Arron had just come from a rather long and luxurious bathing session, nothing beat a bath in Jauhar if one had to bath and he was much more tolerant of it now since he had gotten a little older. A cool breeze brushed by him, reminding him of Sauti and he snugged his towel closer for warmth, so much for tropical flare, he glared at the invisible wind and marched over to his clothes, divesting himself of towel he changed quickly so he would not burn out any retina's if he were chanced upon. Idly he sang a tune as he packed up his bathing things to head back to the house full of shifters and his dear mother.
It was a calm day, a quiet day, one in a long line of quiet days and he sighed wistfully wondering where Drexl, Lixes and Jerami had wandered off to.

They were a long way from home, but the Ice man didn't mind. As long as nature was red of tooth and claw then he was at home... at least for a while anyway. It had been a long time since he was in Jahuar, and he wasn't alone. As he walked with the little girl in the shrieking jungle, Ruelash suddenly let go of her hand. ”Hey, Volka.” The Ice tribesman held up a glittering bug, kneeling as he presented it to her. ”Look at this.”

The little girl looked at the bug, and looked at it, and looked at it a little longer before deciding that she wasn't impressed. ”What is it?” she asked, glancing back up at Ruelash. She knew he wasn't her father, but he'd raised her as long as she could remember, which wasn't that long she supposed, but he was what she had. Surely, there was something more to this bug than it's... buggyness.

Ruelash grinned, a frightening, feral thing if you weren't used to it. Many an enemy had seen that grin and shuddered to their very bones. But, Ruelash knew, his grin didn't scare her. Not that he cared either way. ”It's a shiny frostin' bug, that's what!” he said, wiggling it in front of her, ”And it glows. Ain't that something?”

Volkarosh looked at it. She was still unimpressed. ”Is it important?” she asked finally. Sometimes, her friend showed her things that were unimpressive, yet important. Vitally important. That was how they had survived, and it was how she had learned what things were good to eat, and what things to watch out for when hunting. Maybe this was secretly important, too...

”Nah, it's just sparkly.” Ruelash admitted, shrugging. ”I thought girls liked sparkly things...” he teased her. The joke was on him, too. He had no idea what little girls wanted... that was, normal little girls who didn't like skinning beasts and preparing meat. He'd done what he could though. How could he not? She'd been all alone, and he'd been the only one there for her... ”It's also not bad eatin. Or poison... lets see which!” he said, making to pop it into his mouth and giving her a sly look.

”Lashy, no!” Volkarosh scowled at him. Eating bugs?! That was gross. She glowered at him, hands on hips, until he tossed it away. This was how she usually got her way, but really, both he and she knew that he didn't really lose their arguments... he just let her win.

”Allright, allright, lets get us some real grub...” He handed her her little bow and her arrows – her weapons of choice. He'd made them for her, and crude as they were, he'd seen her take down some impressive prey with them... he was so proud. He listened, carefully, and his eyes narrowed in a very predatory way. ”There's something nearby. Lets be ready for it, ai'ght??” He patted her on the shoulder. ”Take a look around, eh?”

Arron was on his way back to the house where the trail narrowed and he had to squeeze himself between some overcurious bushes, he patted the long thorns out of his way and mossied on carefully there was no need to bloody up freshy bathed and tender skin, otherwise it would be back to the bath to was out the wounds and one bath was enough for one day. He knew he was making a racket but if anything only the family radaku would be around to pester him, Seza's pups were little menaces when they were let out, if they came he would fall into the prickle bushes for sure. He peered anxiously down the trail hoping he wouldn't get a puppy surprise but so far so good.

Volkarosh nodded and crept into the brush, wary at every unfamiliar sound. This was a long way from from their home. The wilderness and the Tale had taught her to be ready for anything. And to keep calm. She almost started at the racket, staring at the... person. ”There's a person there...” she whispered, peering out. She felt her little heart beat extra fast... people were so rare for her, and many of them... attacked. Or died. Sometimes, they did both. She had learned to be very careful with people.

Ruelash, however, was not afraid of anybody. ”Oh Ya?” Ruelash peered out of the bushes and smirked. Odd to see a leaf tribesman in the jungle. Odder still, one with blue hair. Something twitched in Ruelash's mind, but he didn't make a connection... not yet. ”Hey, lets give him a scare – show me what ya can do with yer bow.” he lifted her arms, ”See that towel he has? Give it a shot.” His grin widened – as much mischeif as malice - ”Bet you can do it.” And indeed, he had a lot of confidence in her abilities. She was a good shot... her grandma had taught her, and Ruelash had just worked on what they had started. What a huntress he'd made. He was so proud...

Volkarosh stared at Lashy, eyes wide in the darkness. ”Really... I...” she hesitated, initially – she'd never done something so dangerous to another person before. But Volkarosh... sort of wanted to try it. The towel was a safe distance from the man (sort of) and she did like showing off her skills with the bow, especially to Lashy. He always got excited when she shot something. So, she took aim at the towel, nocked an arrow to the bow, and fired...
And missed the towel.
The arrow clanged off one of the crystals of the trees, breaking as it ricocheted to the ground. It may have missed its target and the man, but it, very likely, would not have escaped attention...

Arron froze at an odd sound nearby, slowly and painfully he turned to look behind him but there was no rabid radaku puppy about to chew his leg, there was a small broken arrow. He felt kind of sorry for it for a moment, it had been beautiful when it was whole a perfect miniature, now it was a broken useless shard. His brows furrowed, a broken shard that had been fired from what he assumed was a small bow, a small bow aimed at him although not well thank the gods. "Okay very funny Vallen, where did you get a bow that small? Is it poison tipped? Come on show me."

Awww. She'd missed.... but the reaction was still priceless. Stupid earthlings. Ruelash snorted a laugh. ”Next time,” he said, ”Hold the bow a little more like...” he gestured, unable to describe it, ”Or like...” another gesture.
Of course, she'd probably missed because it was a crappy bow and Ruelash had made it by hand. That it shot at all was kind of remarkable, he thought. That she could shoot it, moreover, was, in his book, very impressive. Anyway, tormenting people was fun and always worthwhile, but this was not the time to play bandit.
He had an agenda. He stepped out of the bushes, his grin wide, feral, and threatening as always.
”Might be poisoned.” he drawled, ”Wan' t' p***k yerself, and see?”

Volkarosh felt no small measure of shame as she missed (as well as relief that she hadn't hit the person), and Ruelash's advice only made her feel a little more miserable. The bow pulled to odd directions and didn't always shoot where aimed, but she usually hit things with it, and now... and now... She stood up abruptly as Ruelash revealed himself, following him in startled surprise. Why were they showing themselves? What was going on? Volkarosh had known that Lashy had had a reason for travelling to the jungle, but she hadn't thought about it. But now, with this sort of odd behavior, she found herself perplexed... and at a loss. This was not a part of their usual plan for things like this. So she had to improvise. She took out an arrow and held it up, not sure what else to do. ”It's not poisoned.” she informed him, ”It's just pointy.” She came up with a new plan. She nocked the arrow to the bow, holding it near her, and ready to swing it up and shoot in case she had to. ”Very pointy.”
