All things considering Jade knew that she'd stayed out too late, but the night had gotten the better of her and so had all of the dancing. She liked people and had a hard time leaving them if she was having even the smallest ounce of fun. So, by the time she'd finally left the bar, it was well past midnight and the temperature had dropped bellow 20.
Her breath escaped in a white puff of air and she was forced to pull her jacket tighter against her body while she walked briskly towards home. Her steps were a little uncoordinated and she walked in a zig-zag pattern, a side affect of her lingering tipsiness.
Someone pushed past her and she nearly toppled over, feet sliding against lingering ice. Irritated, she shouted after them, "Watch where you're going a*****e!" They glanced back and kept running without so much as a word in response. Huffing, Jade's pretty features twisted into a scowl as she glared at their retreating figure, tongue clucking against the roof of her mouth before she made attempts to carry on.
Unfortunately, there was suddenly a hand around her throat and she was shoved against a nearby streetlamp. "What the--"
"Found you negascum!" Her attacker growled, as their grip tighten.
Blue eyes widen in panic, squirming against the post while grasping futile at their outstretched arm.
Her attacker was wearing the most ridiculous outfit she'd ever seen on a man and if he hadn't been choking her, she might have made fun of it. There were puffy brightly colored shorts, high socks and a shirt worthy of a sailor boy. "Thought you could get away by powering down," the man sneered and all Jade could gasp out was.
"They hell are you talking about?

The original plan had been to take n evening to herself. Meet up with Dustin, do a little dancing, get a little drunk. That plan had had to change when Dustin had managed to land a job as a DJ, and had then subsequently landed a few gigs shortly there after. Po had gone to one of the clubs he'd been working at, and she'd lingered for a while, drinking and dancing, but in the end she'd passed her friend a note to let him know she head heading back to the apartments, then made her way out into the cold. She'd been expected a chilly, brisk walk home. What she'd find as she walked out of the club, instead, was a civilian girl being attacked by what looked to be an order senshi. Curious. Lips pursed, the young woman slipped down the nearest alleyway so she could power up. From the senshi she could claim a starseed. From the civilian, a new ally. The general could kill two birds with one stone here. Well, one if she were being technical. "That's just down right rude." Her voice was a purr as she appeared behind the senshi, grabbing them by their short hair and dragging their head back at an awkward angle. "Yet the poor thing go."

"What the--" the senshi growled, head bent back at an awkward angle when he was jerked back. His grip slipped, focus shifting from what he thought was an de-powered agent to the general who decided he was now her problem. A string of curses poured from his mouth as he let go of the civilian and twisted, attempting to pull free.
Jade gasped, grasping at her reddening throat, when her attacker let go, sucking in air like she didn't know when she'd get the chance to again. Blue eyes were wide in a mix of panic and awe as she looked at her rescuer. Her gaze swept over her face, to the purple hair, and then down the green uniform. It took her a quick second to place who each of them were, or rather what they were.
He was a senshi -- one of the terrorists and she was someone from the opposing side.
The senshi flailed, swatting at Xenotime uselessly, beneath her grip.
Jade swallowed, the action burning, as she pressed back against the pole too stunned by the turn of events to try and flee. Besides, she had a feeling that the woman had no intention of harming her, just the person who attacked her and the pale haired woman wanted to thank her rescuer.

He could twist all he wanted, but unless he was willing to rip a chunk of his own hair out, Xenotime wasn't letting go. Of course, accepting a a little pain and a bald spot would have been wiser. Lips pursed critically, the general glanced past the senshi's shoulder towards the girl he'd be attempting to strangle, and then back again. "Did your mother never teach you how treat a lady?" Her foot collided with the back of his knees, knocking him off his feet so she could loom over him. Then, with a smile, she bent so she could murmur something beside his ear, voice too low for the civilian to hear, but whatever she'd said was enough to make the senshi's eyes widen. Or perhaps that was the hand she'd slipped through his back, fingers closing around his starseed and squeezing before she drew it free and slipped it into the bag at her hip. A present for Umber. As the senshi went limp, Xeno released him, lips ticking up in a satisfied smile as he dropped like a broken doll at her feet. Now that he'd been dealt with, she could address the civilian. Voice kindly, features melting into concerned mask, she stepped over the senshi, approaching. "Are you alright? Did he hurt you?"

The pale haired woman watched the events unfold before her in a mixture of horror and awe. Her rescuer took care of the assailant effortlessly and she followed the movements with interest, immediately wondering if it was something she could successfully replicate-- for what, she didn't know. Then, the man went still, light dimming from his still-wide eyes and Jade felt her mouth go dry.
Her heart thumped against her ribs when Xenotime's attention turned to her, concern across her face. "Y-yeah," she stuttered, swallowing in a poor attempt to keep her tongue from feeling thick in her mouth. "I mean, my throat hurts, but I'm unscathed otherwise." She'd probably have bruises on her throat later, but she could cover it up with makeup if needed and it was cold out, she could wear scarves.
"I should-- hey, thanks for the rescue," Jade said, offering the other woman a sheepish smile when she carded her hand through her hair. "I would've been in serious trouble without you. You just-- it was awesome, watching you." She had some athletic ability, some background in gymnastics but no fighting skills or experience so seeing someone who clearly did first hand, it was amazing.
"So are all those sailor scout people that much of an a*****e?"

She was slow in her approach, posture laid back and as harmless as she could make herself appear. It wasn't easy, despite her short stature and generally soft features. She very nearly radiated with energy, potential violence, as she came to a stop in front of the civilian she'd just rescued. And wasn't that just a laugh and a half? General Xenotime, savior of Destiny City. It was priceless. "Those bruises are going to linger. You're sure you're okay?" She could play the part of the concerned, she was even good at it. A hand lifted, hovering in the air between them as if she might trace the dark edge of one, but she let it lower a moment later with a strained smile. "I'm sorry I wasn't quick enough to save you more pain." A more genuine smile followed the compliment, one melting into a grin as she slid her hood back so the other girl could see her face better. A gesture of transparency, even if it was meaningless. "Oh yes, for the most part. Some even worst. You're lucky that one wasn't stronger." She glance behind them, looking the fallen senshi up and down, though by now the magic had stripped away. No one she knew. "They're very dangerous, you know."

There was a way in which the other woman moved that told Jade that she wasn't seeing everything, that something was being held back. She couldn't decide it it was something worth bringing up or not. Jade could tell that the woman was dangerous when she wanted to be and the pale haired woman was not ready to potentially turn that around on herself.
"What doesn't kill you make you stronger right?" She replied with an offhanded shrug, absently reaching up to touch the tender skin. "I'm lucky you came around at all, he would've put me in the hospital if he didn't kill me first." It was easier to brush off the near death experience than it was to face the fact that someone just tried to kill her. She could have a break down or panic attack over it later.
Right now, something in her gut told her that appearing capable or strong was important.
The hood fell back and Jade took a moment to appreciate the woman's face, she was very attractive even with the mask obscuring her face. "They seem like it, suppose that's why there's a curfew but then," she paused, head cocking, "you're dangerous too, but in a different way."

Xenotime smiled at the question, chin dipping in a small approving nod, as if the girl had said something wise. "That is very true, I'm glad you see it that way." A potentially odd turn of phrase, though entirely sincere. "We should always strive to be stronger. Better than we are. Don't you agree?" It was something of a mantra for the general, and had been since she was very young. It was what attracted the Negaverse to her, and why it was attractive in return. Fingers curling around her opposite elbow, the general rested folded knuckles against her own lips as regarded the young woman as she correctly identified general as dangerous. She was absolutely right, of course, and maybe the subtle set of painted lips betrayed that. "I am, though not to you." At least not so long as the young woman continued to say all the right things. "I need to be dangerous, or else I wouldn't have been able to come to your rescue tonight." She spun lies and half truths like fine silk. Head cocking gently to one side, Xenotime's smile widened just a touched. "Have you ever wanted to be stronger?"

"Absolutely, what's the point of shying away from things if life is meant to be an experience?"
She wasn't a particularly strong individual, at least not physically, but she was determined to live life and make the best of things, no matter what. It wasn't that she didn't want to be more physically capable, but outside of general physical fitness it'd never occurred to her to do more. Now, Jade was wondering if it was important enough to dedicate time to.
"Well, I hope to keep it that way." The woman, whomever she was, seemed like someone she wanted to stay on the good side of if the man laying on the ground was any indication. "An air of danger can be great, it's only threatening if the intent is there." There wasn't a doubt in the woman's mind that if her rescuer wanted, she could do much more damage than her original assailant.
"I've never thought about it," she admitted, shrugging, "but, why wouldn't I?"

Again that smile, as if she approved of what the pale haired woman had to say. It was all music to Xenotime's ears. A bold girl, ready to take life by the reigns, eager to get stronger. She was perfect. "That's right." Life was for living. You attained nothing by simply settling. Closing the gap between them, the general tipped her head, a hand coming up to brush a long length of vivid hair back behind her shoulder. "You would, of course." For a split second it might have seemed as if she'd meant to lean in and kiss her, but the general shifted on her hips, stepping around the young woman to move a little further down the sidewalk. "I could help you. I could make it so they," at this she gestured idly behind her, at the dead senshi. "Can't hurt you like this anymore. "But we shouldn't stay here, not with him there." If anyone happened along...well, it wouldn't have been that big of a deal, and certainly nothing the general couldn't have taken care of quickly, but why bother when you could avoid the mess? Besides, she had other plans. "Why don't you come with me?" She didn't have much of a choice, really, but better to let her chose the inevitable if she could.

Jade was startled by the movement of the other woman, when she got so close she thought she might be kissed only to flit away. Blinking slowly, the taller woman didn't know how to react except to follow when asked with questions tumbling from her mouth.
"How would you do that?"
The prospect was tempting, even if she didn't know what it would entail. Still, she'd seen the strength Xenotime possessed and there were parts of her that craved to possess them too.
Blue eyes drifted to the fallen body and Jade swallowed the lump that'd been forming in her throat. There was a slight hesitation while she deliberated the notion that she was ready to run off with a stranger, who could be very dangerous, but there was nothing to really suggest that Xenotime intended to hurt her.
So, she followed.
"Okay, lead the way."

Chuckling lightly under her breath, Xenotime lead the way away from the fallen senshi, and down a side street, her pace casual. The tips of her fingers trailing along the wall at her side. "I can make you like me." It was a simple enough explanation, but it didn't really answer the question, and the general knew that. Of course, that was the point. Keep her curious, keep her interested, keep the mystery and make it appealing. "There's more too it than strength," she'd continue, glancing over her shoulder to flash the tall blonde a smile. "You'll be faster, harder to hurt." The smile spread into a grin. "Able to jump tall buildings in a single leap." To demonstrate she'd take two quick steps, then launch herself upward, landing gracefully on the rail of the fire escape that had stretched over head. Then the general vanished, disappearing completely, only to reappear at the taller girls' back, a hand lifting to tap her shoulder. "Teleportation, as you advance." Circling, Xenotime extended her arms, lips cocking up in a smug little smile. "Weapons, at your beck and call." It took nothing to summon the metal to her arms, the armor like plates, the spikes covering her knuckles. "The magic'll s**t comes in time. You'll start with something essentially useless, but you'll have your strength, your speed, your enhanced healing. You'll work for me, and sovereigns I serve."

"I don't know if I'll ever reach your levels of badassery," Jade admitted, shoulders shrugging back. The flattery might have been a bit much, but the woman wasn't one to shy away from saying things if she believed in them.
Xenotime kept explaining and Jade watched with fascination as the purple haired woman preformed physical feats she hadn't known were possible. If her jaw dropped open a little, well she couldn't help it. Then, her savior disappeared and an audible gasp left her mouth followed by a startled shriek when she was tapped on the shoulder.
"How did you-- Jesus Christ--" Her heart pounded in her chest, adrenaline flooding her veins as bright blue eyes looked down at the shorter woman with awe and wonder.
"Okay," she whispered, breathless as magic happened before her eyes. "I want in."

Flattery was always appreciated. The general smiled benignly, clearly pleased by the sweet words as glittering weaponry faded into nothingness again., fingers flexing in the cool air. "Magic," she purred, sliding into the taller woman's personal space again, grin flashing in the the dimness of the alley. It was better that she'd agreed, that she wanted everything Xenotime could offer her. It meant there would be no force needed, less chance for resentment later, or for the problems that could result from that sort of negativity. Hesitance wouldn't have stopped her from bringing the lovely lady into the fold, but this simplified things nicely. "I won't lie, it doesn't come without a cost, but pain only lasts a moment. I promise." Fingertips rested lightly against her chest. "Try not to scream." More warning than she might have normally have given. Xenotime tipped her hand into the woman's chest, fingertips wrapping around the warmth of the starseed buried there, and she pulled on that chaotic energy she had at her disposal, sinking it into the young woman she'd saved from death less than half an hour ago.

Magic.
The word had the woman buzzing with excitement. If magic-- If magic was real, then a whole new world and realm of possibilities were about to open up for her. That-- that was terribly exciting and too tempting for her to resist.
So, when her friend stepped into her space, she leaned forward instinctively.
"Pain is a part of being alive," Jade countered, shrugging. Blue eyes dropped to the hand on her chest, pale brow arching when the warning was given before the hand had slipped into her chest, but not her chest, a different place. Jade didn't--
It hurt, there was a searing pain that pierced her from wherever the woman's hand was. It flooded her system and Jade gasped, swallowing down the scream that tried to build, tried to escape.
Don't scream, she told herself, when her head tipped back and her eyes squeezed shut. Don't scream.
When it was all said and done she stood before Xenotime different but the same. Better.
