zeffer and strykes pics when im not tired lol Zeffer yawned as he headed out of the outpost, the sky still a bit light above the trees as he made his way into the swamp. Because he still had a patrol later on, he'd risen early to meet up with Stryke, the first troll to express an interest in his call for some 'friendly sparring'. The blueblood was excited; apparently Stryke had discovered some innate abilities of his own during the cavern disaster, and he was excited to see them in action.
It didn't take long for him to find the area he'd cleared. It was a good size, and on a relatively firm patch of ground. Even though they needed to be ready in any kind of situation, getting muddy and wet usually wasn't a very preferable way to start the evening, so he would go easy on his challengers, for the moment.
Finding the place empty, he hung is jacket up on a tree and began to stretch while he waited for Stryke to show up.

The early night chill was pleasant, and helped to wake Stryke up as he left his hive. He’d made arrangements to meet with Zeffer before the next patrol was scheduled to change. He'd slept well enough the morning previous, and had drank a few cups of tea. It had helped clear the cobwebs. Yawning he stretched tiredly as he adjusted the holster containing his daggers. As he walked through the swamp, his mind wandered. Stryke still had a lot to learn about his new powers. Stryke didn't do much site seeing. He hadn’t brought his journal to work on maps, or do doodles in. Instead the yellowblood was intent on joining the blueblood for a sparring session. As he was already training with Byakko regularly, it surely couldn’t hurt. Pushing a gloved hand against an eye, he made his way towards the clearing, leaving the trees behind. He noticed the jacket, then the blueblood himself stretching nearby. "ah, good evening zeffer." Stryke greeted with an incline of his head. He slipped his own jacket off, resting it over a fallen log as he approached the other.

Zeffer was checking his batons as Stryke arrived, and he looked up to offer the yellowblood a grin. "Hey Ryk! Thanks for comin' so early." The blueblood smirked, batons crackling for a moment before he gave them a spin. Like Stryke, he also had a lot to learn, especially within the realm of control. The static on his body was almost a constant now, and he still had to be careful about what and who he touched with bare hands.
"Akko's told me a lot about about your new abilities...I can't wait to see 'em in action." He chuckled, spinning the batons again as he sauntered out to the middle of the clearing.
"Come at me whenever you're ready. And don't worry about holding back. I can handle it." And they had Vremea back in the village...in case anything really bad happened.

Stryke noted the way the other handled his batons, giving both them and the much larger troll a considering look. A genuine smile formed on the small teens face when he used his nickname. "it'sss not a problem zeffer really." He added as he placed a hand on his hip, head tipped back to look up to him.
He jumped slightly at the unexpected crackle from the batons. A dim glimmer of a yellow glow flickered around him.
Exhaling slowly he laughed sheepishly. "hasss she?" He echoed a curious look on his face. "hm..i'll do what i can, they still have a mind of their own." He pursed his lips at that thought.
Hopefully he didn't make a fool of himself in front of the head of security. Stryke rubbed his shoulder he moved to wander towards the opposite side in the clearing. Stryke wasn't sure he was ready for what was to come. Yet he wasn't willing to back down now. It was too late for that.
"..sssame for you." Quickly grabbing for his daggers, he rushed in. His swing was shy of actually connecting making for a rough start. Strykes glare said it all. don't you dare laugh.

Zeffer nodded, looking genuinely pleased, before an intrigued expression flashed over his features instead. He'd caught the yellow glow, and was more curious than ever. Stryke was one troll he'd been a bit worried about being too rough with, but there was only one way to find out. Once he gauged the yellowblood's capability, he would scale his approach ******** yeah. Show me what you got!" He was already laughing as the yellowblood lunged, ducking away and landing a light swat to Ryk's side.
"Gotta be faster than that, Ryk..." Zeffer taunted playfully. HP: 40/40 Standard Weapons Novice agility style B: 2 2d6 hits with +1 to accuracy to each on this attack (1/1) (4d6)

The yellowblood had taken a timely moment to try and initiate their combat. While Stryke thought highly of the older troll, this was a match they'd both agreed upon. He might have been physically smaller than Zeffer, but he'd taken a beating during training. Stryke was a hardy troll, and there was always Vremea back at the village if anything went too badly. "heh, fair enough." There was a genuine smirk there as he readied his weapons. Stryke clenched his teeth in an audible click of teeth when the other tapped his side however moments later. "ugh. i'll remember that." He added with a slightly sour tone, although it was matched with a fanged smile. Perhaps instead of talking fighting would be better. Stryke's attempt to move away from Zeffer had cost him a few moments on the battle field. When he went to make his next slash with his weapon, it too was a delayed reaction. Stryke scoffed at the others taunting, not realizing he’d left himself open to another attack. When Zeffer saw another opportunity to strike, he didn't waste it. He moved quickly, and jabbed a bit harder, coaxing an audible ZZT from his baton as it connected with the yellowblood's shoulder. Ryk seemed a little sluggish, but Zeffer had been the one to insist the early meeting, after all. Was he still a little dozy?
"It's all good, we're still warming up." Zeffer tried to offer something a bit more encouraging as he moved around the yellowblood, waiting once again for Ryk to come after him. If nothing else got Ryk moving, the repeated zaps would, Zeffer thought with a snicker.

Stryke hadn't expected the jolt of electricity accompanied with the rougher jab. It was just enough to catch him off guard ever so slightly. Grunting in discomfort, he swiped one of his daggers at the other in rebuke. While it was barely nightfall, he'd slept restlessly. Still Stryke had agreed to the early meeting without considering how he might feel when the time to rise came.
However the jolt was enough to sober up his cheerful demeanor. The yellowblood's daggers gleamed in the early moonlight as he dashed in after the other, not allowing him to loom over him idly.
The time for action was now. Namely before the older troll took to repeatedly zapping him. "indeed, we are just beginning..bessside. i'm wake now." He shook his head dismissively, a stubborn set to his jaw as he moved to back off.

Zeffer snarled as the daggers sliced past the fabric of his shirt, welcoming the fresh sting that shallow wounds always brought. The attack earned Stryke a barked laugh, and the blueblood bared his fangs, pleased at his opponent's resolve.
"Let's see if we can wake you up a bit more! Time's a'waisting."
Zeffer's powers crackled as he laid two more swats in succession, still light taps, laughing at his pun and circling around Stryke quickly, looking to get in another hit.

Stryke startled slightly when he saw the crackle of Zeffer's...powers?! Was that lightning he'd seen just now as he hit him? "wait when did..you--?" He started to say before he groaned loudly at his Time jab.
His joke made the yellowblood scoff. "yesss..very well." Was he really making puns at a time like this? Stryke tried to parry his blows, although the quick swats were more irritating than anything. He looked visibly frustrated, although it only hardened his resolve to keep trying. "don't pull your swings." He stated quietly, eyes narrowed up on the other, a stubborn set to the trolls jaw. He'd taken blows from Byakko's weapon, surely he could handle this?
i'll find out soon enough.
Hissing in rebuke to the others laughter, he tried to aim for his opponent but his reach came up short, the jacket was thicker than he realized as he slashed at him. His pupils had shifted to an hourglass shape, although he did not yet try to force his powers into shape. It wasn't like he wanted to let himself be intimidated by the other. Clicking his teeth together audibly he readied himself after his miss.

"HEH. Surprise." Zeffer cackled as the light flickered around him, dancing ominously. "You aren't the only one who discovered something new." The blueblood teased as he all but bounced around his opponent, growing more excited by the minute. He knew he was close to witnessing Stryke's power, and figured only a bit more push would be needed to make him feel the need to activate it.
"No need to tell me twice!" Zeffer barked another laugh, and darted in, pulling his arm back as he moved to deal a much heftier blow than before.

Stryke cringed slightly at the sheer intimidation behind the others taunting as he not only teased him but bounced around him. For all Stryke thought he was quick, it was very obvious he had a lot to learn. Getting a few couple lucky hits off with his daggers wasn't actually really fighting. He was swinging like a blind idiot at this point practically. Just as Stryke moved as if to try and parry his blow he realized how much harder this next swing would be. Judging from the raise of the others arm..and the motion which he went to drive his weapon into him he just wasn't ready for another staggering blow. Throwing his arms up, hands still gripping his daggers he closed his eyes yelling in frustration. "w-wait! NO, S-SSHIT!" He yelled, his usually soft spoken voice was anything but. Stryke infact hissed at the other in his frustration. It was like a switch had been thrown, he felt the pulse of psionics emanate from him, spreading out like a barrier. His yellow bubble's light flickered to life as if a power surge had gone off. Instead of being driven home, the center point of his timestop was held on Zeffers weapon to keep it in place. Stryke hesitantly opened one eye, his pupil shaped like his symbol as he looked up nervously wondering why he hadn't been hit. Oh. That was why. Stepping back, he looked uncomfortable with what he'd just done but raised his weapons at the ready. The barrier evaporated into thin air, fading after having done it's work. Stryke moved in, his dagger following his quick slash motion to try and at least take advantage of the opening he'd potentially created for himself in buying a few seconds to counterstrike the other.
