Plainly put, Abigail was tired of living alone. She was a social creature, in most cases, and she had spent far too much time by herself as of late. Certainly, she had made friends since coming to Destiny City, but having friends wasn't quite the same as having a housemate . After all, friends didn't typically split the grocery tab or any other housing costs... With a sigh of resignation and a bit of determination, Abigail had started browsing through the housing listings on the campus website. "No, no... No . Ugh. No . Wait..." She scrolled back up past a header she had almost missed, brow lofting slightly. "Looks mostly normal," she murmured to herself as she clicked on the link to open up the ad, skimming over it quickly before sending the originator a message. Interested in the position if it hasn't been filled. Meet at the Shufflepuck for coffee/tea to discuss? 11am Tuesday work for you?

Basil was, if nothing else, particularly prompt. He'd moved into his new, off-campus apartment and had immediately set about putting up an add on the school's internet bulletin board seeking a roommate. Rent was not high, exactly, but Basil was not made of money, and working as he did barely evened things out.
It had been a few days now with no reply. Basil wondered if it was because of the long list of requirements that he'd listed underneath his email address, but they weren't ridiculous, merely requests. Such as the no pets rule, or the please be respectful of the property one. Common sense things that shouldn't have been a deterrent.

 Apparently they were. Alas.

But his phone gave a ding sometime later, and as Basil pulled up the email, he found, to his surprise, a note from a potential interested party. He read it over for a minute, debated, and then gave a satisfactory nod to himself before typing a reply.
Skye Starrfyre Miss Doyle - This sounds perfectly agreeable. I will meet you at the requested time and place. - Basil Whybourne

Skye Starrfyre Mister Whybourne - Wonderful! I've got blonde hair and I'll wear a galaxy sweater. - Abigail Doyle [Attachment ] :: Download File GalaxySweater.png Y/N After sending off another message it was simply a matter of waiting for Tuesday. --------------- When that day rolled around Abigail tugged her sweater on over a pair of leggings, topping it off with a pair of boots on her feet, a scarf around her neck and a slouch beanie on top of her head. The weather had gotten a bit colder, finally and she was enjoying being able to wear some of her cute wintry things. She checked her phone once more to make certain that she hadn't missed a message cancelling their meeting before heading out the door. The Shufflepuck cafe wasn't too far from the campus and it made for a good meeting place. They had good drinks tossed together by an incredible barista, tasty snacks of a wide variety and she couldn't recall a time when she hadn't been able to find a table when she had needed one to chat at.

Basil arrived in his usual attire - a pair of dark slacks and a vest, black button down shirt, and tie, which he straightened carefully as he walked into the cafe. He glanced around curiously, his eyes looking for someone in the sweater that matched the picture, and spotted a young woman lingering near the bar.
He looked at his phone at the picture then back up again before pocketing the device and making his way towards her.

"Abigail Doyal?" Basil asked precisely, bypassing any hesitancy for straightforwardness. He stuck out a hand. "I'm Basil Whybourne."

"A pleasure to meet you, Mister Whybourne." She smiled brightly as she slid her hand into his, giving it a firm shake before drawing her hand back so that she could make a gesture at the menu board. "Would you like something to drink? My treat, if you do." She knew what she would like to drink at least and had been pondering whether or not she wanted to order something to nibble on while they chatted. In the end she'd likely skip snacks, not wanting to get so distracted by munching on things that she forgot about something important. It hadn't been too long since breakfast anyways.

"Just Basil is fine," he said, almost automatically, just barely restraining a wince at his last name. "I'm glad to know that I picked the right person in the crowd. It's a pleasure to meet you, Abigail - shall we sit down and discuss things?"
Her question made him pause, and after a moment's consideration, Basil said, "Yes, a drink would be lovely. Perhaps a black or chamomile tea, unless you have a suggestion...?"
