Hobbies:Reading - Alfred is a bibliophile. He adores reading, because reading is learning - which sort of proves he's related to his grandfather really. Alfred ius often found with a book in hand walking between classes or around his home, nose in his book for hours, wrapped up in myth, folk stories, and history. He favors the classics (Like Dante's Inferno or Hitch Hiker's guide to the Galaxy) and education over silly things (like trashy romance novels, who reads that?). He will read, reread, and then treasure books for more readings, and damaging his books is a cardinal sin. In fact, he keeps ornate blank books to write in, which he then reads for personal fiction later. Even if some of it is embarrassing (It's not like he wrote about two friends and he will deny it fervently. And then read it.).
Drawing - Alfred uses drawing as a means to remember things. He enjoys sketching places, people, and things he sees or the images in his mind from books. He developed drawing as a skill to appear more sensitive to girls, and ended up enjoying it. If not reading or bonding with family, he spends his time carefully sketching out stories and maps, people and plants and anything he can in his other emty books, the decorated sketchbooks. He's skilled in pencil, and pen and ink, as well as color pencil, pastels, and charcoals - basically, traditional material, and has a grand time recording and drawing just because.
Women - Alfred is that teenager with a few adult magazines under his bed for personal use. He has a very healthy appreciation for women, however, unlike his cousin Reynard, he's not as good with them. Alfred is a terrible flirt and happily tries to play up prince charming, but while he talks a good game, his ego gets a little too big and he often falls flat on his face. He doesn't see women as property or prizes - he genuinely thinks you're beautiful and lucky to have his attention!... But he's still not as good as he thinks, and still ends up making more friends than romantic connections.
Virtues:Well SpokenI'll make a case of which I'm certain.Alfred reads often, and has been taught how to speak both from reading and observation. To this end, he's very skilled at speaking, not just with vocabulary - but his mannerisms are calm, and informed. He tries to not waste words and when he speaks it is with purpose. His diction is excellent and many find him a joy to speak to and listen to speaking - in that he does it well and speaks intelligently.
ComposedI walk the line!Alfred doesn't excite or upset easily. He's calm and calculated, and doesn't give in to more extreme reactions often. Most problems most call catastrophe are nuisances for him, or so it appears,He functions better than most under pressure, making him the person people go to for a solid shoulder more often than not, and it makes him quite easy to speak to of bad news as well.
ObservantHe came upon some tracks too small for Andy to make.Alfred is very hard to lie to. He monitors body language, from the tells everyone knows to the small odd ticks. He watches all of you and then the area around, and notes everything. He notes things, and then he reads things everywhere Alfred picks up the things most people miss. When he finishes, he often applies it, in speaking, in responses, or in learning his surroundings. He's quite observant indeed, and very little if anything gets by him.
Doesn't Give Up EasilyFight those bastards till they yield! When Alfred has a goal, he doesn't give up easily just because of details like the task being hard, or unpleasant. He keeps right at work trying to keep at it as long as is reasonable, and maybe a little longer. His goal is to get things done, as best her can, but he can accept when he cannot perform a task and will put it down, hard as it is, for another whom can finish, with little complaint.
Flaws:
Tongue of SilverThese boots are made for walkin', and that's just what they'll do.Alfred speaks well, however, conversation partners beware- his tongue is silver and he's quite ready to turn it on others, often using gilded words and compliments to insult you without you knowing he's done it - or, alternatively, he'll get caught and then insult you with a silver tongued wise crack.
CompartmentalizesSee a perfect forest for so many splintered trees...Alfred places every emotion in a small box - it's how he keeps so calm and collected. By this way he avoids addressing his feelings, and has since his parents passed and his grandfather began raising him alongside his adopted aunt's children. However boxes have limits and it's obvious he compartmentalizes, as when he falls apart, everything breaks down, forcing him to address the matter. It's not healthy, and despite how obvious it is, he denies doing it vehemently, leaving it a constant concern for those whom know him very well.
EgocentricI'm young and I'm underpaid.Alfred is better than most people if you ask him. He's better looking and smarter. His family is better than you too, every last one. To say Alfred has an ego and is completely full of himself is an understatement. His ego is the sort that compels him to act like a snob at times, or to flaunt himself. It's also a huge blockade between he and his goals of being liked by all, especially ladies, as he thinks he deserves. It can afford to be popped, although it may sadly be cast iron.
JudgmentalShut up and smile.Alfred is the sort to judge everything you do and how you do it. If it isn't exactly right, then he'll happily judge you and call you on it. He doesn't mean to be cruel, but you can do better, and clearly you have something that needs his intervention, lucky you. Alfred is one to judge not on looks, but actions and deeds, unconsciously, usually, and consciously as needed, trying to help. Does it work? No. Because being judgmental doesn't help anyone in the long term - it's just mean.
