There she was, right where he had left her by the little oasis, or so close as to make no nevermind. Kiyelt sighed with pride, she was a magnificent janarim, powerful, beautiful and they were about to get up close and personal with her. "Just as beautiful as I remember, isn't she Ichil?" He sighed happily and scuttled closer, he was surprised to find he still had energy, it had been a long and eventful day, but he would most likely sleep like the dead tonight. He and Ichil were the only ones out this far as close as he could tell. Two earthlings and a janarim go into the desert...who comes out?
He kept his eyes on the janarim when she had her head down to feed on the carcass she had caught earlier he moved closer hoping Ichil would follow him. Tip toe ing through some branches he paused by a bush and rested, nervous and excited. It had been a while since he had been out taming for sure and they were out after his favorite a janarim after all. With his new friend who also made it more exciting, what was a man to do?
"We are almost close enough to her now to engage, stay close ish to me, she probably won't run and abandon a fresh kill and uh sorry for the blood it can't be helped we can wash later." He was expecting a mess if they succeeded in getting close enough and he was pretty sure she wouldn't move unless something much bigger then them came along.

The path back out into the wilderness had been circuitous at best, but one had to be careful when pursued. It was a sweet sort of coincidence that they were going out themselves to try and find a creature of their own. Ichil still wasn't sure if the janarim was to live with herself or with Kiyelt when caught. If it was the former, he'd need to teach her a thing or two before she headed back for the palace. That was, of course, if they captured the beast at all.
Ichil followed the best she could, miming Kiyelt's posture and exact footsteps when possible. She had never been out taming on her own time so she was willfully taking up the apprentice's position. She ducked behind a bush with Kiyelt and waved a hand dismissively. "I've fought in battle, a little blood isn't going to bother me." At one time it might have, but war had taken away some of her sensitivities. Besides, this was the circle of nature. A wild janarim had to eat. "How, exactly, are we going to 'engage' her?"

"Well we confront her, she will probably charge me, cause I'm big and scary and then we battle, got your crossbow handy I see, good, please cover me if it looks like I'm about to get mauled okay? I'm quick but I've also never fought her before so I don't know what she has up her sleeves." He stepped from the bush and circled around to the side, of her talking calmly. "Hello my lady, what I fine meal you have there, no don't worry we are not after it, do me a favor and don't bite Ichil, I like her and she would probably appreciate me less if I got her wounded." The janarim glared at him and Kiyelt lept on her from the side after a swift run, he got on top and tried not to get bitten while he used his whip to help him stay on. He would tire her out and pin her head. It took a long time but she was finally panting and he was absolutely covered in sweat and dirt, he thanked the gods she hadn't rolled on him. That would have sucked. He pinned her head and she let him. "Okay Ichil its your turn, she will resist you because she hasn't fought you get but hang onto her head, shes weaker now." 487/550

Well, that hadn't exactly answered her question, had it? She'd asked what the confrontation would consist of, not what to do if whatever it was somehow started to go wrong. So this could be a taming or a hunt. Huh. Could you even eat janarim? She wouldn't want to just wound it and make the poor thing limp away. Hah, 'poor thing.' She could easily take the both of them out if Kiyelt wasn't what he was. That only endeared Ichil more to the beast, of course. She was female, but unbelievably powerful.
Before Ichil could call Kiyelt out on his lack of information, though, he was off and running toward the beast. She had absolutely no idea what a beast taming consisted of but she put a bolt into her bow and drew back anyway. The Oban watched with admiration as Kiyelt leaped atop the beast and rode her ragged, no backup needed. He was sweaty, glistening, quite pretty to look at, actually, and then he was talking to her. Okay, help him, right. She put her bow down and ran to the janarim, unsure at first what to do. Pin its head? How? It was so big! With a little huff of air, Ichil put a knee to either side of the beast's head and put all of her weight atop it with her hands. That way she wouldn't pitch over if the janarim struggled strongly enough to tip her, but instead be able to shift her weight. "Alright. I think I've got it."

"Okay, I'm going to let go now, you'll be doing this part on your own but I'm right here if things start to go wonky. Don't worry. Deep breaths." He released the beast and backed up to let her deal with it. He watched avidly expectant for what he was not sure but he felt like Ichil would do a fine job, the beast was to be hers after all therefore it would have to respect her as well not just him. It would be awkward if he was the only one able to ride her janarim and she by default had to ride his. What a silly mess that would be. He grinned. "You can do this Ichil." 606/550

What?! He was just going to let go?! But what was she supposed to do?! Ichil took the deep breath Kiyelt suggested and readied herself for a fight. The janarim was weakened at least, that was good. She never could have taken the frightening ride Kiyelt had as if it had been nothing at all. He already had a janarim tamed, though, she reminded herself. He knew what he was doing.
Then he let go and it was all her. The janarim did as expected, trying to lift her head and toss the young Oban. Ichil was deviously muscular, though and found it easy enough to move when the janarim did. Come on, little one, you could do it! Of course she wasn't sure if she was talking to herself or the great beast beneath her. The janarim tried to rise but Ichil held her down, reaching an arm out to press at its shoulders as they rose off of the ground. She'd throw all of her weight if she had to, but no. The janarim fell to the ground, breathing heavily, and Ichil couldn't help but grin and laugh and look to Kiyelt.

"Thats perfect, now just talk to her and see if she will stay around when you let her go, if not I'll try after, shes too pretty to just let walk away." Much like Ichil herself, he thought as he grinned with pride, but Ichil had more than just looks, there was so much more. He watched passively, it was good to be out taming again, and with a completely new Janarim yet. He was a happy camper. 684/500

Ichil nodded and turned to look at the Janarim. She released some pressure and stroked her head between the horns.
"Hello, sweet thing," Ichil said, speaking softly, "I don't want to keep holding you down. Would you like to come with me? I'd like it if you would. You're very, very pretty and I have a whole big world to show you. You won't have to hunt any more. You can sleep on pillows if you come with me, I bet you'll fit through the door. You're no taller than my father, after all." The janarim huffed. Ichil released more pressure and allowed the beast to lift its head. It leaned up to sniff Ichil's chin, and Ichil just let her, even knowing the creature could easily take her face off.
"If I let you go, will you come with us?" She scratched the janarim under the chin. She slowly released the janarim's head, and the creature just lay there where Kiyelt had left her. Ichil looked to Kiyelt with surprise on her face. Had that... had that just happened?!

Kiyelt stroked the janarim's back as after a moment the huge creature stood. "What a good girl you are, he tied a loose bit of string over her head in a halter fashion and gave the lead to Ichil. "Have fun beast charmer!" He grinned at Ichil.
