- CHILDHOOD Lewis doesn't remember many of the details of his early childhood. He remembered having a dad, but no mom. He lived in a small house with his dad, it had a big backyard, he remembered. One night though, the house caught on fire. Unfortunately, Lewis' dad didn't make it. After everything was said and done, Lewis was dropped off at Wools orphanage. He was only three, and he didn't really understand how death worked, but he knew that he was there for a reason. He figured that reason was to make people laugh. He loved to laugh, and whenever he laughed, other people laughed too. It was great! One day, two men came to the orphanage, looking to adopt a child. Lewis smiled his biggest grin at them, and he ended up going home with them, along with four other kids! Now he had two dads and a whole bunch of brothers and a sister to make happy!
