Okay, well, um -- maybe she was out a little late, and it was nice Amphitrite didn't enforce a curfew (honestly, with the times she was pretty sure Amphitrite came home some nights it wasn't like the older Senshi could enforce a curfew; Chrysocolla - slash - Poppy was home by half-past-eleven at the very latest and sometimes her sister wouldn't be home yet?), but it wasn't like she went looking for auras anymore: anything Order stronger than first-level she avoided like the plague, and if they went after her, she'd just power down. Who suspected a schoolgirl? Only the sort of people who'd like to creep on schoolgirls, anyways, and those types she grabbed starseeds from.

She'd yet to bite down on a starseed. That didn't sound right. Didn't feel right.

That was someone's soul, after all, and that was a pretty indisputably evil act -- eating souls, y'know? Kind of gross. Kind of really, really evil. She had standards! ...terrible standards, yes, but still standards, and that was the important part -
well, before Chrysocolla could get so lost in her internal monologue she tripped over her own feet and fell off the roof, the lifesaving calming aura of another Corrupt entered her senses and it had to make her smile. Someone new, maybe? If it was someone who'd been at the meeting that was nice, but if it was someone ELSE, that meant even more friends and contacts! Chryso liked those. So she gathered herself up, she took a deep breath, and hurried along the streets to where the aura had flickered into appearance.

"Um. Hi! What's your name?" She was ruddy-cheeked from exertion and breathing a little heavy, but Chrysocolla extended a gloved hand anyways, smiling meekly up at the taller boy. "I-I'm Chrysocolla of Moods...! Sorry to bother you, but I felt you power up..."

Honestly, the only reason Matthew tended to power up these days was because the Negaverse demanded their pound of flesh on a regular basis. He had no choice about meeting quota, particularly when refusing to do so early on had earned him punishment from the captain he'd been assigned to answer to. His general, Benitoite, might be more easy going, but his captain cared more about how Fulgurite's lack of performance reflected on him. Getting the tar beat out of him and a doubled quota had begrudgingly convinced him there were just some times when it was better to pick your battles.

Thus why Matthew was Fulgurite tonight, rising from the slumped form of a bum he'd found sleeping on a park bench to tuck a glowing energy orb into the pocket of his glorified swim trunks as another chaos signature came barreling down on him. It felt like his level, and his type, so at the very least, it wasn't his a*****e captain coming to make sure he was doing his job.

The teen turned as he heard the running steps behind him and his green eyes narrowed on the girl that appeared, sweeping from teal hair to dark skin to thigh-high boots as his eyebrows lifted.

"Ah..." She seemed... enthusiastic, rushing right up to him to shove a hand at him. Fulgurite blinked at her for a long moment, processing, before he finally shifted and relaxed a little. "Yo. I'm Fulgurite. Chrysocolla, huh? Nice to meet you, I guess."

It took a moment, but he finally took the hand she offered, feeling awkward shaking hands with someone who looked his age (who even did that?).

"Did you need something or....? I was kinda in the middle of filling quota. Not that I mind that distraction, I guess." Finally finding his mental feet again, Fulgurite broke out a crooked smile for the shorter girl, tilting his head a little as he braced his free hand on his hip.

Chrysocolla powered up...less frequently than she would have liked, but she needed a lot of energy for school, and her grades took personal precedence. It wasn't like she didn't meet quota, after all; she just...didn't exceed it too often. People got suspicious, sometimes; but if she put on an oversized hoodie and bundled up her hair, put a bandaid on her forehead...she could touch hands for too long in a coffee shop, she could drop her bag, she could lure people in with (what she liked to think was) genuine innocence.

"I-it's nice to meet you too," she smiled nervously, realizing posthumously how incredibly awkward it had all seemed. "I'm sorry to bother you, just...I never really see any of us out and about, and I already filled quota this week, so I figured I'd say hi -- if -- if I'm interrupting or bothering you or anything, I'll go...!" Honestly, Chrysocolla didn't seem too entirely sincere with that, given how she tripped over her words for moments longer before continuing to speak. "...What's your sphere and how long have you been part of the Negaverse? I'm, um, Moods...since summer, personally."

When he was finally able to reclaim his hand, Fulgurite did so gratefully, sweeping both up and back through his colorful streaked hair. It fluffed the dark strands up, but they still fell into his eyes when he dropped his hands again.

"Must be nice, being done already." He commented dryly, then felt bad for the tug of jealousy he felt. He covered it up with his best charming smile. "I don't see a whole lot of us either, but I guess I don't go out of my way to find us either. You're not really interrupting anything, I guess. I took what I could from this bum and if I want more I have to go find someone else. Kind of a pain.."

One booted foot nudged the leg of the downed man, but he only groaned softly in response, too tired to fight back. In hindsight, maybe he shouldn't have taken so much, but it was a bum. Who cared, right? They shouldn't be sleeping on the street, they accepted the risk when they did it.

Maybe he'd just give the local shelter a call though, on his way home... leave a tip there was an unresponsive man in this alley. They'd send someone to check it out and that would be that.

The girl didn't seem inclined to go now that she was here so he shrugged lightly as he turned to head down the alley, fully expecting her to follow.

"One of the cats told me it was Springs. Not like the season, but like..." The teen motioned with his hands, miming something coming up and spreading out. "Water, from under ground. My magic makes a water bubble. I've been at this for a while now... A bit over a year I guess? I dunno... It doesn't feel like that long, but also like... forever at the same time."

His long hair brushed his ankles as he walked, pausing at the opposite end of the alley to scan the area. Opening his senses caught a couple of pings, but they were just on the edge of his internal radar. If they headed away, hopefully they wouldn't give chaise.

"How did you get corrupted?" He said after a moment. "I'm just curious, since we're doing a little Q and A, I guess. Who's your general?"

"I mean -" her voice caught in her throat for a second, words unpracticed. "It's. It's not so much I already finished, but...I usually go a little above quota, so it's okay if I don't feel well one week...I usually go to coffee shops and stuff, actually...if I'm wearing a hoodie, nobody can really tell I'm - well, you know." Chrysocolla gestured to her hair, fingers jittering ever-so-slightly. "There's a lot of people in public areas...if you're subtle about it, nobody notices the energy drain. It makes things a lot safer than running around looking for bums!" She smiled nervously (did he even want the advice? oh god, was she just being totally rude? she couldn't say SORRY, this was the sort of thing Cinnabar'd warned her about!!)

"Um - can I see your magic?" Her eyes sparkled a little bit. "If you want to, I mean -- I don't really like using mine on people I'm not fighting, it usually makes them say things they regret, and...it's not great."

But at the mention of 'corruption', Chrysocolla laughed nervously, shoulders tensing. The joy that had been in her face flickered out temporarily. "It was - uh - I don't actually really remember, I was kind of in a bad place at the time -" and then she took a deep breath, because maybe he'd get the hint and she wouldn't have to talk about it - "but Cinnabar's my general...! Have you met her? She's really great."

Fulgurite shrugged off her explanation, but paused there at the mouth of the alley, turning back to study his companion, hands on his hips. He was really not the kinda guy, and this was not the sort of job, where he was going to go out of his way for it. Going above and beyond was just not appealing. Its not like he got anything for it... so why bother?

"I'm not really a subtle kinda guy." He said with a shrug. "The bums are easier for me, personally. I can usually sneak up on them, no problem, and its less important to try and hide. But you know... you gotta do what works for you in your own way. I could maybe do it at a concert or something... that would be more my speed."

Fulgurite eyed the girl when she asked about his magic, scrunching his face.

"I can, if you want? But its not really pleasant, just to warn you. Like being dumped into a lake in the middle of winter." He shrugged it off and a smirk came onto his face, though it had a bit of an edge to it. "You're probably better off not remembering it. Mine sucked. a*****e Bischofite shoved his hand in my chest and when it didn't work, he called Laurelite and she shoved her hand in there too. Not even so much as a 'hey, you wanna join us?', and then he dumped me on Benitoite. So yeah. Lucky, I'd say."

A glance at the street confirmed there was no one to see them and he turned back, spreading his hands.

"So, you want me to demonstrate my magic?"
