly. Still embarassed, he moved a hand up to cover his markings over the right side of his face, eyes darting to the floor for a moment. He had never seen this Meta before in his life, and were those.. horns? And a tail?
"...an incubus.." he spoke aloud by accident. It was not exactly hard to identify them with their distinct features. He was hesitant, still standing there.
'Say something, idiot.' Don't. You don't deserve friends. 'Come on, anything!' He's going to know who you are.
He kept the side of his face covered as he looked to the other person, staring back in further silence.

Acknowledgement. Good. He blinked, eyes narrowing as the man raised a hand to cover his face - or at least part of it... Was he self-conscious? Something was bothering him about it. Or perhaps it was a motion in reference to his own markings. Neither option particularly mattered to him, he wasn't insecure about his own markings and didn't really care if the man was about his.
An incubus. An obvious statement. His tail twitched, swishing slightly as he measured how he felt about such a statement. Was it just something stupid that had come out of his mouth, or a statement of surprise? Were incubi particularly rare around here? He wasn't sure. "Yes, an Incubus." He finally answered, voice low and calm despite the flurry of thoughts dancing across his mind. The man had no outward physical differences between a Meta or a human, though he had been told there were Metas that resembled humans in their appearance almost completely.

The incubus seemed calm and unbothered by him. Which was comforting. Rasiel had to make a decision. Would he run from his problems yet again? Delilah had already told him he should stop running from his problems. The other meta had surely seen his marking already, so there was no use hiding it. He pulled his hand back down slightly, trying to keep his face stern like he did when he was a teenager. Trying to seem calm, even though his eyes would betray him, showing he had still been upset about something deep down.
He nodded again. 'Stop nodding. He got it the first time. Say something.'
He was already mentally kicking himself over contributing to the awkward silence that surrounded them. "How long... were you standing there?..." he managed to blurt out, another mental kick. 'Good going, how about introducing yourself.'
"I'm..... I'm..." he debated on whether to give his real name. He figured it would be useless to try and hide it now. If he tried to say he was Rhun, then they'd surely know the connection soon enough.
"I'm Rasiel." he introduced himself, taking a step closer and his eyes trying to remain stern and focused. He still didn't have control over his emotions, and he wasn't about to let it get out of hand now. Not in front of strangers.

An inquiry as to how long he'd been there... how long had he been there? He reflected on it for a moment before finally answering, "only a few minutes." He nodded again, head tiling to one side. The other man seemed very nervous. About what he couldn't possibly imagine - he didn't really think of himself as an intimidating person but he supposed the poor lighting and the strangeness of himself might add to that...
Rasiel. That was his name. He seemed to be putting on a show now, all stern-faced and strong despite the clear insecurity he'd shown earlier... He decided he would allow him that safety - even if it was false. "Kreios." He answered with his own name - though made no move to get closer or back up. He would allow the timid other to approach him on his own time.

Rasiel was internally relieved that the other person hadn't reacted negatively to his name and didn't seem to know who he was. Who he had been. Though, a good sign in this moment, it wouldn't be too long before he probably found out what people said about him.
Only a few minutes. So the other Meta probably saw him playing but not crying. That was good. He hated to let other people see him cry, especially those he was not close to.
Kreios. Rasiel had definitely never heard this name before, and not only did he know most Metas born there because of his mother, but he had gone through all the files upon arriving on the grounds not to long ago. He either was never born here or was too young to even have a file. Neither truly mattered to him.
'Say something. You're making it awkward again.'
"Do you... even know who I am?... Or do you just not care?" he was blunt in his question, this was something he had to know. Though, in the long run, the answer could be a lie. A trap to lure him into a false sense of security. He kept eyes locked on the purple-eyed incubus, as he stood taller than him, though he couldn't tell exactly by how much because of the horns.
He seemed so calm. So collected. Rasiel blinked as he shifted his gaze to the violin case and then back at Kreios, looking at his markings. They looked a little similar to his own. Just a little. He didn't know how to read this person. To be honest, this was the first new person he had met since Zaku and it was a little jarring trying to remember how to act. What to say.

The questions warranted a quirk of a brow. Was he expected to know who this man was? He blinked, shifting his weight from one foot to another as he considered the question... Rasiel... No, he wasn't familiar with the name in the slightest and... honestly he did not care. "Both." He finally answered, then a moment later, realized he should elaborate. "I am not familiar with your name, and nor do I care about it." He supposed that would do for now.
Rasiel was still looking nervous - judging from the way he glanced at his violin case. The examination of his face was nothing new - he was used to it. Many people often stared, though it was usually at his horns. "It seems I've interrupted." He stood up straighter, intending to turn and leave. He knew when his presence was not particularly desired.

The fact that Kreios didn't seem to know anything about him came as a surprise to him. He didn't figure there were very many people who didn't know about him by now. Not after all that happened. Kreios seemed.. cold. Something that intrigued him in comparison to other people he had met. In fact, this was the first time he'd met someone like this. It was a new experience and he wasn't sure how he felt about it, but he wanted to know more.
Kreios turned to leave, thinking he interrupted something. "No, wait." he spouted out suddenly, extending a hand slightly as if to tell him to stop. He retracted slightly, still nervous but took a deep breath, trying to relax. "You weren't.. interrupting anything." he glanced over to his violin laying in the grass not too far from him. "I was just... It calms me." he was trying desperately to get his words to cooperate. He had been so flustered from earlier that he was still attempting to regain his stature. Something that was much harder to do without his mask. He shifted slightly, wanted to just disappear forever out of sheer embarrassment for himself. "Are you a meta?" he asked, shaking his head lightly, "Oh course he's a Meta, stupid."
"I'm.. a demon. Meta." he hesitated, "Violin." he simply could not get his words to cooperate with him as he just began to list things as though they were supposed to make sense but he knew they really didn't.

He paused, waiting as he'd been asked to. He examined Rasiel, his tone, his body language... He was obviously unpracticed in how to deal with others - something that seemed off for a man that expected his name to be known. "Yes. As you stated earlier, I am an Incubus." He nodded, patiently answering his question again despite the obvious self-reprimanding his was giving himself.
Ah, so he was a demon. A slightly more common variety of his own subspecies.. He wondered where his wings had gotten to - briefly, but then brushed the idea aside. It wasn't his business. "Tarot cards." He offered up his item in return. So, he wasn't unarmed at all. It was a good thing he hadn't gotten too close, but he figured he was already well within the dangerous range.

Rasiel wasn't familiar with what kind of powers a tarot card Meta might have, in fact, he didn't know much about tarot cards in general, the only thing he knew was that they were used to tell fortunes maybe. So maybe he could see things others couldn't. Like Mirabelle. Rasiel felt bad that he was making Kreios repeat himself. He wanted to hold a conversation with him, but seemed to be failing pretty miserably. But yet the incubus was still there. Still talking to him. Rasiel noticed that he was still calm and well put together. He envied that.
"Sorry." he muttered softly.
'Come on, get it together. You act like this is some big deal talking to people. You've talked to so many people in your life. Why is this any different?"
It would be too impersonal to ask what his item did for him. Maybe he should ask a different question. Anything just to continue the conversation. "..what brings you here?" his question was vague, though he didn't really mind how he took the question, it was unintentional but ultimately served a purpose.
Maybe Kreios was bored with him or just plain uninterested. Rasiel's thoughts began to race too much as he couldn't exact keep control of them.
He doesn't care. He's just being nice And then he'll leave. You'll never see him again.
Rasiel sighed, closing his eyes as he just tried to gather his thoughts into a slightly coherent mess. Anything to get the voices to stop right now.

An apology... he chose to ignore it. There wasn't any need for it in the first place. Rasiel seemed to be doing a lot of thinking, though he couldn't imagine what it was about. Himself? The fumbling of his social cues? He wasn't particularly sure if he cared to ask - it was likely that he wouldn't get an answer, anyway.
Ah, another question about himself. He debated for a moment at what length he should answer it, after all he could sum it up with one word: curiosity. But, one-word responses made for poor conversation and it was clear that this Meta was trying to engage in one, despite his fumbling.
"Curiosity. I received... news... and felt inclined to investigate." He shrugged - just slightly - and then glanced around the lake area again before settling on Rasiel once more. "So far it seems... lacking."

Rasiel was back and forth in his mind to continue the conversation, Kreios did not particularly interested in him and maybe he was just bothering him now with his attempts to continue the exchange of words.
"The outside wasn't cared for well... The inside is much better."
He means you.
A sharp pain in his chest from the jab of the voice. Maybe it was right. Rasiel took a deep breath and took a calm step back toward his violin, picking it up carefully as he moved to put it back in its case.
"Is there... anything you want to know?" he asked, his nervousness gone, replaced by defeat and regret. As he placed the violin away, he glanced at the mask inside the case. If only he had just kept it on, he could have probably played this all off easily and Rhun could have held a better conversation. Rhun was much more likable.
He closed his eyes and latched the case, coming to a stand with the care still in his hand. He hadn't decided if he was going to leave, and even so where he was going to go if he did leave. He looked at Kreios, not even trying to fake being stern at this point. Rasiel knew his emotions were so out of control without the mask that it was no use in hiding it. As Rasiel, he wore his heart on his sleeve despite his better efforts to conceal it. It had always been that way. Even since he was a kid.
"I can answer your questions if you have any." he offered calmly, standing in the soft moonlight with the incubus.
