Giggling spilled freely from the little freshling as he dashed down the halls, arms outstretched ahead of him. The halls weren't terribly crowded, making him only have to avoid and dodge a few that were passing through them, politely giving a few 'excuse me!'s along the way.
But ahead of him, and the target of his pursuit, was the dark blue little skyfish that was wriggling briskly, swimming through the air like a ribbon on the wind. It was a common game, for the two of them, as the skyfish was quite playful. Ebi thought the game might be more fun in the water, but he didn't always have access to the pool. But tag was always an enjoyable game! Tearing through the hallways, he skidded to a stop when he saw that the skyfish had gotten tangled into a grimm's fluffy tail! Gasping, he stopped and carefully extracted the wriggling familiar, giving multiple apologies to the older Nightmare in question, "I'm so sorry! I hope your tail is alright!" he aided in smoothing down the mussed up fur, but the junior just flicked it away and went on their day.
Peeking down at the skyfish who was blinking up at him innocently, Ebi gave a small smile and light giggle, "Gotta watch where you're going, ok~?" he cooed sweetly.

Eli wandered down the more empty halls quietly, his steps slow and unsure. He was feeling rather down ever since he arrived at the academy - though academy life had its ups, he found his days mostly littered with downs. The only thing that kept him afloat was his newly found fascination with studying and pets.
Pressing him favorite plush tight against his body, he sighed very softly. He was starting to feel very lonely though. He had acquired many pets to try and dissipate the feeling, but found that it only emphasized it. The freshling looked towards the floating wisp orbs that had taken to following him about and smiled weakly, reaching out a hand towards them. They circled towards him, nibbling gently on his energies before resuming their positions around his head. He took a turn into a hall that was more littered with life: instead of being empty, it had students out and about.
He stared down, looking at each occupant. You just need to try and make a friend, he thought to himself bitterly, reminding himself of his promise to his mother. And while he had, in a sense, made a friend - the small flitterat pet he cared for most dearly currently napping on his shoulder reminded him of that - it was probably not the way his mother wanted to. He found the task too difficult. Everyone seemed to already have their own groups of friends. Impatient to handle his slow-to-trust personality and quiet, awkward nature.

With a few more sweet words of affection given to the skyfish, Ebi gently lifted the lanky aquatic creature to rest along his shoulders like a scarf. With it being a being of water like he, there was a natural comfort he found in its presence, along with a kinship that made homesickness stay at bay. Though such feelings didn't creep up on him too often. He could still contact his parents, and there were so many things keeping him occupied at the academy.
Game concluded, he decided to continuing his exploring onward, humming a little joyful tune in the process. But his attention was almost instantly taken by the sight of another his own age in a sea of juniors and seniors, making him perk up with interest. Not only that, but as he observed the other youngster, he noted the familiars they too toted along with them. Gasping with excitement, his tail raised in alert fashion, before he trotted ahead faster to meet up with them.
"Hey there~!" he called out to the demon merrily, stopping right in front of them to fawn over the little creatures they had in their party, "Wow your familiars are so cute!" gold eyes flickered from one to the next, glistening and shimmering in awe over how adorable they were!

As if someone was reading his thoughts, he heard the sound of someone trying to talk to him. A chance to make a friend? The thought made him stiffen up. He wasn't ready for this! He wanted to panic immediately, but instead he took a deep breath and reminded himself to play it cool - this freshling clearly had no idea who he was.
Slowly turning around so he was facing the freshling, he noted it was a nixie. He had yet to see one of those. He had yet to really come across many of the daydreams. "Ermm... hey," he stammered, clenching his plushie tighter than normal. Way to sound cool. He probably thinks you're a dweeb now, he thought. Taking a deep breath once more, he tried to calm his nerves. Social situations made him so anxious; he wasn't sure how others were able to do it so fluidly.
Hearing the compliment towards his wisps, he wanted to beam a little. His eyes flicked towards the skyfish and watched it with awe. "Your skyfish is really neat, too... But, erm, t-thanks," he replied. "Wanna see one of them up close...? They're kinda cool." Glancing towards his wisps, which seemed to be content with orbiting his head, he couldn't help but smile a little. He reached a hand out, cupping one in his hands and holding it out to Ebi. The wisp seemed to do the equivalence to squirming and shined brighter, as if to express it was irritated with being held captive.

DeeJaye Look how late I am, whoooops! + + +a;;;; ps. we need to do a farid+eli rp. ;;;} He was so taken by the floating balls, even leaning in a bit closer than he meant to. Catching himself in time, he righted and turned his gaze back to the other kid. Smile brightening, he proudly stroked the smooth scales of his aquatic companion, who in turn squinted its eyes as if to smile at the little demon before them.
"Thank you! He's really nice too, if you wanna hold him, and pet him! Just careful, he's kinda slippery!" maybe that wasn't the right word, as the thing wasn't wet just... very sleek, and hard to hold onto! Gasping lightly with delight with the offer given in turn, his fins raised up, and expanded a little with excitement, "Oh yes please, I would love to!" both of his hands instantly jutted forward, and kept pressed together to form a cup of their own, so as to give as much surface for the little ball of light to rest on. He stood stock still as he accepted the mysterious familiar, staring intently at it.
"wowwww... It hardly feels like I'm holding anything~" he murmured in shock. A few older kids were passing them by... annoyed at the two little kids just standing in the middle of the hallway. But Ebi was way too engrossed in the coolness that was the wisp in his hands!
"Oh! And you hold him too, if you'd like." his head tilted to lightly nudge at the skyfish, who gracefully unfurled from around the freshling to glide effortlessly over to Eli, in turn draping itself like a necklace along the other boy.
