Phoenix has succeeded in capturing the soul of a hippocampus while on vacation with his family in Greece. ▪ Name - Shoshana Argyris ▪ Alias - Sho ▪ Gender - Female ▪ DOB - September 29th, 2016 | Libra
Shoshana is, first and foremost, an exceptionally curious creature. While she's certainly learning and tries her best, she often forgets her manners and will immediately jump into bombarding new people with questions. Her concept of personal space tends to escape her, and may need gentle reminders to keep from becoming too overbearing.
Overall she is an incredibly kind Raevan, treating everyone she meets with respect. Her love of learning about anything and everything she can drives her to ask more and more questions, and she absorbs all of this as if it is another life source. No matter how trivial the information is it excites her, leaving her in a constant state of awe.
Not without her flaws, Shoshana can be extremely oblivious and forgetful of small things, even if she retains most information. For some reason she has a particularly difficult time remembering names, and instead calls most people by something that describes them. Her temper is also not to be tested. While it's difficult to set her off, once you do her actions can be completely unpredictable - and dangerous, both to others and to herself, owing to the nature of her powers.
_____✤▪ TRAITS ▪✤
▪ Ears - Shoshana's ears are more than just ears, they're actually small fins! She has full control over being able to move them as she pleases, and they will often twitch and move about in a way that expresses her current emotions. When excited they can become quite animated!
▪ Wings - Due to their small size and dainty structure, Shoshana's wings aren't very useful. In fact, they're quite comparable to her ears in terms of mobility. They will flutter rapidly when she is excited, but when it comes to getting her around they do her little good.
▪ Eyes - Almost hypnotic in appearance, Shoshana's eyes are quite the marvel to look at. Rather than black pupils, hers are a deep teal. Her irides are gold, with a darker ring around the pupil. The overall effect can at times be a bit overwhelming, given her intense gaze when interested in something.
▪ Accent - Shoshana speaks with an Israeli accent, probably owing to the origin of her essence. Additionally her voice is deep, and she generally speaks in low, pleasant tones.
▪ Skin - Shoshana's skin is curiously shimmery and golden in a number of places. Additionally, small blue scales adorn her cheeks.
_____✤▪ POWERS ▪✤
▪ Perpetual Material | Active - While unable to create sand from nothing, Shoshana is capable of generating more where there is something to start with. With even a single grain she can create an unlimited supply of sand to do with as she pleases. However, the less she has to work with the slower production will be at first – the rate grows exponentially dependent upon availability.
▪ Sand Manipulation | Active - Much like the storm she originates from, Shoshana can create shapes in the sand limited only to her imagination. Giant sand castles, golems and trees, you name it! With enough focus and energy she is even capable of allowing them to move on their own, though they have no intelligence and only act on her command. These moving sand figures are short-lived and require more energy than she cares to expend on a regular basis.
▪ Water Breathing | Active - Shoshana has the fortunate ability to transition to being able to breathe underwater. However, this is not an easy transition, and is in fact highly uncomfortable and at times slightly painful to do so. Once the transition is made she can breathe for as long as necessary underwater, but has to make the same change when she wishes to go back to breathing air. This is a conscious change rather than an instinctive one.
Note - Because her soul is aquatic and her essence is sand-based, her biological needs and powers are greatly conflicted. She requires constant hydration to be at her healthiest, but her sand-based powers suffer in strength initially as a result. If she continues on they will become stronger, but she will dehydrate at a much more rapid pace and risk damaging her health.
_____✤▪ STATS ▪✤
▪ Strength (24) - While she doesn't exercise her strength particularly often, given she has no need or interest, Shoshana's strength is fairly decent. Of course, the most she ever uses it for is carrying around Zoe and other small children!
▪ Endurance (25) - So long as she remains hydrated, Shoshana's endurance isn't too shabby. However, due to the advanced rate that she becomes dehydrated if she doesn't take care of herself, this can fade fast. As long as she remembers to drink plenty, she's fine!
▪ Intelligence (27) - Curiosity is one of Shoshana's hugest driving factors. Virtually anything brought to her attention is a curiosity and she must learn more about it. She retains the information quite well, hoarding knowledge about anything and everything. This especially applies to anything the people she cares about are interested in, and her own personal interest in the cultures and beliefs of different people and places.
▪ Creativity (30) - Her creativity is where she truly shines. Shoshana has a love for all things art. At the discovery of new forms of art, be they fine arts or performing, she will immediately dive into learning more and participating if she is capable. Her skill level matters not to her. She just wants to try! Her great loves are music from around the world and sand art.
▪ Friendliness (27) - Shoshana's belief is that everyone deserves kindness until they've done something severe enough to justify otherwise. She is exceptionally curious about and friendly to everyone she meets, but she will not put on an act if she doesn't like the individual.
▪ Charisma (20) - At times, Shoshana's eagerness to meet people and learn more about them can be a bit overwhelming. Combined with her strangely intense eyes, her presence when meeting new people can be a bit off-putting. However, it's easy to see she is quite pleasant to be around if you get past the first impression!
▪ Humour (22) - While she certainly has a sense of humor, Shoshana is much less vocal about it than most. She responds well to the humor of others, but she does little joking of her own outside of subtle, teasing jabs.
▪ Magic (28) - Her mostly sand-based magic is a huge influence on her hobbies. She loves to create using magic, and will often put on a show just to entertain others. Though it can strain her, she does her best to counter this by paying attention to her body's cues.
_____✤▪ FOOD SOURCES ▪✤
▪ Water - Hydration is absolutely crucial to Shoshana’s health and survival. If she does not remain hydrated, she will gradually become weaker, and eventually become very, very ill. Besides drinking, she can benefit from the effects of the water simply by touching it. Bathing and swimming are more than just for fun and hygiene; they keep her healthy! However, the more hydrated she is, the weaker her sand powers become.
▪ Disintegration - Virtually anything that provides some form of nutrition can be a source of food for Shoshana, though not in the usual way. With a touch she can suck the nutrients from food, leaving it to crumble into dried remains resembling sand. How much it feeds her is entirely dependent on the level of nutrients, and she has no preference given that it has no taste!

Standing just shy of six feet and weighing 160lbs, Phoenix takes pride in his appearance. He boasts his minimal body fat to his friends, and always dresses sharp – usually slacks and dress shoes with a button-up shirt. Even when he's being “lazy” he only downgrades the top to a muscle shirt. He keeps his natural, almost silvery white hair neatly combed back into a low ponytail that hangs just past his shoulder blades, and he has joyful golden eyes set into dark tan toned skin. His black facial hair he keeps neatly trimmed to keep up his respectable appearance while still having a delightful amount of scruff.
_____✤▪ PERSONALITY ▪✤
Phoenix is happy all the time; he's social and charismatic. If it weren't for his bad pickup lines and going completely over the top with sweetness, he'd have no problem finding a girl. He thinks he's smooth, but it's as if he learned all of his moves from a bad 80's film. Alas, his daughter and his restaurant are his life. Not to say he doesn't try anymore, but he puts considerably less effort into developing a romantic life. He's driven, always improving on his restaurant, and busting butt to make sure everything is always done right and fast. The sooner he gets home to see Zoe the better, but he's not the type to leave early just because he's the boss. And if he is late, the babysitter lives conveniently on their floor. He's very family oriented. Every Sunday night he and Zoe visit his parents and brother for a home cooked meal. On work days he still cooks most nights and watches movies with his daughter, and on days off they often go to the park or zoo. Alone time doesn't appeal to Phoenix at all. He's a bleeding heart when it comes to his daughter. When she's hurt or sick, no matter how tough she is about it, he'll cry and worry incessantly. He dislikes anything gruesome or gorey, hence his aversion to horror movies. He'd rather something funny or theatrical.
▪ Likes - Phsyical and emotional contact with others, hair product (and hair anything, really), playing games with his daughter, leafy greens, healthy eating, working out, 80's and early 90's music, cheesy movies, and small animals.
▪ Dislikes - When Zoe gets a booboo, holding grudges, being unable to immediately provide what Zoe wants, horror movies, fast food, flaky employees, and being unable to satisfy customers.

Shortly after his family immigrated to Gaia, Phoenix was born to the Argyris family. They used their life savings to renovate a vacant building into a traditional Greek restaurant, 'Ambrosia'. Their life was comfortable, but always busy, and both sons learned to help at Ambrosia from a young age. The obvious choice for who to take over the restaurant when their parents got too old was Katsaros, the eldest. However Kat pursued a career in architecture, leaving Ambrosia to Phoenix. He was grateful.
He met Adriana, a hostess at Ambrosia, when she was hired shortly after his promotion to manager. His full ownership of the restaurant came after the birth of their daughter, Zoe, but Adriana had as much intent to stay with the family as she did the restaurant. She was too young to devote herself to that lifestyle, and left before Zoe turned two. She has since been completely absent in both of their lives, and no one has had contact with her since she left.
Zoe was five, and smarter, than she should have been, when she started asking for a sibling. Phoenix was nearing thirty-two. Originally he bought Zoe a pitbull puppy, Dionysus (Dio for short -- Dino by Zoe, who honestly doesn't get the reference, who is Dio--), hoping that would satisfy her request. It didn't. Fortunately they live comfortably in an upscale apartment in Durem, close to the restaurant. He had an excellent source of income, business was booming, and he seemed to have a fair chance with adoption. It was Zoe who first heard of the Lab from a classmate. She made up her mind on the spot. In the winter of 2015, Phoenix's application was approved.

Zoe is an intuitive child, and is wildly mature beyond her years. Since she was quite small she has always been a serious girl, never fond of rough games or loud and messy children. Because of it she's always had a bit of a hard time in school. She has no friends to speak of, and this is starting to wear on her. She is a peculiar girl, which sometimes odd interests for a child her age. She's also quite blunt, and not easily put off by strangers. While she gives her dad a hard time, she is the proudest of him out of anyone, and she loves him fiercely. She takes after Phoenix in that she is quite picky about her hair, and she loves fish and reptiles, anything lacy or pink, and Star Trek.

Dio was Phoenix's first attempt at trying to satiate Zoe's need for company. While he was named for the Greek god, Phoenix has always called him Dio after one of his favorite bands, while Zoe calls him Dino. He doesn't care what you call him, just as long as you pay attention! Dio truly believes the world revolves around him, and he judges everyone who visits based on how much love they give him. He is an absurdly smart pooch, almost human in his behaviour at times, and will take attention in any form. Feel like dressing him up? Go for it! He'll look fabulous and love it.

The Argyris family currently live in a very large, upscale two bedroom apartment in Durem (pictures and floor plan pending). Upon entering, one finds themselves in a spacious living room, which Phoenix is proud to say he decorated himself. Behind it lies the dining area, and through a sliding glass door there is a patio complete with grill and seating arrangements. Beyond the living room is the kitchen, always being put to good use by Phoenix, and down the hall are the bedrooms, guest bathroom and laundry room. Zoe and Shoshana currently share a room, which they have decorated to appease both of their aesthetic tastes.

Before Andreas and Iliana settled in Gaia, they originally lived in Oia, Greece. They were the first in the family to leave Greece, and the rest of the very extended family still remains in Oia to this day. The lot of them currently reside in homes all located conveniently close to each other, making up one enormous, close family of very loud and boisterous Greeks!
It is a family tradition that Phoenix and the rest of his family currently living in Gaia make a summer trip to Oia to visit the rest of the family. It is not uncommon for individuals in the family to make additional trips when possible.

After Damien returned the gesture with a gift, the two began hanging out and became fast friends. For the first time in years Phoenix has begun to allow himself a social life thanks to Damien, and the friendship has done wonders for him. Zoe approves, even if he's as weird as her dad.
✤▪ AARON HOLMES ▪ alpha lyrae ▪ Business Associate While their current relationship is strictly business (Holmes Produce distributes to Ambrosia), Aaron and Phoenix's history goes quite a few years back. They attended school together, and in high school Phoenix was regularly the target of verbal abuse from Aaron and his friends. When their families first went into business with each other, Phoenix was not happy. But it's all water under the bridge now, and they are plenty civil!
