Adrian: Ah, okay. I'm Adrian. -flicks his tail- So... Why were you sleeping in the middle of the day? I mean, my Papa and some of my siblings do it but that's because they prefer to stay up at night. -causally attempts not to mention that they're also vampires in case Sen'nyo would have an issue with that- >w>;;

Sen'nyo: It's because I like being up a night too. I'm half-Baku, so I have to be awake at night to eat dreams. -sleepy smile- But I only eat bad dreams, but sometimes nice dreams are really sweet and I can't help myself... -gently bats at Adrian's tail- What about you..?

Adrian: -eyebrows rise a little at her explanation- I... see? -shifts a little at her question- I'm, uh, well... I'm the youngest in my family of 6 siblings and, uh, I'm sort of a shape-shifting alien? A half-breed, at least. My father, eldest brother, and eldest sister are all one, too.

Sen'nyo: Oooh, an alien? That's really cool! My mama's a dragon and my papa's a Youkai. I take after him a little more that I do my mama. -wiggles her tail and giggles- Our tails kinda look alike...

Adrian: -relaxes a little since she seems so blasé about supernatural heritage- Oh? The sounds really cool! My dad's an alien called a Choveckite and my Papa's a vampire. I take after my Dad, but I think I'm a little more like my Papa overall... -smiles and flicks his tail against hers a little playfully- So they are! All of us Choveckites look for people with them, I think - maybe because we feel a bit of instinctual camaraderie? -pauses- Wait, didn't you say you eat dreams earlier??

Sen'nyo: -giggles, wrapping her tail around his before pulling it back around herself- A vampire and an alien? You must have a really fun family! -giggles again at his question- Yes. I eat dreams like my papa. I can eat normal food but I need to eat dreams too... Does it bother you??

Adrian: -blushes a little at the tail-hug before also curling his tail around him- Oh, yeah. Oodles of fun to be had when all of your siblings are more unique and talented and in general better people than you. -huffs, shrugging- Just wondering how nutritious a dream could be.... and a bit about what they taste like. >>->>

Sen'nyo: You don't get along with your siblings? I get along with my big brother. And I'm sure you're really unique and talented in your own way. -smile- Nightmares can be bitter sometimes, they kind of taste like... Like tea that's been sitting out too long. But sweet dreams, mmm! They taste just like cake! Hehehe!

Adrian: -shrugs uncomfortably- No, we get along fine. It'd be easier to justify my malcontent if we didn't. -frowns, shaking his head- I don't know what's wrong with me sometimes. -blinks at her explanation, a thoughtful expression on his face- Interesting... Well, I suppose if you ever attempted to eat any of my dreams you'd be sorely disappointed. -laughs humorlessly-

Sen'nyo: At least you get along. -tilts head- Why do say that? I'm sure you have tasty dreams. -smiles-

Adrian: -snorts- Yeah, well. You're not in my head all the time. Trust me, it's filled with nothing that would make a tasty meal.

Sen'nyo: -frowns slightly- Are you unhappy with yourself? Why?

Adrian: An easier question would be what I am happy with. At least it's a shorter list that way. -bites the inside of his cheek- You know what, we should drop this. It's getting into territory where nearly perfect strangers shouldn't go.

Sen'nyo: -just smiles and noses his shoulder- Hey now, you don't have to talk about sad stuff, but I'm happy to take away any bad dreams if you want. Or you can vent, I don't mind.

Adrian: -scoffs, smiling a little- Thanks. I'll have to take you up on that offer some day. The, uh, dream-eating thing. -fidgets- So, uh, you've mentioned you have a brother. Do you have any other siblings? And, uh, are you the oldest or something? Because you feel pretty, I dunno, big sister-y? Beckie feels that way, too. Sometimes. When she feels like it...

Sen'nyo: I have a big brother and two big sisters. I'm actually the youngest of the bunch. -smiles- I just like to be helpful, that's all... But I'd be happy to be your friend and hang out with you so you can feel better?

Adrian: -laugh- Ah, so we're the same! -offers her a fist bump- Littlest siblings unite, huh? -smiles- Thanks, Sen. I'd like that a lot. -a though occurs- Wait, earlier you said your mom's a dragon? Like, a fire-breathing one or something else?? -snickers- Do you have to hoard things?

Sen'nyo: Little sibling party! -snuggles up to him and gives him another tail hug- Nah, I don't hoard things... I don't know if mama can breathe fire. I've never seen her do it.

Adrian: -blushes a little at the snuggling and tail-hugging, but hesitantly puts an arm around her to be reciprocate- Oh? That means either she doesn't at all or you're telling me you were the good child and never got in trouble!

Sen'nyo: Hehe! I like to think I want the good one that didn't get into trouble. I was usually with my papa anyway.

Adrian: Your dad? As in the dream-eater demon guy, right? -pauses for a second- Did he teach you how to eat dreams and the like? Oh, and which ones does he like since you've said you like the happy ones?

Sen'nyo: Yup! Papa likes all kinds of dreams, he's not picky. I eat all kinds too, but I prefer sweet dreams. -giggles- What do you eat? You said you were half vampire?

Adrian: -smiles, tail flicking contentedly- Me? Oh, I can eat normal food. But I and all my siblings - plus my Papa - have to drink blood every so often. However, those of use that are 'more' Choveckite tend to not like the taste of it as much, and also don't need to drink it as much.

Sen'nyo: What's your favorite food? Do you like sweet things like candy? -snuggles closer and gets comfy-

Adrian: -hums- Favorite food? Uhh... anything involving meat, basically. Though I am partial to Papa's sandwiches - they're the best in the whole universe! -motions with both of his hands expressively- As for sweets, I enjoy them a lot actually. I prefer baking because it makes the house smell good, but candy is nice now and again. -blanches- Though don't let Dad catch you not brushing afterwards...

Sen'nyo: Hygiene is important. -nods- What kind of things do you bake? Oh, can you make angel food cake? It's my absolute favorite! It's so yummy and fluffy! Just like a dream~ Hehehehe!

Adrian: -snorts- You sure my Dad and you haven't met? -sighs before perking up- Angel food cake? Oh, you mean like the fluffy, sponge-y kind! Papa made it for the twins' birthday once. -pouts- It was pretty fancy. I'm not sure if I could even make one on my own...

Sen'nyo: Maybe we could make one together? I've always wanted to learn how to bake!

Adrian: Bake together? -ducks his head and tugs on one of his ears- I'd, uh, I'd like that. Might come as a surprise to you, but I don't... have that many friends. -pauses- Just the one, actually.

Sen'nyo: -blinks in surprise- Really? But you're so sweet, I thought for sure you'd have other friends... I actually only have one friend, aside from you. But you're much nicer than she is! -smiles at him-

Adrian: -laughs- Sweet, am I? I'm sure you're the only one that thinks so. To my parents I'm the youngest and therefore naive, to my brothers I am weak and must be protected, and to my sisters I am sensitive must be coddled. If I am 'sweet' it is because you wish me to be. -sighs- Sorry, I don't know where that came from. -smiles- I'm glad you have a dear friend, though. Maybe... with time, we could be friends, too?

Sen'nyo: Hm... I don't think that's true? I mean, Papa coddles me cause I'm the youngest, but I'm not treated that differently than my brother or sisters... You're sweet because you have a lot of heart. That's why all that bothers you so much, it's because you care so much. You may not be able to see that now, but you will one day. -smiles and noses him- What do you mean, 'with time'? I thought we were already friends! -giggles-

Adrian: -smiles bitterly at her words- Sure, okay. Whatever you say, Sen. -sighs, leaning against her- Because we don't much about one another beyond what we've said? I have to trust you're telling the truth because 1.) I wouldn't be able to tell the difference and 2.) why would you lie to complete stranger? Trust beyond this initial suspension of disbelief takes time. And, you know, trust is an important part of friendship - or so I'm told. -chuckles miserably- What sort of person am I to have broken down the very concept of friendship? Makes me seem pretty pathetic and lonely, huh?

Sen'nyo: Maybe you just aren't used to people wanting to be your friend. Seems like you expect the worst of everyone around you because you don't have faith in yourself...

Adrian: -shrugs- Probably. Then again, there isn't much I have to offer as a friend. Or as a family member, actually. -stands and stretches- Having faith in myself, huh? Sounds like a pretty ideal. -frowns slightly- And I'm pretty sure we both know this world isn't fit for ideals.

Sen'nyo: -flicks her tail as he stands and sighs- You're awfully jaded for someone so young. It's like you've given up all hope already and are convinced that nothing will get better... True, this is not a world for ideals. But trying to work towards one is better than nothing. -nods-

Adrian: -laughs- Young? What makes you think I'm young? Sure, I might look it, but- -give her a look- -you and I both know how old I really am. -smiles- Yeah, working towards an ideal is motivating. But what happens when your ideal is standing right in front of you every day and you know you'll never reach it?

Sen'nyo: -sighs softly- Then you work harder to achieve it. You look on the bright side, no matter how pointless it seems. You strive for your goals, you strive to be better and to be a good person. But only you can make the choice to do that, no one can make you. If you want to be pessimistic, that's your choice. I'll be your friend no matter what, even if you can't trust that. Because I believe in my promises and my goals. Maybe one day you can too.

Adrian: -snorts, shaking his head- Man, it's gotta be exhausting being you. -sighs, smiling a little- Still, I think if the world were filled with more people like you - people who really believe in all that stuff and yet still manage to see the bright side of things - then, it might just be worth the day-to-day disappointments.

Sen'nyo: All the more reason to give being that way a try! -smiles-

Adrian: -scoffs- Yeah, okay. Sure. -looks around, head tilting- Huh. -looks down at her- Where... Where are we? -realization- Was... Was none of this real?

Sen'nyo: If I told you it was real or told you it's your own subconscious trying to help you, with how jaded your view of your own life is, would you even believe what I tell you?

Adrian: -chuckles- Well, you've got me there. -sighs- Truthfully, I was almost hoping for a cliche'd speech of 'Of course it is happening inside your head but why on earth should that mean that it is not real?' -grins- Guess I'm a sucker for the classics. -flicks his tail- So, what now?
