Diana was literally the worst at directions. Twenty six years old and the woman couldn't even make her way down the street without getting lost before she became a hunter. It was a wonder she survived the undying at all. Now she'd simply been wandering around Deus with no real goal, unsure of what to do. She didn't know where anything was. Hell, she had a hard enough time getting back to her room when she got turned around. This wasn't Canada and she was thrown off by everything. The weather was different, there were so many strange people, and now she had this talking monstrosity of a weapon.
Stop worrying about it so much. I'm your guide now, sweetheart.
"Yeah, that's really not reassuring at all, Kal. You're an a**," she grumbled, paying no attention to her surroundings. She had been doing fine so far, but turning the corner too quickly had been a bad idea when she nearly collided with a much taller male in front of her.

I apologize for awfulness in advance. ^^'

The secondary base had not been Chance's first choice of a place to spend the past several weeks, especially with how last minute the assignment had been. But he'd had no choice, and had been seconded away at a base somewhere in the north, which was annoying. He'd come back for Christmas, at the very least, with enough time to spend with Otto before going back to finish his work for a few days following.
And now he was back for good, stepping out of the lighthouse and onto the familiar island once more. Chance slung his duffle bag over his shoulder and padded across the campus of Deus, looking relatively worse for the wear, his dark hair mussed and dirt on his hands and face.
He was intent on a shower and a good meal, but rounding the dormitory building found Chance smacking into someone walking the opposite way. He stumbled back a few steps, letting out a sound of surprise, and a hand rose instinctively to grasp the shoulder of whoever it was to steady them.
"Hey there," he said lightly, eyebrows raising. "You okay?"

"Oh I - uh," Diana paused, trying to compose herself before continuing to speak to the man. When she couldn't properly think of a response, she pretty much gave up and said whatever came out of her mouth. "Sorry. New here and all. Trying to figure out things." There, that hadn't been too bad. Maybe he wouldn't think she was an idiot.
She took a moment to look over the man, spotting the dirt and instantly regretting causing him delay in whatever it was he was doing. Though by the looks of it he w as probably trying to shower. Or go to his room. Or both. Well, not shower in his room unless he was lucky and had one of those things. She wondered if anyone had showers in her room for a moment before focusing back again.
"You uh, just get back from some sort of job or something?"

He smiled down at her and hoisted his bag a bit further up his shoulder, Chance's free hand leaving her shoulder and sliding into his pocket. "No worries," he said lightly. "I've been here a few years myself, and I'm still trying to figure things out."
A laugh escaped, easygoing and relaxed.
"I just got off a remote base somewhere in the mountains," said Chance mildly. "I've been there a few weeks now, finally got a chance to come back. I'm Chance, by the way. You just get here?"

"Y-yeah. One of the newbies that came from the Delta happenings. Though I don't exactly remember much. Not sure if it's a good thing or not," she shrugged, tapping the toe of her shoe against the floor. "Everyone seems pretty young around here. It's a bit strange that there's this powerful group of people all fairly young fighting all these evil things."
She smiled, feeling a bit awkward for rambling. She'd been out of touch with people for too long it seemed. What with prison and then being stuck in a pod for three months. Her social skills were beyond a little rusty.
"I'm Diana. It is very nice to meet you Chance."

Chance only vaguely knew of the Delta happenings; he'd have to figure all that out at some point, he supposed, and then laughed.
"I think most of us are in our mid twenties or so, yes," he said, shaking his head so that his curls flopped messily against his dirt streaked face. "Some younger, with very few older. Not entirely sure how that worked out, but somehow it did, and, well, here we are."
He flashed her - Diana - a smile. "I'm sure you'll get the hang of things pretty soon, it's a little straightforward once you get started. What division are you in?"

"I'm a sun! Exciting I know, but my...my uh friend is a moon so I figured being a sun would be the best way to help him out. I still don't know too much though so hopefully I made the right choice," Diana explained, shrugging a bit at her explanation. She really just wanted to protect and help out however she could.
"What about yourself? What exciting faction did you decide to join, Mr. Chance?"

"Oh, me too," said Chance with a smile. "I didn't really get a chance - pardon the pun - to pick which division I was placed in, I just woke up and was told this was where I'm meant to be. But," he added with a slight shrug. "I don't mind, it's a good division, even if the assistant is a bit weird."
He hadn't met the actual lead yet, but Allan was, well...interesting, to say the least.
A laugh escaped, Chance grinning at Diana. "Just Chance is fine, no need for mister. Or Bones, if you want to call me by my last name as some people do."

"Chance," she nodded, repeating his name to better memorize it to his face. She listened to him intently, frowning as he mentioned the sun assistant. She hadn't met the person either. Or really anyone from her faction besides him for that matter. Chel...she believed Chel was Death faction, and Max was her moon. So it seemed Chance really was the first sunny she'd met.
"Honestly I'm pretty lost here and you're the only other sun I've met. Are there club meetings or something for the factions? Or are we just supposed to figure out who is in what faction?"
