Europa raised her arms over her head and really leaned into the stretch. Between graduation activities and the holidays, she'd had to take a few weeks off patrol, but now she was back in action and ready to get going, winter weather be damned. She'd tossed a parka over her uniform, although the decorative wings at the base of her spine made it fit really weirdly.

He ribbons whipped around in the wind. She leaned over and rubbed her bare thighs, trying to smooth out the goosebumps - but that was a losing battle. She'd tried to fight it enough times to know better.

Feeling as ready as she'd ever be, Europa took a running leap off the edge of the roof, landing neatly on the next one, her footing confident on the shingles. "Like riding a bicycle," she told herself. "You've just got to get back into the game and stay in it."

Easier said than done - life kept throwing her distractions. But tonight she was tuning all those out and going for a run and seeing where that took her.

She jumped to another rooftop, and then, taking a breath to center herself, reached out with her mind's eye and tried to get the lay of the land - what other powered signatures were lurking nearby?
