Patrolling had been going rather well this evening, maybe almost too well. While Sedna was not prone to think of negative catches like that, there was a little nagging feeling that helpfully threw that up there. She had dusted some low level youma thus far, feeling better that maybe the streets were a tiny bit safer tonight. She was moving from roof top to roof top when she felt it---the unmistakable pull of a chaos signature. Cool and dark, and not a higher level, either---
Well then!
What could that person be up to? She knew she needed to act fact---if she had felt that person, then that person had felt her, too. Sedna dropped from the roof, grabbing onto the edge, and continued to drop, slowing her descent where various edges of the building until she reached the ground. Nearly coming out of an alleyway, into a semi-deserted street, that's where she found the lieutenant, energy draining someone.
Sedna's hands balled into fists.
"Hey, you!" She shouted. "Stop right there!"

While still unsteady and inexperienced in dealing with energy draining, Cerussite at least felt as though he was getting better at it. The first few times had been disastrous at best, awkward and clumsy and hardly any energy had been collected at all. But Cinnabar's guidance was at least working slowly, and he was doing what he could, at least.
Like now, when he was standing off to the side of a quiet street. The man was a homeless one; a drunken vagrant, clearly not even coherent enough to realize what was happening when Cerussite knelt in front of him. He'd kept a gentle hand on a shoulder, wincing slightly, but the flow had started, and he felt the energy pooling through him.
Except he had not even spent five minutes with draining when he felt the signature waft towards him, a voice shouting at him. Startled, Cerussite let go, clutching the tiny ball of light in his free hand and stumbling to his feet, his (useless) wand held in his other hand.
"Stop," he said, and took a step back, his heart in his throat. "I haven't - I haven't done anything wrong."

Sedna, luckily, had learned a lesson after that encounter with the corrupt senshi. She scanned the lieutenant's hand, and saw that it wasn't a starseed he had---which meant he was energy draining? Sedna's eyes darted to the nearby man, who, um, well, didn't appear to be in the best shape to begin with, but at least he seemed---alive.
That was the most important thing, though.
Also, admittedly, she was a bit taken aback by the agent's reaction to her appearance, so much so, her eyes widened and she frowned in surprise. Granted, it wasn't like he had yanked a starseed, but who was to say how much energy he would have taken? That one agent had left her unconscious in a street...that feeling had been pretty rattling.
"Taking energy that doesn't belong to you is wrong!" Oops, that sounded kind of lame? At his step back, Sedna took a step forward, hesitated, and then charged him, just to make sure he'd get away from the man.

She looked a great deal more capable than him, at any rate - though Cerussite was trying to remember what Cinnabar had taught him about keeping his chin up. It was difficult, especially since he kept fumbling, but at least he was putting one foot in front of the other.
All he had to do was keep reminding himself that this was for Hitch and Fritz's sake. That was what kept him going, kept his mind level. This was for Hitch, and by extension, for Fritz as well, because if he couldn't be strong for either of them, how could he be strong at all?
"It's not wrong," Cerussite insisted, his heart hammering. "This is - we're helping people, and the world. You lot are the one that are wrong."
But he didn't get a chance to expound on that, because the senshi had rushed forward suddenly. Cerussite gave a startled gasp of surprise, eyes wide, and instinctively staggered back, thrusting his free hand out in an attempt at blocking her.

"How are you helping people by taking from them!? Senshi aren't running around sapping innocent people's energy and yanking their souls!" Fueled by the rush of adrenaline, and misinterpreting the agent's actions as hostile, especially since he hadn't back off yet, Sedna launched into attack mode. She clapped her hands together and called out, "Sedna's sinking!"
A small fleet of ships launched towards the agent, and she figured this would be a good way to get a battle going. Hopefully causing the agent to be hindered for a few crucial seconds.

Sailor Scout Attack: Sedna’s Sinking Sedna claps her hands together and then holds them out, releasing an aura, that takes the form a small feet of ships half her height, around herself that spans 7 feet. An ominous feeling of sinking envelopes those in range and lasts for 30 seconds. Can be used three times.

"Yes you are!" Cerussite said instinctively, his heart hammering in his chest. He tried to push her back, but then she'd shouted an attack, and suddenly he found himself surrounded on all sides by - by little boats?
He stared at them, but the sensation around him felt terribly off kilter. Cerussite staggered, eyes wide, and almost fell over, staring at the senshi.
"What - what is this - stop that - "

"No, I don't! I don't steal from others to make myself stronger!" Sedna cried back, because that was all she could really say in this situation. Um. Yeah.
She was glad to see her magic had the intended effect, but he still hadn't backed off yet! "Get out of here, guy!" She charged him, and then leapt to tackle and sack him like he was a quarterback holding onto a ball.

"I don't - do that - " Cerussite yelled, still trying just to move; and although he hadn't gone anywhere, it felt like he had. Like his feet were sinking into the ground, like his entire body was being suppressed deeper and deeper into something, and it was the most bizarre, unpleasant sensation he'd ever experienced outside of outright pain.
He let out a sound of surprise as he was tackled, Cerussite yelping. His back hit the wall behind him painfully hard, and he gasped, automatically lifting a hand to smack at her, legs kicking out.
"Get - off - I haven't done anything wrong - "

"You just did!" She cried back, and let out an 'oof' of her own as they landed solidly against the wall. Though she had Cerussite cushioning her impact, it still caused something of a jolt. She clenched an eye shut, turning her face away as he smacked at her and let out another 'oof' as he kicked out. Somewhere, in the back of her mind, she couldn't help but note that he really wasn't...like...yeah, he was fighting back, but he really wasn't...fighting back.
It was jarring.
Sedna pulled away, to at least get away from the smacking and kicking, and kept her fists raised. "Get out of here!" She bellowed. She still, honestly, wasn't sure what the proper way of handling Negaverse agents was, honestly. Maybe she'd stop this guy tonight---but he'd just be back out again tomorrow, right? She tried not to think about it too hard, and tried to take solace in the fact that if she could get him to run away right now, that was victory enough.

Cerussite kicked out with his good leg and staggered as she moved away, catching him off balance. He almost stumbled right back into her, and dragged himself up again, his eyes wide, his hands outstretched in front of him, fingers curled into fists.
She was giving him a chance. She was telling him to run, and - and he should -
Would Cinnabar be disappointed in him?
Slowly, slowly, Cerussite eased around the senshi, biting his lip. He stood there awkwardly for a moment, but his leg was throbbing, his body trembling, and then, without a backwards glance, he turned and darted away.
Maybe, just maybe, if he didn't say anything, he wouldn't have to remember this feeling of shame deep in his stomach.

Sedna, for her part, didn't intimidate the agent any further, and stood waiting as patiently as she could. Her fists will still raised, indicating she was still ready to attack if he tried anything, but she made no motions to scare him. She turned, keeping a hawk eye on him as he slowly eased around her, and let out sigh of relief as he turned and fled. Her posture relaxed as his energy signature started to fade, and she then went to go check in the civilian he had been energy draining...
Still. Something about that entire encounter was...weird. Off. Like he wasn't...er...entirely committed to what he was doing. It was weird.
