To be fair.
She could have called him--and any of the others, she supposed--a long time ago.
Metis had sat with her phone in her hand for a long time, perched on a rooftop, aware her energy signature as a Super could potentially attract trouble. Yet it took her a long while before she finally worked with the voice on her phone to call one of her teammates. Victoria. Vic.
They'd met plenty of times as civilians, though recently she'd begun to contact... well, anyone less and less. Her patrols were always solo now. Not that she minded it. A part of her... liked the rebellious edge she felt when she did it. Petty and pathetic, sure, but.
Her ego stung a bit--along with her body after that damn General--and she called her teammate.
"Hey... Vic? Yeah, sorry it's been so long... are you free? I'm on a rooftop by Veteran's Park. I figured we could patrol or... talk?" She felt awkward doing this.
But at least she was doing something.

He hadn't heard the voice from the past in ages, he paused when she asked if he was free, and that she was on the rooftop by Veteran's Park. "I'll be there soon."
He assured her, he was perhaps a little too excited to see one of his teammates. They had things to catch up on right? He felt like they did. He knew his sisters missed her too.
It didn't take him long to get to the rooftops and use them as means of travel. Finally slowing when he could feel her. "Metis!" His hair fell softly around him as it settled from his running.
He waited for the girl to face him, as soon as she was he would close the gap to grab her in a hug.

A part of her had been nervous he would refuse, or say he was busy, or just... something. But it was easy and breezy, the response, and she'd felt her nerves ease up a bit. Maybe it wouldn't be such an awkward thing, after all?
She'd remained where she sat, watching the energy waves flickering here and there over her range of vision, scanning the outlines and waves for anything out of the ordinary. The approach of another Order energy caught her long before the additional copper waves entered her field of vision, and Metis smiled at the sound of a familiar voice.
Standing, she turned to wave, taking but a single step before finding the figure closing the distance quickly and giving her a hug. Startled, she hesitated for a small second before returning the hug, smiling at the friendly contact. "It's so good to see you again, Vic. I'm sorry I didn't contact you sooner. Have you been well?"

"Ahah I've missed you." He said softly as she hugged him back, "And well, as good as can be expected. After all, you know how many mouths there are to feed."
"The girls would love to see you and raja again. They missed both of you." He laughed a little, "I think Kata has you something, asked just the other day when I'd see you again. You'll have to not be a stranger to them Metis."
He paused before straying into slightly darker thoughts, "Most of the team seems to be on hiatus too, I've been trying to find some new friends to spend time with, but it's difficult."
He sighed, "I met a really nice negaverse officer. His name's Ploutonion, he was corrupted into their ranks and well, he didn't really want to be and wished he could undo it."
There was a pause, "He was the nicest one I met, the rest of them tried to tear me to pieces, or we scuffled and then talked for a little bit. . . . "
"I think there's a lot to learn from them . . . " He paused as he sighed softly, moving to sit down on the ledge of the building, his body language said he'd been depressed and still fairly was. His Russian accent, was thicker than Metis had perhaps been used to, too. It was almost evident how cut off from others he'd become.
"What about you?" He said trying to turn the chat chipper again, "Do anything fun or find something interesting while you were busy?"

Metis winced as guilt flared in her chest, blooming in her cheeks as a flush of red. It'd been a while since she'd seen his sisters, or really... much of anyone. The fact that she could have just picked up her phone and made the simple calls ate at her then, and she let out a small breath. "I've been rather horrible and should have just reached out to others... I'll call Kata soon--no, I'll call her tomorrow," she amended firmly, kicking herself a bit.
She'd been too passive lately. It was eating away at her life. Not that she could blame Vic for saying he'd been trying to find new people, but it still stung. She'd done nothing to amend things sooner... "I keep trying to contact Iris but... I haven't heard anything. I have no idea what happened to everyone, I'd sort of been hoping maybe you'd been in contact with any of them."
As he continued, Metis pulled back sharply, a hand moving to toy with the brooch at her chest. Her brow was furrowed, empty eyes flickering side to side in her unease.
"A... nice Negaverse officer." Her voice dripped disbelief and she felt her hackles raise a bit at the mere notion. But at the notion this Ploutonion was corrupted without really wanting to be, her shoulders laxed... slightly. "Knights can be corrupted against their will?" That was a... disturbing concept. She knew extremely little about the process for corruption or purification. Even what had happened to Psyche largely eluded her.
"What... do you mean learn from them..? Does he wish to be purified..? I've met a Knight who has gone through that... I could ask him?" Though Iris had been involved in Kairatos' purification, and Metis had no idea who else could be used--or what the specifics were beyond being a Princess.
Sighing a bit, knowing she was being hostile and not wanting to push away Vic, she moved over to sit beside him. The heels of her boots clicked against the side of the building as she swung her legs a bit, watching her copper form in her vision. "I'm... sorry. I've yet to encounter any such friendly agents, to say the least. But if there are those that want to purify, then it logically must mean not all are hostile." His body language did trouble her, and she placed a careful hand on his shoulder, rubbing gently. She should have contacted him sooner...
"Well. I was around when a Page awakened. I met one of the Dark Mirror Senshi and he was rather friendly. I'll be graduating next year with my B.A. I've already been pre-accepted into a Masters program. I've been... focusing more on my civilian life than my life as a senshi," she summarized with a wince.

Victoria smiled softly, "Kata'll like that, hopefully you'll enjoy the present she made you too." He'd seen it but he didn't want to spoil the surprise.
There was a frown when she said she'd been trying to contact Iris, "No, she wouldn't return my calls either. I don't know what happened. . . "
He shook his head softly as he pulled some of his hair around and played with, it was longer that Metis had probably ever seen him with, well, as much of it as she could tell was hair.
He nodded when she seemed skeptical. "Yeah, there's some good out there, mostly bad. But, a few rays of hope." He paused, "Yeah, I think they can. That's how it seemed anyways." He shifted a little, "Plou said something about not being able to remember anything expect his name and nothing of his civilian life. So he didn't even know if he had a family previously. They had made an example of him . . . so that sounds forced."
That was sad, not knowing if you had family? It was really sad. Something that worried Victoria, "If anything like that ever happened to use, we'd find a way to remind ourselves when we were fixed right?" He paused, "I don't think anyone should ever know if they're broken like that. . . ."
There was a small pause as she asked what did he learn from them, "I think he does want to be purified, or at least he'd be easier to bring back to us." His cheeks flushed a little, "He's really sweet. . . ." He was holding back the fact the other had kissed him when they first met, biting his lower lip softly as he thought about it.
"Do you think we could save him?" He asked softly when he realized she'd mentioned something about another knight that'd been purified. "I wonder what that'd do to his memory though. . . . " Would Plou forget him?
There was a pause, "Oh congrats early with your B.A. Look at you all grown up and already going on to a master's degree." He was happy for her, something positive that wasn't all about this war. "I hope the girls can all be able to afford the colleges they want to go to when they're old enough. Galya and Darya will probably be the first two to go." He'd studied a little at the local community college; but he couldn't afford one of those large fancy colleges.

Metis had been unable to keep the excited smile from her lips at the thought that his sister had gone out of her way to make her a gift. Though there was still that guilt for not being in touch, she told herself she could fix it. There were still ways to make up for lost time and fix things.
Though she couldn't see the details of his figure, she could still see the movements in his silhouette, and Metis frowned. Even in his voice, there was an edge of something. Though she had to admit, it was fascinating to hear that the knight's memories had been altered so much--though very tragic--she considered the what-if scenario Victoria proposed. "Others might have to help remind us, if there's that sort of damage when a corruption happens... but Kairatos had memories of the Negaverse... perhaps if it as a forced action, it disrupts memories? Trauma?"
Her fists tightened amongst her skirts as she considered the ever happened to us part of his words. Memories of that future that made no sense to her flickered through her mind, and Metis frowned. So many people lost... she couldn't let that future become reality.
But her attention on that dwindled, focusing on the present, when Vic hedged around talking of the knight. A brow lifted, and Metis leaned her shoulder into his a bit, noting the tone in his voice. "Sweet, in what way? You sound very fond of this agent." The observation was made in a light voice--friendly, but pointed. But she was silent for a moment as she considered his questions. "If... Kairatos was able to remember the Negaverse, there is a chance that Ploutonion would have the same memories, provided there wasn't trauma induced in the purification process. But I've... never heard of anyone being forcibly purified, have you?"
Metis flushed a bit at the comment of being all grown up. Nudging him a bit with her elbow, she smiled gently as he mentioned his sisters. The mention of affording though... "Vic... I don't usually like to bring this up, and I apologize if this is forward..." She usually tried to avoid conversations of funding, knowing she came from money with her parents having successful careers--her father especially, due to his high-class clientele and the bookoo bucks that had brought to the family over the years. "But if you guys ever need help with money... especially for food, home, education... my family can help."

He nodded when Metis answered his what-if, with others might have to remind them. He was sure they would. As long as they had someone, "So lets make sure, just in case something ever happened; that we at least have each other."
His cheeks flushed more when she caught onto him. "Oh. . . um . . ." He rubbed the back of his head sheepishly. "He uh. . . kissed me?"
There was this awkward moment before he added, "He called me handsome first . . . I . . . I don't know, Metis . . . " There was another moment of silence, "I . . . kind of liked it?"
He then tried very hard to divert back to a less embarrassing topic."Yeah I've never heard of a forced purification, I don't think we could, luckily . . . maybe?"
He paused when she started talking about if they ever needed help. "You know they wouldn't ever admit it." He said softly pulling her into another hug, "I appreciate it and if I have to, I'll take you up on it; for them. But I would still have to pay you guys back. You know that right?"
He couldn't take it for himself, he wouldn't. He would rather his sisters have the education. He could make do in the world. . . .
"Hey how about we go for a walk while we talk?" He said feeling like he actually needed to move instead of sit on the ledge.

"Always," she confirmed, leaning against him briefly. Though the idea of such a future horrified her, she refused to let such events take place. Refused. If the future glimpsed was but only one of countless many... Again her fingers fidgeted with the brooch, and she sighed. Of all people, she was too aware of how fickle the future was.
"He... what?" Metis jerked back, sitting straight as she turned her head in his direction. "Oh... Vic..." She let out a breath, unsure of how to... respond to that. Or what was a proper response? It riled her up, the notion that he was kissing a Negaverse agent, but if the guy really did want to purify... "You need to talk to him about purifying. Vic, there's too much at risk in this war for us to be... too friendly with agents. I'm not faulting you for your attraction to someone, so please don't take it that way... I'm just... well. I'm worried. I don't want you getting hurt. I could come with you, if you want, to talk to him about things if you think that would help? We could look into options for how to go about purification. There are people we can go to for help."
She wanted to support her teammate. She wanted him to be safe, and if happiness lead to this man then... well, who was she to be a naysayer? But she couldn't deny the unease she felt at the back of her neck, the prickling that so long as this agent was on the other side of the... um, pond, to say, then things were strained at best.
Still, she was... relieved to revert to the other topic, and when Vic offered for them to continue on and walk a bit, Metis quickly got to her feet, brushing off her skirts and offering a hand. "I'm not above going a generous donation route if necessary to make sure all of you are happy and comfortable. As for paying us back..." Metis shrugged, and gave him another hug. "Be happy. Be sure you're settled in life, in work, in school... in whatever you seek, and then we can talk about paying off... well. Loans, I guess. But with nonexistent interest rates."
Metis gave him a quick, friendly, peck on the cheek and smiled as they began to head out on the patrol. It was light conversation from there, and for it... Metis was relieved. She'd messed up by not remaining in contact with the others. But she could still fix things. She knew where to start.
