If you had ever visited the Light temple, you would be surprised by the level of grandois that the modern looking temple had to it. It looked flashy and expensive whereas the Dark temple looked humble and ancient. (As a temple should.) There was a rumour that it never got dark around here because of the light tablet's affects. It was, after all a tablet of ancient magic that involved the highest forms of light and purity. As such, it was taken care of to the best of everyone's abilities. Priests swarmed the area, there was no room for women among them, or so they said. There were living quarters all over the place and each priest had his own set of rooms. There were no civilians living here, only priests and holy things.
If you compared the two temples, (Dark and Light) the Light would appear to be far superior. At second glance though...?
((Here you can only be a priest. No flaming me for the opposite roles as of yet. You don't know what I have planned.))

((hm, so RPing has started eh? maybe i should start this one.....))
Kazuko walked casually up to the tablet. She held out her hand to touch it, but held back and receded her hand back to her side. Such a thing........to be used for evil in the hands of the good..... She looked around at all the spectators, priests, and the decorations; false offerings. Shall i stir a few things up a bit?

Someone....is watching me.... Kazuko looked around nonchalantly to see if she could identify the stalker, though she knew he was no stalker, just someone who had noticed her. Then, she saw him. He had cought her glance for just a fraction if a second and looked away. Kazuko turned towards his direstion and started walking, focusing her eyes away from him, but enough so that she could see him within her pererfereal vision. As kazuko walked past him, she stopped behind him. "...So you've noticed me, huh......" She titlted her head slightly and looked at him sideways.

Kazuko then suddenly froze. She had no more business here, for she was needed elsewhere. In a blink of an eye, she was gone....

Shaiya approached the altar at a deliberatly slowed pace. Her normally flamboyant brocade had been discarded, and she now wore a modest robe of white silk , her long tresses bound tightly in a knot at the back of her head. She wore no adornment but for a slender circlet resting upon her brow displaying her rank, and the pendant which was uniform among the priesthood. She nodded gravely to the many men and woman who sat in the benches that lined the room, who promplty stood and bowed as she passed them. Upon the altar itself rested the tablet of light. As always a faint murmuring resounded in her ears, as she prostrated herself before the ancient and holy artifact. The day was rainy, and a bonechilling wind rattled through the trees outside, though the temple was as bright as a mid-summer day. Though the only actual sources of light were the flickering braziers on either side of the altar the light glowed in every miniscule corner of every room to leave no shadows. In her girlhood when sha had first journeyed to this place to take up her position she had found the absolute absense of dark inside the temple eerie, chills running up her spine every time she entered through the heavily guarded entrace to be totally bathed in a glow so intense it left spots in her vision before her eyes had gradually become accostomed to the drastic change. Reaching into her robes she drew out a packet of insense, sprinkling it over the braziers, and then knelt down in vigil.

She wasn't one for fancy-ness and such things...when she'd seen this temple, she hadn't wanted to go in. (Though she did, however reluctantly...) Now that she was in, she wished she could go back. The priests all had a distinct aura of taint around them, most of the worshipers did as well. The total absense of light in even the deepest corners disturbed her too. The only pure priest or priestess seemed to be the one praying at the altar.
The whole temple stank of corruption and manipulation. In the center of it all was a glowing slab of rock. It was about 2x2 1/2' and it had odd runes carved onto its surface. The stone was stained white and the grooves that made the runes were stained light blue. (She thought that it must be some otherwordly substance, as both colors were pure and didn't look like any paint or stain that she knew of.) It dawned on her that this must be the famous Temple of Light that everyone was talking about as of late. (She'd heard of its counter-part too, though it was spoken of in a not-so-nice way...)

((Indeed Aureae))
Her eyes snapped open, as she turned once again to face the people gathered in the temple. Closing her eyes, she clasped her hands together, and murmured a swift prayer, for the malevolent thoughts of the men, and women gathered here clawed at the edges of her awareness. lifting up the hem of her robe, she stepped up onto the marble platform, set just behind the alter, and gazed out at the crowd, tears gathered in the corners of her eyes, and threatening to spill. These people didn't belong in this place she resolved, her curved mouth in a grim line, and a furrow between her brows. "If this one might make a request worshippers..." She sbegan, " The thoughts of a scarce few are interfering with this ones worship, and quite possibly that of others. So if My request might be heard, I would be much oblidges if the offending persons would please take their leave." She stepped down with a heavy sigh, as a few men stalked off grumbling to themselves. The few people who attended worship regularly all knew that if any with unholy thoughts came into her presense and refused to leave when asked, that Shaiya would gladly begin to read their thoughts aloud, as if that persons mind where a book. Indeed the priestess possesed strange powers, and most people were afraid to cross her, for beneath her placid exterior she had a firey(sp) temper. And if that wasn't enough to protect her than she had the aid of other unearthly biengs one could only imagine... Plus there was the hot tempered red-head, and her child who always resided in the next room. Freya, for that was the girls name, Would not hesitate to make any person who disturbed her, or anyone she cared for , a head shorter. In fact upon her arrival, she had had to demonstrate just how srious she was about her threats, by beheading a middle aged man who had tryed to attack the quiet child at her side. Screaming profanities the man had advanced, a cruel looking knife in hand. Freya simmply sighed, and with a lead, and flick of her sword sent his head rolling.

The last few weeks had gone by to quick for Freya's liking, now, the time had come for the trio to continue their journey. Jadeira cried softly, as they saddled their mounts, The young woman had especially enjoyed their time here, she had made a few friends among the serving woman, and the cook had treated her with more kindness than she had ever known from any stranger. Shaiya was back to normal. Freya herself was happy about that, the little elf had been acting different since they arrived, and admittedly Freya had been beginning to miss their little quarrels.
Finally mounted, and fully loaded, they wheeled their mounts and started up the cobbled road to the great highway that led to Domachi.
