After training with Merlinite for the last few nights, with helpful tips from Camelot and whoever else decided to join them when they worked together, Sinistra was feeling rather confident in her abilities.
Okay. Maybe. Not confident. And they couldn't really be called... abilities.
But she was not feeling so completely inept that she wanted to panic anymore, and that was a really big step for her. The more she learned, the better she felt, which was usually the case. She was such a good bookworm, always loving the process of absorbing information. It was just a little harder for her to put it into practice, especially when it came to things on the more 'physical' side of the spectrum.
She had never really been sporty in school, after all.
When she powered up, though, she was given more strength and speed than she was used to, and it allowed her to actual... almost succeed at things when she tried them. So she had been play fighting and running through defense maneuvers with some very good teachers.
Hopefully now she would be able to hold her own in a fight, and not need them to come to her rescue like last time...

Cavansite was looking for a new play thing. Of course her little cookie was fun and all…but she could only eat that food every so often…and she wouldn’t want him to get used to her or anything…what if she lost her frightening edge? What if he grew complacent with her visits? No, some distance was always good to keep that dash of fear going.
But distance also meant she had to find something else to do on her nightly outings…and when she felt the other aura nearby, the goody aura of someone from order’s side of things, a grin passed over the lieutenant’s face. Oh, oh now she would be able to have some fun. And this one was her level too, no strange things would happen…or at least she hoped.
Cavansite summoned her fairy wand into her hand, still so pleased that it was no longer broken in two pieces…that had nearly given her a heart attack when it had happened…and that whole altercation had just been an absolute nightmare…one that she didn’t want to repeat. She finally found the source of the order aura and blinked, giving a laugh that rang through the silent January evening. “It’s a little late for Halloween, don’t you think, pumpkin?”
Sure the girl was dressed as a witch…not a pumpkin…but it worked.

Sinistra winced when she felt the chaos aura so close by, looking at her and frowning unhappily. it was not because she wanted to fight, or hated the negaverse, or anything like that. The complete opposite, in fact: she would rather go through her patrols without trouble.
Fights were so... unbecoming. And she knew she would get dirty, if not hurt, because of it. Uncivilized, the whole war thing.
She took a breath, offering the Negaverse soldier a smile. Maybe this one would be pleasant like some of the other chaos soldiers she had met so far. They tended to like to talk, and though she would not join their side, she did not mind listening rather than punching.
"Well, I unfortunately can't help but always look ready for halloween," she said, sheepishly. "But uhm. H-hello there. It's... it's a nice night, isn't it?"

“And why is that? I’m sure you could help yourself and not look ready for Halloween.” The lieutenant laughed, gently letting the fairy wand rise and fall back against her hand with a soft thump. “What are you doing out here, little one? And so very…alone? You know, it’s a dangerous place, this city. Are you sure you want to be out here? Are you sure you want to risk your pretty little witchy face? I mean, someone could come and attack you, and yank the starseed that you have in your chest, and you never know…they could use that starseed to put on necklaces that they took from other people and it could just be a big mess!”
Cavansite gave a grin, much like the one she had given the sunset senshi. She was out for blood, but then again…when was she not? It was just so fun…
Though, it would have been more fun with Painite by her side, but…beggars couldn’t be choosers. Fun was fun. Power was fun. This was power. Fear was power.

Sinistra was definitely getting a bad vibe here. Not that it was particularly subtle: this Lieutenant was clearly looking for trouble and, unfortunately, had found a good outlet in Sinistra. She was an easy target, and she knew it.
Her positive, hopeful attitude was not exactly winning fights for her.
"I... get the feeling you mean... you want to do that. With my starseed. And... oh. Dear. That sounds atrocious. I really would just... prefer to keep things... quite where they are..."
She was backing away with each word, holding up her hands in a show of peace. She really just wanted to get the hell out of there, though she knew she would need a big stroke of luck to do so without being ripped apart.
"O-oh, heavens. Look... at the time... I... I should be going," she had no watch, but she looked at her wrist anyway, making a face when she realized how stupid that was. Still, she tried. "It was... it was very lovely meeting you. I just... I must go. I'm sorry!"
She turned and she ran. Running was good. Sticking around was bad. She was not exactly an athlete, but she ran as fast as her little senshi skirt could let her.

Cavansite’s laughter rang through the night and she tore off after the senshi, her wand clutched in her hand. “You can run little hallowitch, but you can’t run fast enough. I’ll get that pretty starseed of yours. And your little hat too.” She liked the hat. She could rock that hat.
It seemed like she was going nowhere on the ground, so she decided to try a different tactic, jumping up onto a rooftop and running another direction, a way that would intersect again with the little witch senshi, and a minute or so later, she jumped down, landing a few yards in front of the green haired girl, grinning dangerously.
“Now really, sweetie. Where is it that you think you’re going?” The lieutenant lunged, raising the wand up to give Sinistra a good thwack upside the head.

Hallo-what?
"You are VERY RUDE!"
Sinistra yelled it while running, as she was not brave enough to stop, turn around, and stand her ground while defending her own honor. Instead, she just needed to inform the Lieutenant that she was, in fact, very rude. In case she did not know that.
Which she probably did...
"Yipes!"
Sinistra skidded to a stop, crying out when she was struck on the head and falling sideways with a surprisingly graceful, dainty little fall. That hurt, a lot. She put her hand on her head, feeling blood and panicking when she pulled her hand back and saw the red on her palm. Oh god, this was it. This was where she was doing to die.
And then she felt it, in a flash. A powerful, twisted aura that came charging out of the distance, leaping from a rooftop down onto the negaverse soldier that had just hit her. The Half-Youma General would not let anyone hurt his little senshi friend, even if it did mean fighting someone that used to be on his own team. He tackled the Lieutenant to the ground, leaping away from her and moving to stand over Sinistra protectively once he had knocked her attacker away.
"Stay away from her, b***h," he snarled, his fangs bared and claws raised.

Cavansite thought that the fall that the girl made was both quite adorable, and terribly funny. She was so busy laughing and raising her foot to kick the girl, that she didn’t realize anyone else was there until well…
Until there was a dragon man on top of her. A dragon man with claws and fangs and…it was some sort of youma…person. She didn’t know what to think. Why was he attacking her? Why not the senshi? With those claws he could rip the little witch b***h to shreds and it would be pitifully simple…but he seemed to be defending the senshi.
What the hell. Traitors. Traitors everywhere.
The very thought made Cavansite’s blood run cold for a moment.
“What the hell are you, you freak? Get off of me. You’re protecting the wrong person, dragon breath!” There was nothing else she could think of saying. Nothing she could think of at all. “Get off of me and help me. You’re on my side, are you not? What is this?”

"I'm not on your side," Merlinite snarled, stepping back and keeping himself poised to protect Sinistra, who was huddling down by his legs. He curled his tail around her, just to comfort her and make sure he could get her out of danger if he needed to.
"Merlinite... be careful," she said, though she knew he could handle himself. He was a lot stronger than the Negaverse Lieutenant, even if she was meaner and ruder than he was. "She's very unpleasant..."
Merlinite ignored Sinistra for now, keeping his eyes glued on Cavansite.
"I'm Dennis," he corrected, not going by his mineral name any more. It didn't matter. His civilian form was gone forever, so he could use the name for himself as he was now. Almost a knight, but just slightly impeded. "And I'm with the White Moon. I won't let you hurt her, or anyone else! I'm so tired of you little brats, people like you who think you're so much stronger than you are! Picking on people and scaring them, bullying them like you own them! You're a coward, and I'm not going to let anyone else get hurt because of people like you."

Merlinite…Dennis. What was this thing…this Traitor. For a moment, Cavansite couldn’t even think of a single thing to say other than insults and words filled with venom, but even those words wouldn’t come.
She felt a fear prickling in her, and she hated it. It made her feel sick. A fear that maybe she was doing the wrong thing. A fear that maybe these traitors were right. Maybe she was doing the wrong thing and maybe she needed help. For a moment she was sure that her fear and doubt leaked into her expression, as the color drained from her face, but she struggled for a moment, and finally regained her composure.
“You traitorous a*****e! Merlinite or Dennis whatever filthy name you want to call yourself. I’ll make sure that you are brought to where you deserve, I know, I just know that my Painite will love to help me bring you back where you belong. You are a being of chaos, you can’t be with the white moon, you disgusting, filthy…animal!” Her voice had only trembled for a moment, and she was proud of that, but by the time she had finished her proclamation to him, she was breathing heavily with her struggle with right and wrong.
The dumb little senshi was all but forgotten.

"Your Painite? Ha! You think she cares about you at all? She probably just wants to own you, the same way she wanted to own me! I thought she was my leader, my friend! I cared about her and look what happened to me! You're all the same, you know! We are all the same! We're so willing to believe there's good in us, that we can be normal and have relationships and somehow make this awful stuff we do seem like it's right. But in the end, it's not. It's CHAOS. It's CORRUPT. Painite made me into this animal. This... monster. But you know what? She also made me realize just how terrible Negaverse really is."
He growled protectively, though Sinistra had managed to get to her feet and was standing behind him now, her hand on his shoulders. She had never really heard his story before, as he was not much for talking about it all in great detail. She knew the gist of it, but not just how bad it had been for him.
And even now, she didn't know the half of it. She had so many questions all of a sudden, but it was really a bad time to try and ask any of them. So she just took some mental notes, for later.
"Painite's just going to do the same thing to you, and you're going to deserve it. That's not really my problem. Get out of here before I rip your arms off of your stupid little shoulders," Merlinite growled, though Sinistra gripped his shoulder to remind him not to get too into the youma side of himself.

It felt like her head was spinning. Cavansite stared up at Merlinite, mouth slightly open, a look of confused horror on her face. What? What lies was he spewing from his fanged…traitorous mouth? Did he think she was so simple minded? Did he think she would just…believe something like that? Did he…
Was she believing something like that?
The lieutenant shimmied out from under the half youma and stood up, brushing herself off before shooting a half frightened look at him, and half glaring at Sinistra. “Fine. Fine!”
She took off, running like a demon was on her heels, not stopping until she was nearly clear across the city, where she rested her head on a window, panting slightly and curling her hand into a fist.
Something had to be done. She couldn’t afford to keep being so weak. She had to be stronger. Be more set in her ideals.
…Because she was set in her ideals. Her loyalty was with chaos and with Painite.
She would not waiver.

Merlinite saw how confused the nega was, and was not surprised by it. She was one of Painite's new toys, it seemed, and had not been aware of all the things 'her' Painite was capable of. Even to people she claimed to care about. People who had saved her life, kept her alive for weeks, kept her hidden and safe while she healed. People who had feelings for her, and wanted to help her get out of the nightmare Chaos had become.
But now, she would not be saved. No one near her would be. Merlinite knew that from personal experience now. But that didn't mean he had any pity for this new replacement.
Once the Lieutenant took off, though, Merlinite relaxed and Sinistra leaped on him for a tight hug.
"Thank you for your help, Merlinite! She would have killed me!"
"Probably."
Sinistra looked at him blankly, then offered him a warm, understanding smile. None of that could have been easy for him. She took his clawed hand and guided him with her, wanting to at least walk him back to the library, where he lived, to make sure nothing else went wrong that evening. After that, she was going to go home and hide in her room with nothing more dangerous than a book.
