Name: Theriar

Stage: Prentice
Race: Ice Alk Hybrid
Gender: Boy
3 Base Traits:
Takes no crap - he is short on temper and not long on patience, so when something doesn't seem to go his way expect some volcanic activity.
Edgy - He will be often on the edge of violence, which gives his character a somewhat abrasive edge, he does not trust others easily. But once that trust is earned he will fight for them.
Defensive - He dislikes to see children or woman hurt and will jump to defend them, he is not fond of other males, and is more likely to fight them then not.

Personality: Theriar is usually quiet but is constantly holding a firey wrath in check, a lot of things annoy him and he really prefers to be alone thank you very much. However once you get past the extremely thick prickly hide that he presents to the world then you are the most protected thing ever. Once triggered he would hold nothing back, especially against males, alks are a grey area in that they are aggressive but at their core female. He would struggle with the concept of fighting them and basically base his actions off of what he picks up from their personality. He is very sensitive to such things, what body language says where words cannot. He is volatile and badass but not flamboyantly so. He doesn't try to hide it he would just rather not be out in public is all. Crowds unnerve him, and boistrous people are apt to drive him away. He would be dangerous if cornered and like a rabid animal if it came to a fight to escape with no one to protect. Those he wants to protect would be his biggest weakness.

Description: See references His crystals are numerous and clustered like a leopards which is what his basic concept was. Black hair, Yellow earthling eyes.

Clothing: See reference Minimal, nothing fancy, nothing to get entangled in.

Accessories: Just the necklace and the anklet.

History: Theriar is an ice alk hybrid raised in a place where it was not a great thing to be part alkidike. When the alks came though they took out his father who had broken a leg in the incident and couldn't continue to fight, thankfully they didn't kill him, which left his mother who had hidden unprotected from the ravages of the beasts. She carries radaku scars. Both of his parents were also Ice-alks who had settled in the wrong place at the wrong time to raise their son. They had kept mostly to themselves and lived outside of town with few friends due to their mostly solitary nature. There was no one to turn to when the violence was rained down upon Jauhar during the war with the alks. It was only after that one of their few friends, an alk by the name of Mezira came to check on them. The house was a ruin, his father had fought the invasion and lost, she patched him up as best as she could before looking for his mother who had taken him and hid in the forest to be attacked by radaku not much later. She managed to get them both up into the tree but was not without long lasting scars from the drama of the events. Theriar remained unscathed for the most part. Mezira found the pair there and extracted them from the trees and took them back to the house.

What made him dislike males so much? Why not the alkidike who attacked his family?

Does he treat women and children differently than he would treat someone else? Like is he still edgy and short tempered with them as well even though he tries to defend them?

His history is just a little confusing. Did his mother die? Does he still live with his father?

What is his family history like? How did he end up with both parents being the same alk/ice hybrid and why did they choose to stay in Jauhar? Did his parents follow the alk or earthling traditions? Did they have to go to Aisha to conceive, or did they both have the ability for earthling reproduction? (and if it was the earthling way, was he an accident?)

What made him dislike males so much? Why not the alkidike who attacked his family? His dislike of males comes from a stereotypical propensity towards violence, the alkidike who attacked him were banished, his parents and Mezira made that quite clear so that he would not hate the ones that remained. He sees males as more likely to cause trouble with each other and with women. He has been pretty sheltered so far and does not know better.

Does he treat women and children differently than he would treat someone else? Like is he still edgy and short tempered with them as well even though he tries to defend them? Yes, he tends to avoid eye contact and try to get away unless he absolutely has to deal with them, He very much has trust issues which is why he prefers to be alone most of the time. He clams up and tried to deflect them away from him through boredom..sometimes hes not so successful. This is the time where he might talk enough just to get away.

His history is just a little confusing. Did his mother die? Does he still live with his father?

Both of his parents are a little mangled after the attack. His father can't quite walk properly anymore so vicious was the attack producing a compound fracture that shattered his leg. Theriar I think in his heart partially blames his father for not being able to protect him and his mother which may also play a part in his dislike of men. All bravado no bite. Even though his father was vastly outnumbered. As he ages Theriar will come to find how the world really works as opposed to how he thought it should as a youngling.
His mother didn't die but she bears terrible scars from the radaku attack. Now others look at his parents with horror. While he is still whole, so perhaps a little bit of survivors guilt as well clouds his judgement. His parents had meant the world to him, he thought they were invincible, Unfortunately he found out in traumatic fashion that they were not.

His parents met by coincidence in Jauhar, they were from two separate parts of Zena and had made the trek to the tree to say their prayers and be accepted by Aisha, they met in one of the mini villages and stayed there together as friends, which eventually formed into a relationship. They went back to their families once or twice then decided that they as a couple would stay in Jauhar, neither was overly fond of the Zenan climate. His parents follow a mixed tradition with mostly earthling tendancies, zenan food when they can get it and a healthy dose of regular Aisha visits when managable.
They both had the ability for earthling reproduction and Theriar was planned..if they could not concieve through earthling methods they would have gone to Aisha. His mother went to Aisha frequently during the pregnancy for comfort and whatever guidance she could glean from the tree. Grandmother's are awesome like that.

I guess the real question is did his parents follow the earthling classes or the alkidike? Which one they chose to follow indicates a lot about what their relationship is like with the other alkidike or with other earthlings. If they were mostly following earthling ways, then they were probably not allowed to visit Aisha, since that is reserved for 'true Sisters'. (And if the mother chose to visit Aisha while she was pregnant the earthling way she wouldn't have been well received at all)

How does Theriar feel about earthling culture? How does he feel about Alkidike culture?

They followed the earthling classes. I was not aware of that part of alk culture i thought half alks would be allowed to visit with the extremists gone, be more open minded and all. My bad, I don't have any full blooded alks so im still sketchy on their core traditions.

Theriar prefers earthling culture, probably partially because of the attack and he admires the diversity and the freedom of it as opposed to the strict tradition of the alks something he inherited from his parents. Especially since they follow the earthling traditions.
