Keilana was on the outskirts of her home town, she had been hunting though she found it tiring to sneak around and try to catch prey unaware of her presence. Her hammer as much as she loved it was big and awkward, already she was thinking of ways she could make it more easily weild-able. Perhaps with a longer shaft so she could have a better reach. At this point she was mostly bashing the creature into submission before death finally got a hold.

Sighing she wiped the sweat from her brows before she went to put the carcass on her shoulders. It was heavy..though not heavier than her hammer so it was manageable. She began her trek back home, with a slower pace than she had trying to get out here to hunt. At least they would eat well tonight, she could see about selling the hide for some extra money...

Keilana had found herself lately trying to keep busy, with her boys now grown up she had no one who really needed her. She felt lonely and angry about it. Staying home meant seeing her brother and his mate being all lovey dovey and only reminding herself that she didn't have anyone. Sighing she continued down the trail back to the village. It was going to be a long day..

It wasn't that Keilana had heightened awareness but she noticed she was being 'followed' for some time now. Even if it was only a traveler she didn't like having someone behind her, perhaps it was the horrors of past wars that made her paranoid. She deliberately slowed down so that the traveler could catch up with her it made her feel better to have someone walk beside her than behind her for sure.

She cast a look in the direction of the woman to notice her bright red hair, the way it was shaved and the amount of creatures following in her wake. Ug...it was like her son Aysun. How people managed to have so many creatures was beyond her. Shifting the weight of the creature on her shoulders she wondered if she should say something.

"You can walk ahead if you wish. I don't want to impede your travels." She stated gruffly, being reminded of one of her twin sons made her feel wistful inside and annoyed. "Or are you lost?" She continued, as Keilana was..perhaps a bit prickly but she wasn't rude.

Rolling her neck the woman eye'd the young woman a moment before noting her staff which marked her as a magic user. Her gaze went to graze over the assortment of creatures before she sighed and nodded her head.

"You have been traveling long? Perhaps you are tired? Its still a ways to the closest village. If you wished we could stop and prepare a meal." She stated giving a shrug to indicate the creature she had on shoulders. "Sorry I don't mean to come off as growly...just my nature I suppose." Keilana managed with a small smile. It was a thin one, that seemed to set into a naturally growly frown.

Looking around she noted a spot a bit ahead that look as if it was used as a pit stop for many a traveler. A old fire pit was there full of ash and charcoal but it wouldn't take long to gather enough materials to make a fire as well a small meal. Besides she probably should get to butchering the creature sooner rather than later.

"Come. I am Keilana of the Leaf tribe. You are?"

Small talk was never Keilana's strong point, she was a strong woman with a temper after all. Thus she never ended up being chatty else something would spark her anger. Though she had instigated the conversation she didn't really know what else to say. Moving over to where the pit stop was she glanced behind herself when the young woman seemed to have heard of her before.

Raising an eyebrow she didn't think that many people would know whom she was, it wasn't exactly like she pulled off some magical feat during the wars. But when her sons name was mentioned she perked up slightly. Chandra being one of her twin boys, a grumpy young man taking after his mother. She now gave Syq a different sort of look. Why did she know her son?

"Ah...yes, Chandra is one of my sons. Do..you know him?" Though she was trying not to sound stnadoffish as she slung the carcass onto the ground she tried to focus on the task at hand rather than let her mind wander in too many directions.

How did she know Chandra? Why didn't Chandra ever mention such a pretty young woman to her? How long have they known each other?

A whirlwind of questions sprung to her mind.

Trying to focus on the carcuss she slipped a small knife out of her bag and began to cut off strips of flesh and fat. Normally she would do this at home, but now having discovered a young woman that her son was associated with...it made her pause and want to dig a little more for information.

"His...books?" She inquired trying to sound interested, after all she didn't understand her sons obsession with reading. Then again he was a magic user...so perhaps she just didn't understand the point. "are you interested in dabbling in magic as well? I mean I understand its use for healing...but I'd rather have an extension of my arm,something heavy to wield." Keilana indicated by shrugging her shoulders, the hammer strapped to her back looked quite heavy.

"Sit. Tell me more about yourself."

It was more of a command..than a request.

There was a pause of the knife as Keilana worked and then she resumed her cutting. She gestured for the girl towards the fire pit.

"Show me your skills then, start a fire so we can get some of this meat cooked." Keilana ordered, unsure if she was pleased with the fact the girl hadn't run away yet. It wasn't exactly like Keilana was being the most friendly of women. Cutting some long strips she stopped and then stood up, stretching from the uncomfortable position before she walked over to where she spotted some long narrow shafts of stiff fiborous plants. Cutting them into manageable pieces she returned to the meat before she skewered the meat.

"Your critters look hungry...do they all eat meat?" She inquired unsure of the diet requirements of some of the creatures that were gathered around the girl.

There was another pause and a withheld sigh from the older woman. Alright she was a magic user...but didn't wield fire. She never really understood the point to magic after all unless it was useful. Rolling her shoulders she could see that the girl was scared stiff, withdrawing a cloth from her bag she cleaned her hands and the knife before slipping it back into her bag.

"Drent huh..." Looking to the kifna Keilana looked like she was glaring at it even if she wasn't doing it on purpose. "there is more than enough for my family and I, I can afford to share during these peaceful times." came her declaration as she then went to kneal at the fire pit.

"you do know..how to start a fire...right? Even without magic..its a pretty mundane skill.." Kei asked starting to worry for the girls health. if she didn't even know how to start a fire....how would did she survive on her own?

Well that shouldn't of surprised her, somehow if the girl had told her she was afraid of the darkness it wouldn't of been much of a surprise either. Trying to hold her tongue she knew that lecturing the girl wasn't exactly going to earn her brownie points if her son was interested in the girl. But one could tell she was wrestling with the fact she very much wanted to lecture her.

"Afraid? You have every right to be afraid I suppose. Fire can burn and kill...but it takes a of courage and skill to use it properly. Even you can overcome that fear if it means your survival right?" She tried to be encouraging..she wasn't entirely sure if she was successful. "Do you wish to learn?"
