She had made the decision to get better at patrolling - to do it more. Not just to meet other people and potentially make friends, though that was a plus for her. But she felt it really was something she needed to do, she had a duty to uphold now and people to help. There were people younger than her out here patrolling and more often! She felt like she was neglecting her duties, whatever they were, and so the day after New Years she had dragged herself from home, slipping out using the excuse of going out into the city for some food, and into the city she went.
Once she arrived in the city she had powered up, deep inside an alley way, and to the roof tops she took to. The red heels she wore hitting the ground as she walked across the first roof top and then a jump was taken to the next. landing with a resounding smack of heels, which was still jarring for her, and she continued.
She couldn't feel any auras, at the moment, and was glad for this. She knew she shouldn't be such a chicken, shouldn't fear running into someone on the other side or not want to. She did have a duty to fulfill after all. She should want an encounter - right?

Leucite was on the hunt. He was sure Stibnite would be amused by this prospect, as if one could hunt the concrete jungle. Iudicael stood beside him, tail wagging slowly as he lifted the gasping and choking man up against the wall. His other hand went into his chest, and with a smooth pulling motion, he removed the starseed from the drug dealer and left the body to crumple in a heap on to the pavement. Iudicael's tail stopped wagging and the youma looked far more alert. Leucite grinned, and gently placed the starseed on the beast's nose. "Hold..." He commanded, and Iudicael froze, even as eyes were latched on the lovely starseed perched on its nose. "Hold..."

As she was walking, roof top to roof top, things seemed normal until she felt something. It wasn't a good something that was for sure, she was also sure what she felt was stronger than herself. Could they sense her also? This wasn't good. Figuring she was already caught, or felt really, she stood frozen and waiting to see what would happen. Would the owner of the dark energy signature come for her? What would come after her? Male, female, what sort of danger would they bring with them?
Biting her lip she stiffened and tried to straighten herself up and appear more confident than she felt. This was a night she was out hoping to meet others like herself - not someone from the other side!
She could run still, she should run. But she knew they could teleport and while she didn't know how it worked, or if they all could teleport, it wasn't something she was going to do. She wasn't going to run from what could easily, in her mind, get her. It was a waste of energy. She stood there waiting to see what would happen, she wasn't stupid enough to walk toward it further than she already was. Backing away, or running, were both a waste as far as she could figure.

Leucite felt the weaker order energy signature come into range and he grinned. "Take!" He commanded, and Iudicael snapped the starseed into is hungry maw. A treat for the youma, who had been quite well behaved as of late. Leucite accredited that to the time they had spent together, side by side in the Rift. The Rift Crystal Rosary had been secured around his sash, but was for the most part hidden by his coat. So he wasn't too worried about it slipping off or getting lost. Turning his attention to the new signature though, he spun on his heel. Jumping to the rooftops took him some time (and forced him to leave Iudicael on the ground below, but all the better to lay in wait for the target if he could herd it down there.) He crossed the distance between them rather quickly, noting that it did not flee from him. Then he noticed that it was a she. And she was a young woman. Landing a "safe" distance away from her, he watched her with a small, smug smile. "It's dangerous for you to be out here alone."

Startled she tried to hide it, tried not to jump, as she stared at the other. Certainly a Negaverse officer, not a General but a Captain. "I could say the same for anyone - this is war." She stated with a smile as she tried to relax, to calm herself and appear normal.
"It's fitting I should be out here tonight though, or any night, and alone." Shrugging she looked at her own lacy outfit, made a small gesture with her hands, allowing the ruffled sleeve to float about her wrist and hand. "It's my duty to be out here anyway - protecting people." From people like him, she didn't need to say that however. What had this one been doing before now? Had he been hurting someone? Or just doing as she - patrolling?

"I'm not alone..." Leucite said with a small smile. "I'm never alone, but that's not the point." As he spoke, he'd opened his jacket just enough for the rosary to show, as if to make a point. "You say you're protecting people..."
His voice hung for a moment as he looked her over. "But are you? Really? I'm protecting people. I've already dealt with three drug dealers tonight... What have you done?"
His feet slowly moved to close the distance between them, though around and to the side of her, not straight on. He needed to guide her down off the roof, toward Iudicael.
"How have you protected a single soul of this city."

"Oh? How is that? Got a little voice or two?" She asked tilting her head. The words ended as he showed off a...rosary...was he religious? That was certainly unexpected and odd as far as she was concerned. Why would a negaverse officer have such a thing on their person? It didn't surprise her to find someone who was religious but to have that on their person? That was the odd thing. Although given what they did, from what she'd been told, it was a bit odd as well really to find out this one might be religious. But she didn't know for sure, though why else have that and show it? Why partner the show and tell with those words?
"Drug dealers...so your doing good?" She asked while gripping at her own sleeves. "I've only just gotten out tonight so nothing yet." She answered, as if she was sure she would do something. But to go after a civilian...even if they were a drug dealer. Could she do that? They were a bad person. Police went after drug dealers all the time and it was a good thing. So was this officer doing a good thing? Was he good?
"I helped people in a restaurant who were being attacked by another officer and his youma." She answered quickly as she stood a bit straighter, blue eyes on him.

"Collateral damage happens." Leucite said cooly. "Honestly, if I could get people to understand that they are just helping themselves with sharing a bit of energy... Well things would be a lot easier." He said with a wry smile.
"But alas, not in a position to really bring that about." He said quietly. "A little energy to protect the planet against invasion... The souls of those who do evil against the state and the people... Is that so wrong?"
His question was not rhetorical, even if it was phrased as such. Boots moved closer, closing the gap, trying to get her to move toward the edge of the roof. Even if it was just enough for him to charge and bull rush her off the damn thing.
She was the enemy - but that didn't mean he couldn't have a bit of banter first. Convert or Die... Those were the words he lived by.
"I kill," Leucite said. "I do that which the police have no time or desire to do. I clean the streets the most effective way possible..." His voice carried a tone of righteous conviction.
"But it is the greater good I serve."

"What would that energy do?" She asked while staring at him, watching him move closer. Stepping back her red heels clicked on the roof top. If anyone were down inside the building they thankfully wouldn't hear a thing, the roof being too thick.
"Have you not seen the news lately? Cops are killing people...just not the same ones...you are killing." She didn't like thinking about that, about killing a person. The words left her lips however, even as the thought made her cringe and want to hide. She had to be strong though, she couldn't show so much weakness.
"So who are you? Who is it that helps the people by removing drug dealers?" She asked, wanting to change the subject. "I am Sailor Nephthys, senshi of vampires." Stepping backward again she kept her eyes on the other.

"Captain Leucite," He said with a small nod, keeping his pace slow. No need to rush. Patience. Speed wasn't scary. Walking calmly really sent a chill down the prey's spine. You stopped being human than. You became a force of nature. Slow, methodical.
Unstoppable.
"It would feed the angels..." He said with another wry smile. "Or what you would call youma..." He added, to clarify his statement. "Though, I believe they are here to do righteous work, to protect this planet from invasion."
From her.
"It is... nice... to meet you, Nephthys. Though much like your title implies, your kind would soon suck this world free of life. This is why we seek to stop you." Not entirely true but...
"I will not see the people of this planet subjugated by those not of it."
Closer... and closer...

"Angels...youma aren't angels. I mean...by definition they can't be." She said shaking her head. He was seriously comparing a youma to an angel, calling a youma an angel? They were two vastly different things. "I don't think they are here for that. I think they are simply here to attack people." She answered even as he started to speak again.
There was something wrong with him, something dangerous. The pausing in his words, the done. She didn't like it at all, she didn't like him.
"I'm not looking to subjugate people...or be like a vampire." Even though she was the senshi of vampires.
When her back legs hit the brick and concrete that surrounded the edge of the roof top in a small wall, only coming up to mid calf height, she stared back at it before looking to the captain. This wasn't good.
Bringing both her hands up, as if to splash him with water that wasn't there, she whispered her attack and making the splashing motion sent three black bats out toward the captain. Wings flapped and bats sought to make contact to bite the other and rain him of some of his energy. Quote: Sailor Scout Attack: Sailor Nephthys raises both her arms in front of her, as if splashing someone with something, as she calls her attack. This attack summons three bats, playing on the lore that vampires could turn into bats, and not only do they serve as a distraction but if they bite a person they drain that person(s) of energy. The bats actually do drain a victims energy, equivalent to pulling an all nighter. For those people it will be noticeable if they are using a lot of their own attacks or are very active in a battle. This attack can be aimed at more than one person, as there are three bats. They can be attacked and destroyed or avoided of course. This attack is an instant cast and the bats will last for fifteen seconds before vanishing of their own accord. The spell can be cast three times in battle.

Closer and closer and then suddenly magic. Cussing under his breath he charged then, bull rushing toward her now that she was stuck on the edge of the roof. Right through the bats, not even trying to bat them away as he felt them sink fangs into him and drain him of his energy. He'd already been at some work that night, so he felt it.
But it was not the first time he'd pushed himself too hard.
It did slow him down a bit, however, but probably not enough.
His fist was driving hard toward her gut as he closed in, hoping to keep the momentum and send her barreling over the edge.

The fist did hit her, she wasn't able to avoid it, and she did go over the ledge but she reached out to grab at him and tug him along with her. If she was going down, which she was, he was going to join her.
This was not going to be a good landing, even if it was a two story building. The landing would surely hurt - a lot. But as she twisted her eyes landed on it - a youma. s**t! Cursing to herself she now understood. He was aiming for this to happen to her - he wanted her dead.
When she hit the ground it was with a pained sound and all the air rushing from her lungs as the impact caused it all to woosh right out of her. Gasping and folding up into herself her dark blue eyes slowly opened as she reminded herself about the youma. She also didn't trust that the Captain wouldn't be ok and coming after her.

Leucite had been expecting to go over the ledge, that much was true. However, he had been expecting to do so in a much more controlled manner than being grabbed by the jacket and heaved over the side along with her. There was nothing for it, and with a low, angry grunt, he did his best to ensure that they both landed on their sides. His own free arm trying to splay out to absorb as much force along all of his body as he could.
It was still jarring, and he knew his ribs would be bruised if not broken from the impact of the hard pavement below. Thank God for enhanced healing and stamina.
The world realed around him, but he managed to gasp out one word.
"BITE!"
That was all Iudicael needed. The youma quickly darted into the fray, jaws clamping down on the woman's hamstring muscles hard, fangs sinking deep into flesh like a bear trap.
Much like a bear trap, these teeth would not release unless Leucite ordered it so, or she managed to dust the youma.
Groaning, Leucite rolled over, and shambled back onto his feet, trying to gather his bearings.
He HURT.

he hurt?! She hurt! She had cried out, as much as she could, from the ground as the youma sunk it's teeth into her leg. Biting down on her bottom lip to silence herself, tears sprang to her dark blue eyes and fell down pale cheeks. She shifted and tried to reach for the youma and strike it. She brought her hands up, shaking as they were, and unleashed her attack upon the youma in the hopes she could tire it out, unlock it's jar from her leg.
The energy she put into moving her arms, into the motions of her attack, showered how much she'd been hurt from the fall. She would be bruised and if she didn't have any broken bones she'd be shocked and also thankful. But she likely had broken something.
She hoped however that he had been as damaged as she had been, or more so. This wasn't something she'd ever wished upon a person, never thought she would either, but she was hoping he'd gotten badly injured.
