Monsters?
Prompt 1

Solo or RP Format
Can be used toward Solo or RP req

With the recently discovered Yaeli, the land of Tendaji has been abuzz with talk and gossip about their new neighbors. They're odd, they're strange and skittish, their eyes glow - but that can't possibly be true most say - the word on the street is that they're starting to leave their island. Those that had met the Yaeli know that it's an odd thing to hear. They were terrified of the outsiders, why would they leave their safe villages...

Rumors are filling the toxic island where the Alkidikes extremists were banished along with the Matron. Rumors of monsters clawing their way out of the earth with oil black skin and glowing evil eyes that are even weirder than the strange monsters that landed upon their shores just one year ago. The Yaeli say that their gaze can steal the soul of any person dumb enough to get too close and they're vicious beings trying to take their children.

These rumors have reached the main land as well, mostly through the few Yaeli that have decided they would rather face the scary but similar earthling races than to have to find out what the terrifying monsters want with them and their land.

Is there any truth to these rumors or are the Yaelians seeing things?

Gossip that was brought to the marketplace tended to move fast, going by word of mouth, person to person, and it was often times twisted. It made him wonder what among the rumors that he was currently hearing from a rather chatty pair of Oban ladies was truth, and what was fiction, as well as if any of it would be useful to him. He wasn't really sure, from the sounds of it all of what they were talking about was going on in the far away land of Yael where Shesha would never step foot.

Lifting his hands to adjust his veil over his head to protect himself from the sun he said, "I can't say that I have any interest in visiting what everyone is calling the 'toxic island'. Can you imagine if those monsters were actually real? It would just be one more glaring reason why that place is good only for banishing the worst of the worst." He could think of a few people from his past that he'd like to end up there among the poison and the inky, soul stealing monsters... but he'd keep that thought to himself. Instead he'd merely continue to enjoy chatting with the pair of ladies.

One of them lifted the fan in her hand, fanning herself, and said, "Oh dear, I can't even imagine! I mean monsters that steal souls and children? It's terrifying to even think about! To think that we have always been as close as we are to Yael without even knowing about it! What if some of their monsters somehow got to our shores? It would be terrible!"

The other one nodded rapidly, "It would, it would! Let's just hope that the ocean been us and them is enough to keep all of them at bay." She said, clinging to her friend's arm.

Shesha nodded, "Hmmm... well, those who were banished there as well as the monsters, but as far as the tribe that lives there goes I am a touch curious. I would like to maybe see one of them again, see if the rumors about them are true, and ask them about the inky soul thieves." There were other things he'd like to know about as well, like what brought their tribe to live there in the first place. On top of that, was it true what was said about them? He'd heard that they were terrified of everything, not wanting to make friends outside of their own, which made Shesha so curious! What were the standoffish tribe like? What did they do all day? What did they do for fun?

"It might not happen, I hear that they are a tribe that wants nothing to do with anyone other then themselves. That means that the chances of meeting one were already low... but now that there are monsters roaming around! I mean... would they even leave their homes now?" The girl with the fan asked.

"Oh, oh... who knows? I mean... I know I wouldn't leave home if there monsters around that might want to eat my soul!" The clingy one said, shaking her head rapidly. The idea of monsters was just too scary for her it would seem.

There was a thoughtful hum from Shesha before he gave a nod of his head, "You could be right." The chances of actually seeing a member of that mysterious tribe were probably little to none, but maybe one day, if the monsters were somehow cleared out from the island. Though what were they, that was the question. The descriptions of them, at least what they were hearing through the gossip chain, made them seem like something quite creepy. Some sort of beast that rose out of the earth, seemingly made of black ink, that would meet the eyes of anyone that saw them, stealing away their souls! It was frightening enough to make him wonder if it were some sort of dark spirit?

What might bring forth dark spirits on the island? It couldn't be a good thing, not when the spirits were targeting children. While he had no interest in children, being around them or having them, he didn't care for the idea of them being dragged off by monsters. Glancing away, around the area, then back again Shesha said, "Well, here's to hoping they stay on the toxic island. We are far too beautiful to be bothered by those inky monsters." A comment that had the two girls perking up a bit before they started laughing along with Shesha.
