While he spent time in Paris' home after his purification, he had not spent much time around her. They ate, but being in a place that wasn't his with people he didn't know only made him feel more on guard and tense. The recent move to their new home had helped, and while he was glad Wyatt had helped with all the paperwork and got them the new house, that didn't resolve the other matter.

That he was a knight and he had no idea who the person was that he supposedly swore some allegiance too.

Upon a request, he found himself walking with the senshi, finding it unnatural that any knight would have to work or swore any affiliation to a senshi, and looked about for any signals that he might find worth going after.

"I only met you once as Wolframite, right?" He asked after a long silence.

Ganymede felt awkward.

She tried to be cheerful. She was relieved that Ladon was no longer in the Negaverse's clutches and thankful that they'd managed to free him from Chaos without him coming to harm, but it saddened her that he could not remember her, that he was no longer Ladon. She felt as if she'd lost her best friend in the process of saving him, and that made her feel conflicted. And guilty. She shouldn't have any doubts about what she and Camelot had done for him and Billy—Wyatt, she had to remind herself—but there was a selfish part of her that wished things hadn't changed.

There were things that felt familiar about Torin, things that reminded her of the friend she used to know, but he was not entirely the same. She thought there was more of Wolframite left than Ladon. But then that made sense, she supposed. Those were the memories he'd kept.

“I was there when you staged that attack against the Dark Mirror Court,” she said, walking at an easy pace beside Gevaudan. She wore her Eternal garb so as not to draw too much attention to themselves with the massive power of her Princess form. “There might have been a time before that. Maybe it was Callisto's awakening? I went Super that same day.”

She tried for a smile, but the next subject was painful, and not one she'd completely come to terms with yet.

“And then there was New Years,” she concluded. “But I knew about you a long time before that. What those awful Blood Moon senshi did to you. Even though I only had an idea of what you were like before I actually met you, I still couldn't hate you the way I hate other officers. You had a reason for why you hated the Senshi beyond that stupid Moon Queen crap I always hear about.”

Gevaudan was less crazed than Wolframite, but far less nervous, timid, and polite as Ladon had been. When he became a officer, they were much of the same, but progressively he had given his life to the side of Chaos, dedicating much of his time and the tail end of his teenage years to the cause to the point Wolframite became his own person. Wolframite had lived through much more than Ladon had, and now, as Gevaudan, Wolframite was all he knew.

It made wearing anything other than a uniform uncomfortable and stressful.

"I have many reasons to hate senshi. I have many reasons more to hate the Dark Moon Court. It wasn't just the torture. I saw people dear to me, people who fought for me, that I looked up to, slowly die in the worst way long after we were rescued. Just…..gone from here." Uranophane. Tanzanite.

"I don't need the pity. I'm upset that our side had dignity that was taken advantage of and the senshi still felt justified in saying they were the side of Good to tolerate those actions even before the Dark Moon Court left them."

"I never knew your name. I don't talk to senshi. After that, it was just more effective to kill on sight. There is something………to it." He said, tone relaxed and calm. There was no hatred or guilt, no skipped beat, when talking about death by his own hands.

He had done it so often. Done it from the very start of receiving his uniform. It had been the way back then.

"I've been here….in this war…a long time." He looked to her. "My uniform now, your emblem – it changes nothing."

“It changes the side you're on,” Ganymede said. “It's changes who your enemy is.”

Maybe it was naïve of her to say that. She couldn't pretend not to be. At the end of the day she was just a stupid girl pretending to be a hero. It was how she'd always viewed herself. Ignorant. Weak. Selfish. She didn't think any of that had changed since her awakening, she'd simply grown better at hiding it. She was confident, now, in her abilities, but confidence didn't change who she was at her core.

“I've been doing this a long time, too, you know,” she said. She didn't look at him. She felt ashamed and she didn't know why—except that Ladon had always been able to make her feel that way. “Maybe you've been doing this longer. That eyepatch you wear, you wore one as Ladon when I first met you. I never knew why. I'm assuming it's because of this. The war.”

She felt guilty for not knowing. In retrospect it all made sense. Of course she'd been shocked to discover that Ladon was Wolframite, but after the shock wore off she could only think that she should have known, that the truth had been staring her in the face all along, she'd just been too stupid to see it.

Always, at the back of her mind, she'd wondered about Ladon and the war, just as she wondered about everyone she met. Who was involved? Who wasn't? Sometimes there were clues, but most of the time it was a lot of blind groping in the dark.

“But the one thing I've learned above anything else is that there's good and evil on both sides,” Ganymede continued. “Castor has done some awful things. And Ares. She was in charge of the Blood Moon before the Dark Mirror Court came around. I blame her and her people for the reputation we have. Most of us don't condone what they did.

“With the Negaverse... some of them don't live up to their evil reputation, and I think a lot of them really believe they're doing the right thing. But then you have people like Laurelite, and Apatite. Bischofite, though I haven't seen him around in a long time. Buddingtonite always liked to go after kids. That was pretty ******** up. And... the blonde General with the cane. I don't know her name, but she tortured Val. Probably some of the others too. I think I got lucky when it came to her.

“Metallia...” she added, and trailed off a moment. She was rambling; she paused to collect her thoughts. “I don't know who are what Metallia is, but she's behind everything, isn't she?”

He stared back at her. "No. You're wrong. It doesn't change my enemy at all. Do you think I'm going to go after the Negaverse now? Go after those I called my comrades? I don't hate them. I hate the ones behind them. The ones that went against our core mission to protect our planet." He looked on ahead. "And then there is the Dark Moon Court…."

He was now free to go after them without any repercussions.

Gevaudan recounted her own history in the war, and pointed out they met when he wore he eyepatch. That made his quickly look back at her, surprised, hand raising as if to touch his face eye, but stopping himself and keeping his hands firmly down at either side. If she met him when he had the eyepatch, it must have been before he got his fake eye to wear. That was a very long time ago, which means they must have been friends for that long? Since he had no memory of it, it always felt shorter.

He gritted his teeth at hearing Castor's name, having heard from Europa that he was still alive. "Castor was the one who took my eye." He left out that he was going after a princess to the one who held his mark right by his side.

Paris' question had him looking onward as they walked. "It was different back then, but now it's that thing behind it. We don't see it. It talks to us. I only got to meet it once….when I was dragged through the Field of Traitors when I argued against my superiors." When he went against Tanzanite's wishes. She was so frail there….so weak….so broken down…

His hands flexed open and closed into fists over and over. "I never saw it. It was dark….I honestly don't know if there is anything to see. But it's ……power. Just overwhelming like trying to breath while under stones and black water. Nothing like a starseed just….everything - and it's terrifying."

"We had better leaders before. Now…..now it's just a mess…."

He then stopped in his tracked and flushed in color as he caught himself. "I mean…not we. I mean before. They …." He stopped. "they…had better leaders." He had to stop saying We.

He moved forward again, not looking at her. "What about your side? Do the princesses and princes run the groups?"
