The Forty-Fourth Training Ground (第44演習場, Daiyonjūyon Enshūjō), also known as the Forest of Death (死の森, Shi no Mori), was the stage for the second part of the Konoha Chūnin Exams, proctored by Anko Mitarashi. Its primary function served as a testing ground for the survival and fighting skills of genin trying to become chūnin. It was a very dangerous place, filled with hordes of flora and fauna, often gigantic, poisonous — or even more likely, both — hence its name.

The user has to have been to the area before, and be able to sense the location with his own chakra before being able to transport him there. Jutsu is primarily meant for escape efforts in battle, traveling easier in respective village and certain stealth missions. ► Explosive Stone Body Replacement | C Rank This jutsu replaces the body with a large stone or even a boulder. There is a rather dangerous difference though, the boulder that replaces the stone-nin’s body is explosive and if struck explodes with the force of several explosive notes. If a boulder is nearby, one simply needs to make a single handsign for the effects. ► Earth Release: Earth-Land Deflection | C Rank A ninjutsu technique where the ninja digs into the ground beneath them and tears up a solid wall of dirt and rock. The shield of earth is held together by the ninja's chakra and is meant to take the driving force of a physical attack. ► Earth Release: Speed Pillars | C Rank The user leaps as he performs the needed handseals. Instantly pillars of rock pop out of the ground and rise to his feet. One after the other, a pillar pushes the user's feet to move quickly between the previous one fading and the next one in formation. The pillars cannot reach too high (not higher than an average tree for example). ► Earth Release: Earth Cage Technique | B Rank This technique is primarily used as a way of capturing or binding multiple targets all at once. The user sends a large amount of chakra into his palms, and then proceeds to strike the ground. Using earth mastery, the user splits the ground between themselves and the target. It is then at that point when the earth which was just moved, then reforms, into a cage above the newly created hole, resembling a pair of jaws. It ends up similar to a dome trapping the targets inside. ► Earth Release: Tearing Earth Turning Palm | B Rank This technique causes the ground surrounding the enemy to spiral inwards on itself, burying them alive or crushing them. This technique is much more damaging if used in rocky mountainous areas, or inside a cave. Futon: Wind Release ► Great Vacuum Cannon | D Rank The user shoots small, powerful and near-invisible blasts of wind from their mouth. ► Gale Surge | D Rank A defensive jutsu at best. The user distills the air around him or her with his or her chakra and at the exact moment of attack releases a large burst of air. The blast of wind goes out three feet and knocks a victim back at least five feet and can stop projectiles. It is a defensive move that is usually used when the user is caught off guard. The wind can only be released in one direction however. ► Wind Torpedo | C Rank The user gathers a large amount of wind into his lungs and expels it in a single blow, similar to the projectile deflection blast. This version however is significantly more devastating as the wind forms a torpedo that is near invisible that launches towards the opponent. Upon contact it explodes with the force of two exploding tags. ► Wind Release: Rasengan | A Rank A small compact ball of Fuuton chakra, in the form of a small spinning ball, with strips of Fuuton dragging at its sides. About half the size of a normal Rasengan, lacki ng in the original power, it makes up for it with it's exceptional advance, when landing the Fuuton: Rasengan will turn into a twister of pure wind and hurdle the opponent back, easily tearing down to the muscle. This, is of course less damage then an actual Rasengan, but powerful in it's own way. Advanced Nature - Koton: Steel Release ► Steel Release: Steel Piston Technique | Rank D The user coats a single limb such as the arm or leg in metal and forms an attachment piston onto the body part. The piston is only six inches in length and equally as thick as their appendage. When the user strikes with the limb, the piston engages and slams the user's fist forward for a second more brutal strike and sends the foe flying. ► Steel Release: Steel Shell | Rank C The user focuses their Kouton chakra all over their body and turns their skin into steel, covering their full body. This form adds extra defense and offensive capabilities, being even more sturdy depending on the skill level of the individual using it. Their body's skin becomes a dark silver tone and covers every inch of their body. ► Steel Release: Steel Shield | Rank C The user, after he/she is done with the handseals, outstretches his/her hands in front of him/her and grows a circular shield from his/her hands. The shield can have up to 2.5 meters in diameter and is able to hold against most ninjutsu with High C-Rank. And weaker of course.
Taijutsu:
Iron Fist Technique ► The 12 Bridges: Iron Blows | C Rank The user utilizes the training style of the Iron Fist Technique, running through the stances and motions to attack their opponent. Causes a great amount of physical damage. ► Crane Hand Rising Strike | D Rank The user drops into a low stance in front of their enemy, their legs spread but in a strong, rooted position. They hold one arm down across their mid section protecting against attack while the other comes up quickly to strike the opponent under their chin with the heel of their palm. Causes damage to jaw and neck. This attack can break the opponent's jaw if it connects. ► Lunging Tiger Claw | D Rank The user quickly lunges upon the opponent, one hand is used to wrench the arm/wrist of the opponent containing a weapon or preforming a hand seal brutally downward, causing damage to the arm and interrupting the attack/jutsu. The other hand encloses the opponent's face with crushing force, all the while falling upon the opponent in an attempt to bring them to the ground. ► Snake Needle Strike | B Rank The user quickly strikes an opponent's abdominal pressure point with the pinky, ring, and middle fingers. This causes the opponent to violently, instantly vomit. Causes internal organ damage and bleeding. ► Dragon Blow | B Rank The user, while directly in front of or above the opponent, quickly cups their hands together and slams the opponent on top of the skull. This technique, if it connects, instantly knocks an opponent out. ► Leopard Strike | A Rank The user catches or avoids an opponents attack, and unleashes a ferocious quick strike to the heart. This attack causes near fatal injury if it connects. ► Five Animal Fist | S Rank The user hits the opponent with a palm strike to the forehead (Crane), stunning them momentarily, long enough to grab the opponent's arm in a death grip and unleashes a series of strong blows to the chest (Leopard, Snake), one to the face (Tiger), and fishes off with a blow to the back of the head (Dragon), sending them crashing into the ground. This technique causes immense physical and internal damage, shattering bones on contact. Gentle Fist Technique ► Gentle Fist: Palm Bottom | D Rank This attack consists of a quick, precise thrust of the users' palm to an opponent's body. Like other Gentle Fist techniques, it sends chakra into the target to cause internal damage which will temporarily paralyze an opponent. ► Eight Trigrams: Vacuum Palm | D Rank This technique is similar in practice to Eight Trigrams Palms Revolving Heaven, but has a specific target rather than a general area. To perform it, the user precisely pinpoints the enemy's vital points with the Byakugan and releases a high-speed palm thrust. A "vacuum shell" compressed using the Gentle Fist is formed to attack the opponent's vitals from a distance, blowing them off their feet with tremendous force before they even notice they were hit. ► Eight Trigrams 32 Palms | C Rank The Eight Trigrams Thirty-Two Palms technique is a maneuver of the Gentle Fist fighting style. It is essentially a halved version of the Eight Trigrams Sixty-Four Palms, but seems to be no less effective. This technique is used to close off the flow of chakra through thirty-two chakra points of an opponent's Chakra Pathway System. This eliminates their ability to use chakra for quite some time and makes it difficult for them to move. ► Gentle Step Twin Lion Fists | B Rank The user forms two large lion-shaped shrouds of chakra around their hands, then attacks the opponent with them. Though its full power was not shown in the manga, in the anime, it was shown that this technique has enough power to destroy Pain's chakra rods, as well as momentarily stunning the target after the attack lands. ► Eight Trigrams: Palm Rotation | B Rank A secret taijutsu that is orally handed down only within the main house of the Hyūga, this technique utilizes the chakra control gained through Gentle Fist training to release a huge amount of chakra from all the chakra points on the user's body. It is also a defensive maneuver to compensate for the Byakugan's blind spot as the released chakra blocks any possible attack on the user. After releasing chakra from every tenketsu in their body, the user then spins rapidly to parry the attack, both creating a rotating shield of chakra around themselves and tossing away any nearby attackers. The user can also actively control the size and power of the sphere to suit the situation. This technique is only effective when rotating, since the chakra itself is not enough to stop a physical attack thus if they cannot spin, the user becomes vulnerable. ► Gentle Fist Art One Blow Body | Rank B Using their ability to expel chakra from every chakra point on their body, a member of the Hyūga clan can hit their opponent with a blast of chakra that will send them flying away from the user.
Special Technique: ► Iron Fist: Eight Trigrams One Inch Punch An unassuming, deceptively simple looking move that combines the training of the Iron Fist Technique and the attack on the chakra network of the Gentle Fist Technique. It causes devastating physical and internal damage, temporarily shutting down the entire flow of chakra with a blow to the core. (lasts for 5 opponent's posts)

Voice Actor: Rueben Langdon - Dante (Devil May Cry) Dante decided on the forty fourth training ground. Memories of his Chunin exams surfaced. It was a serious test. The entrance was locked, with numerous seals warding the entrance. It was deemed too dangerous and it's use reserved strictly for the exams. That of course wasn't going to stop Dante. As he had no sealing jutsu knowledge to speak of, he evaluated the ward's reach. it covered the entire entrance, but only the surface. He smirked.
"Earth Release: Instantaneous Body Jutsu." Dante did the necessary seal and burrowed underground like a mole, ending up on the other side of the barrier. He surfaced about twenty feet into the forest, only to be greeted by an enormous centipede. It was not to happy to see him. "Well, aren't you the ugly one?" Dante said, actively taunting the creature. The giant insect charged at him. Dante decided to take this opportunity to train his earth jutsu, and possibly learn some new techniques. He summoned the strength of his earth nature chakra, and burrowed underground once more, dodging the attack of the centipede. He attempted to sense the centipede and attack it from below. He shot out of the ground, but was a hair off, missing the insect.
The centipede was enraged now. It wrapped its body around a small tree and ripped it from the ground, chucking it at Dante. He used his earth chakra again to burrow underground. The tree crashed into the ground, snapping in two. He focused, sensing the centipede's movements above the earth. He found it this time. He rocketed out of the ground, slamming his fist into the centipede's abdomen. The psyical force crushed it's innards. It screamed in pain, whipping it's tail at Dante. "Earth Release: Earth Deflection Jutsu!" Dante channeled the necessary chakra into his hand and tore a wall of earth up to block the centipede's attack, held together by his earth natured chakra. It's tail slammed into the wall, crushing it as the chakra left it. Dante was gone again, underneath the ground. He came up underneath the centipede again, this time his aim was to drag the beast underground. He wrapped his arms around it's tail in a crushing grip, and pulled it down under up to it's head. He surfaced, and was satisfied as he watched it wriggle, trying to break free.
Dante decided to play with the creature. He taunted it by getting close enough for it to try to eat him, and would hop out of the way as it's jaws would close. He started to box with it, lightly punching it here and there. He didn't get a kick out of torturing a creature, but for some reason he felt it necessary to blow off some steam, rather than let it build up. The beast screeched and hollered, desperately trying to get free. He instantly felt pity for the creature. He knew how it felt to be powerless. He loosened the earth around the centipede, letting it free. He and the creature stared each other down. The centipede thought about the situation, and decided to scurry away. Smart decision. Dante was satisfied, and perfected a new ability in the process.

Voice of: Rueben Langdon - Dante (Devil May Cry) After the centipede left, Dante still didn't feel alone. He could feel something watching him from the shadows. At that moment, a giant snake lashed out with blinding speed. It's mouth was open wide, an attempt to swallow him whole. The snake's jaws slammed shut around Dante, who instantly puffed into a cloud. All the snake got was a mouth full of rock. Dante had used the substitution jutsu, and appeared directly above the snake. "Raaasssengan!" With Dante's above average chakra control, he didn't require any aid in forming the spiraling sphere of wind chakra. He rocketed toward the snake and made contact with it's head, the impact slamming the snake into the ground.
The technique drilled down to the meat of the snake, causing it to roar in pain. He landed in front of the snake's face, waiting for it to rise. It groggily raised it's head, and Dante struck. He quickly dropped down into a low stance, and slammed the palm of his right hand into the snake's jaw with crushing iron force. The snake's head jerked back, and it fell to the ground, defeated. It lay limp, unable to withstand the physical damage it sustained. Dante scoffed at the snake's folly attempt. He walked deeper into the forest, until he reached the shrine at the center. It was a suitable place as any to rest. Dante sighed as he entered the building, thinking it was time to focus on chakra control. As he was alone now, he could focus and meditate. He concentrated, aiming to store chakra within himself. A reserve if you will, to be accessed if he would ever completely exhaust his limits. He hated sitting still, but it was beneficial and necessary.

It was highly unlikely anyone would even think to look for him here.

He decided to train again, this doing nothing was killing him. He did a handseal, and summoned a clone of himself. He decided to practice some hand to hand combat while his chakra reserves increased.

Voice of: Rueben Langdon - Dante (Devil May Cry) He settled into his Iron Fist stance, and made his clone do the same. He practiced simple blows, keeping a strong core and solid movements. He went through the twelve iron bridges, landing blows solid as iron. He didn't let his clone disperse however, constantly feeding it chakra to keep solid form.

Voice of: Rueben Langdon - Dante (Devil May Cry) Dante continued to train with his clone. If it wasn't for his high endurance, he'd probably be exhausted by now. He was getting somewhat bored however. His clone wasn't anywhere near the challenge of an actual opponent.

Mayr had woken up the next morning in search for more training. In order to step forward as a more stronger genin. Mayr was sprinting out into the open training field. Mayr had front flipped once before landing cooly. Mayr then raised his head and awaited what his next actions would be. Mayr decided he would be training to expand his chakra even more. Once again today was the perfect day for that. He sat down perfectly still and began meditating. In order to once more increase his chakra capacity. Mayr was feeling good today. He was feeling strong today.

Since it was September already. Mayr could feel the change in weather. The climate was a lot more cool and calm. The heat was mostly gone for the most part. Since summer time was over. Mayr had been sitting on the ground very still. His eyes were closed. The Uchiha fan crest on the back of his shirt. Was waving proudly among the breeze that pushed and pulled his clothing attire, and equipment's. Mayr was once again increasing his chakra. He had experience using up a lot of chakra. This was because he had the legendary Sharingan! If he was going to truly master the Sharingan. He needed big enough chakra to maintain it. For a longer time. Mayr sat still meditating and increasing chakra.

Yes it was true. Most of this increasing his chakra was for the Sharingan. The Sharingan used up a lot of chakra when he was in combat. That's why he was doing this so he could use it longer. His Sharingan was a force to reckon with. Especially how Mayr used it since he was able. To defeat a Jounin as a genin. He hasn't seen that Jounin anymore. The Jounin was a Hyuuga. Mayr had been given a new Jounin that was more friendly. A lot more sensible and fun. Also, Hinote-sensei made learning so exciting. Mayr continued to sit still meditating. It was working out for him since his Chakra was increasing.

Mayr was happy that he could get training in like this. This was what separated him from other genin in the village. Mayr was a brilliant hard-worker. Who knew exactly how much potential he possessed. An Uchiha who was only learning and becoming stronger each and every day. Mayr was proud of his success of the progress he was making. Mayr was becoming really strong in many ways. Mayr had to work on his intelligence he thought. Or was it his strength that he was going to work on next.
