About Him:

Triton was one of the first Neko Koneko to emerge from the portal in one of the classrooms. He came without a name, and only being able to call me 'mommy'.

His name is Triton, because of someone else. Triton is the real name of someone I knew. So I named him Triton.

Hello,

My name is Triton, I know Mommy normally writes in here, but she said I have to write a bit in here too. Though I'm not with Mommy right now, I'm with this man named Tipsers. You see, he came to the inn one night and asked for his coat to be washed. I did it all by myself.

Well...

Lily helped me and so did Mommy. For cleaning it, he gave me this cool red jewel necklace with a dragon wrapped around it. I wish I could draw it, but oh well, just imagine it.

He's here in the library right now researching something, so I decided now would be a good time to write an entry. So here it is.

The Gift

I visited LokiRose in her shop again, she had a special where there were these mysterious gifts being sold. What was in it is of course a mystery. The truth is none of the children have a gift yet, so I thought to give one to Triton. I hope that in the future that each and everyone one of them has a planet, it would be nice.

He seemed delighted to get the gift and is keeping a close eye on it until it opens. I'm kind of curious myself into what it could be. Triton keeps it in his pocket since there isn't much gravity keeping it up at the moment. He likes gifts I think.

Today I met a very interesting person, well two interesting pesons, but the first has been around the inn for several days. His name is Tispers and he's a researcher, well he's trying to get his home back. He knows all kinds of neat spells and can see spirits and stuffs like that. I want to go out and see the world like he does and go on all kinds of adventures.

But that's not the only thing I want.

I met a centuar today, I've never seen one until now. Where she comes from magic is banned and only certain people are allowed to use it. Because of that she depends on her strength and her mind alone. She's very strong I think, and very brave.

I've been thinking.

I want to travel the world like Tispers does, and go on adventures to discover new places.
Places like he has been where spirits can become weapons and kingdoms long forgotten still exist.
But also... I want to be strong like the centuar. I want to learn how to fight with weapons and my own strength alone. No magic, no potions, nothing but my personal strength.

This is what I want to do.

A lot has happened since I last wrote in here. Let's see... what first, well I got mom to send me to school. I know it sounds weird and all but I want to be the strongest I can be. So she sent me to Snowy Pines School of War. There I met Were-Ah, and she's nice, I think she'd make a really good partner in an adventure or something like that.

Then there is Andrew, he's older than us and a senior I think. He's tough, completey beat both me and Were, though I didn't like that he threw me by my tail. But this school is serious though, Mommy is kind of worried and wants to make me go to another school, but I think if I can tough this one out. I can do anything.

Kit, the centuar suggests that I wrap my tail around my waist, I think I'm gonna train myself to do that from now on. She gives out a lot of great advice and stuff like that. So I hope I do well.


In another random note, my present opened today! It's a bush with swords and stuff like that. How weird is that? It's almost like I'm meant to use weapons in the future.

I made a lot of new friends over the past few days... and some uhm... well, I also met some strange people. First there is Were-Ah from school, I already told you about her. She's kind of a spazz at times, but she's really nice and everything. I think we'll be fighting partners in the future which is good.

Then there is Faust, Faust scares me. He kept looking at me like I was dinner or something and was circling me like he was going to eat me alive! I remember now of Mommy nicknaming him prince or something like that because of the way he looked. I don't care though, he is freaky and he licked me on the cheek. It was gross and freaky.

Finally there is Micheal, Roselite-san's Neko or son. I might have talked about her, she has a daughter by the name of Sasame who is the same type as Cindy my elder sister. He's cool, we played Candyland for a while and he's staying over at the inn for a sleepover which is even cooler. I don't know what guys do for a sleepover, but I'm sure we can think of something.

Mommy keeps getting sadder and sadder now.... First Treyz disappears, and then.... she remembers Treyz's Daddy.... and now Talin left, because he thinks he'll cause more pain to Mommy. Though, Mommy agreed that he should go, that he needed to go away.

I remember Wish once telling me, her views of what Mommy needed was wrong when she was a teen. Mommy doesn't need a guy to look after her, she needs family. So I thought of this.

Now that big brother went away, that leaves me as oldest son, but not just me, but it leaves Cindy and Trisha (along with Yue and Yukito) alone with Mommy as well. Mommy has always looked after all of us no matter what, so I'm going to get strong, I'm still going to travel, but I'm going to be her strength too.

Not just me but all of us will be, her family, her kids. I remember Mom once telling that great big troll that when she grows old we need to take care of her, but I think.... we take care of her once we grow up! After all, we're family right?

What's In a Name?

Triton had heard rumours among the older residents of the household (mainly Wish and Lily) that Kara had given him his name for a specific reason. However, when his guardian mother had lost her own memory that information was lost as well. Well, as lost as it could be with the older residents still retaining their own memories, but they had been tight lipped about it. Even Miyuki, who, on the rare occasion dropped by the inn would not tell him. Telling him that it was for him to discover when he became older. It would be good to note by this time that as a Neko Koneko, Triton aged quite quickly. Though he had yet to undergo his growth as the family called it, he was growing up in his mind. Enough to know that some things should be left alone.

However things change, and it changed with the disappearace of Treyz. Treyz was Triton's elder human brother, the only blood child of his mother. He was told by his mother that Treyz had been sent to live with his father. Triton did not know much, he never had a father, it had been only him and his mother. He had forgotten that blood children needed both a mother and a father.

The one day, when Triton was looking for his mother, he stumbled upon, quite accidently a box she was unpacking. Inside of the box was an old photograph of his mother and a man. He was a tall map with green eyes, one eye hidden under a flop of long brown bangs. The two were similing, or rather, his mother was smiling, the man was holding her and only give the barest hints of a smile down at her. He looks up suddenly, and goes over towards the hand mirror sitting on a shelf. Triton looks at himself carefully.

In the past he had always thought it was neat, that though he was a Neko, he had brown hair and green eyes like his mother. Looking at himself now though, he realized that if he cut off his hair, grew out his bangs, he would look like a great deal like the man in the picture.

"Triton?"

Triton turns and sees his mother standing at the door. She looks surprised to see him there, her eyes travel to the picture he was holding.

"Was his name Triton?"

She looks sad for a moment, as she makes her way over to him. Kneeling beside him, taking the picture of his hands. She cradles it as if it were a child.

"No, but his name is very close to yours. There were rumours it might have been his true name."

Triton could not understand what she meant by true name, but he did understand that his name was something special.

"So I was named after him?"
"In a way... yes you were."
"Why?"
"......... Because at the time, I could not let go."
"Do you love him?"

She pauses and sits down for a moment, tucking her legs under her. She puts her arm around him and lays her head on his shoulder.

"Triton, it was a very long time ago. I did at one point, but... not anymore."
"Then why did you name me after him?"
She laughs a bit, "You reminded me of him, he use to tame lions, and seeing as you were a kitty, I thought. He looks like a Triton, so that's what I'll name him."
"Am I anything like him?"
"Only in strength, but everything else is just you and only you."

Triton didn't know really what to make of that statement. He was and he wasn't the man in that picture. Though it was kind of neat in a way, however strange it might be. Maybe when he got older he would understand better.... like Miyuki said.
