"Amonee, it's me!" A chipper voice called out before Nucleo wandered into the jadeblood's home. They had some time before their show was on and he'd arrived early to get settled and comfortable.
"I brought snacks." Eyes sprinkled with mischief met Amonee's. Nucleo knew his friend was more than stocked with his own supplies but he'd wanted to do this anyway. The greenblood wouldn't claim to have better taste than his cultured friend but he certainly spent a lot more money on food! The painter focused his budget on other things.
"Show me the kitchen and give me a tour!" Holding up the slightly heavy bags he'd brought, Nucleo and Goatmom entered the humble home and peeked around. Would there be murals everywhere? What kinds of decorations would an artist have around his home?
Yamashii Short and slow start but I didn't want to do the popcorn right away in the first post!

"Cleo! Oh my Gog, Uni, he's here already!" There was a frantic sudden surge of noise from one of the inner rooms as Amonee quickly combed his hair. He'd meant to clean the place up a while ago but had taken a nap that had gone longer than he'd intended. Ohhh no, it was going to look so cluttered to the business troll who kept everything neat and tidy back at his own place! One, two, three twists, repeat, and his buns were in place.
As the jadeblood readied himself, Nucleo came into a living room of wood and stone with a soft black couch with a green blanket draped over it and a bright orange and red rock wall painted behind it. The wall was painted with abstract triangles streaking out from a central point, meant as a depiction of the sunrise. A decent looking television was the main point of interest in the room with a pair of frames hanging on both sides of it. One looked to hold a canvas with a lotus floating on water in it while the other was a glowing candle held by a pair of white hands.
"I'm so sorry, I'm here now." Amonee's head poked out from behind a hallway corner and he brought with him an armful of pillows and an armful of blankets. The mountain had felt colder lately and while he trusted his electric heater, it only made the air significantly warmer, not the stone. Someday he would buy a nice rug but he needed to save up the beetles for it first.
"The kitchen's over here. Are you hungry already?" The barista had asked specifically to see it first and Amonee laughed. It seemed like a lot of Nucleo's life centered around food with his garden, his shop and his trips to the markets. The painter didn't look down on this simple way of life but it was kind of cute. The clone troll followed him into the kitchen and Amonee motioned around it with a flourish as if to present it.
It was full of bowls of various fruits and colored glass balls that reflected light in beautiful jewel shades. Nothing here was incredibly valuable but they looked pretty and there were two canvases shoved into a corner making it clear that these items were still life models. A deconstructed wind chime lay in pieces on the table and Amonee flushed.
"Just ignore the mess! I was trying to make a hair ornament out of it." In the process Amonee had learned that he was not great at jewelry making.
"So what's that you've got in the bags?"Doutei The hive is full of strange delicate looking art stuff and painting supplies. Feel free to make up weird stuff for Nucleo to see/knock over/inquire about if you like. Otherwise, it is also full of soft things that are nice to lounge on! The wooden walls don't have any paint on them but the stone ones do. Likewise, the stone ones don't have anything hung on them but the wooden ones do.

"Just wanted to set these down!" Nucleo laughed as Amonee asked if he was hungry. Truthfully he was a little. He'd purposefully had a light meal earlier so they could snack on all the goodies he'd brought! The greenblood wanted to impress his new friend with tasty treats and such so they might develop a habit of watching movies and shows together. He felt like he was making plenty of friends but so far only Amonee had shown an interest in the screen with him.
"I didn't know you made jewelry." Glancing at the scraps of metal, Nucleo wondered about the process. The current product didn't look very good but his friend would pull it off with no problem, he was sure. Maybe it was some kind of avant garde thing.
"Check it out! I got chocolate covered dried fruit!" Placing a container he'd specially purchased during his last visit to NHC, the greenblood beamed with pride at his thoughtfulness. Amonee seemed like the type of troll who liked sweet things- you are what you eat after all, right?
"Oh! And popcorn! They were out of bags though so I had to get this kind instead." He'd never tried popping it outside of a microwave before but how hard could it be?
"The show's in ten minutes, should we start popping it now? Do you have a pan?"

"I... do." Amonee looked a bit nervous as Nucleo commented on his poorly shattered wind chime. Maybe if he just played it off like it was supposed to look like that, the other greenblood would find it impressive. He didn't want the other kid to realize although he was an artist, he wasn't good at all crafty things. At least not yet!
He picked up one of the bags with chocolate fruit in them and peeled one open carefully. The idea was very interesting to him and he popped a piece in his mouth as Nucleo talked. Something about popcorn and pans?
"I've never done it that way before!" He briefly wondered if the little kernels could still be microwaved on their own but decided against it for now. This would be a new adventure with his friend. Rummaging through the kitchen, Amonee produced a shiny silver pan and set it on a burner. Flipping the switch on, he looked to Nucleo.
"Let's see what it says on the bag. Add coconut oil." Okay, check. Done. "Now we wait for it to heat up!" Once it was hot, they'd be able to put in the kernels and enjoy a tasty and fluffy treat. Maybe he could even convince Nucleo to try it with something sweet drizzled over it? The barista experimented with his coffee everyday, surely he'd be alright messing around with popcorn.
"So who's your favorite princess?" It would take at least three minutes for his stove top to get suitably warm so he decided to ask his friend about the show they were going to watch. Princess Vampires was a series about love, betrayal, ferocity and glamour which made it perfect to watch with anyone in Amonee's opinion. There was something for everyone! Personally, he liked the dainty Ceptua the best.Doutei I decided I didn't want them to completely ******** up from the get go so I made up the instructions thing. Also you can say the pan warmed up enough to start by your post, just didn't want to godmod through it all in my post.

"How do we know when it's hot enough?" Nucleo pondered as they forgot an important step of the process. Instead of leaving three or so kernels in with the oil, they simply chatted and waited without realizing to set up an indication when the pan was ready.
"Hm, I haven't seen all the episodes but I guess... Zaofel!" Princess Vampire wasn't exactly Nucleo's favorite show on tv but he'd caught an episode now and then when there was nothing good on. He wasn't surprised Amonee liked it though, it was right up the boy's alley. Lots of pretty clothes and fancy hairdos, even Nucleo could appreciate how much magic the hair stylists had done on that show. It made him wonder if Elidae was good at those complex kinds of things. Her paper crafts had been pretty neat and probably intricate!
"So I like the powered one, sue me." The green blood stuck his tongue out when he saw Amonee's eyeroll of a reaction. He knew he was just teasing. Still, it was nice to see a little representation in the media! Sure it was a fictional show about vampires and the actress probably didn't have a power in reality but he liked the fact that she wasn't just a psychic. There were so many other valuable abilities out there!
"Oh, have you seen 'Bluejay' yet? I went last week and it was phenomenal! It's bound to get a Troscar this year." Nucleo gushed, recalling one of the hottest new movies out in the theaters. The tragic tale of a winged mutant with clipped wings had been heartbreaking but powerful, especially with the moving ending. He was sure it would make Amonee cry if he hadn't seen it already! It certainly had gotten him to tear up when he'd watched it!
"Oops, think it'd ready now? Here-" He'd raved on and on before realizing they'd forgotten about the pot! Nucleo scrambled to open the package of kernels and pour them into the pot when they spilled out faster than he'd meant! Panicked, the boy focused on trying to close the popcorn bag that he failed to remove the pan from heat.
And to put the lid back on.

"Oh my gosh, I did see it! I cried the whole time." Amonee had left the theater sniffling and somewhat unsightly but it had been an amazing movie. He'd wondered if powers were a double edged sword at that time since they had unusual weaknesses along with their usefulness but had shrugged the thought off for another time. Nucleo had a power and he seemed just fine! Amonee attributed the forgetfulness to the greenblood's personality without realizing it was a problem thanks to his ability.
"I hope it gets a Troscar. You know, we should watch them together! Maybe a party?" It was always more fun to watch things together with other trolls. Amonee found life to be sweeter in the company of others in general though, thanks to his clingy anxiety. The barista opened the bag of kernels and poured them into the pot as they chatted and the jadeblood didn't bat an eye until-
popPOPpopPOPPOPPOPPOPPOPPOPPOPPOPPOPPOPPOPPOP
"Aieeeeee- Why's it- STOP!" An eruption of kernels popped as more poured in and the kitchen was soon full of fluffy flying pieces pelting the two trolls. Nucleo had the foresight to stop pouring more of the darn things in but not to separate the pan from the heat. The explosion continued as Amonee reached for the lid to use as a shield while nabbing at the handle of the pan in a pathetically scared manner. It wasn't like the situation was dangerous but oh Gog was it nerve-wracking! He smacked it over to the next burner and the madness slowly died down.
"W-wow, that was... something. I can't believe that just happened!" His kitchen was a mess now but Amonee couldn't hold back awe-stricken laughter. Those kinds of disasters only happened in movies or TV shows, not in real life! What a mistake they had made. But at least it was just puffs of air filled corn, easily swept up but hard to forget. The painter smiled sheepishly at Nucleo and picked one of the good pieces off of the stove.
"Well, it tastes alright." He chewed on it as if the room was perfectly normal and he wasn't standing in a pile of popcorn. "What do you think of the party thing? We'll clean this up later." They still had enough for a bowl to eat while watching their show. And it was going to be on any minute now!

"That was insane!" Nucleo laughed as they scrambled to close the lid to the pan. They'd made a mess but it'd been fun to see Amonee's face go from calm to horrified in less than a second. Kind of like a jump-scare in a movie! He did feel bad about leaving it to clean later though. Hm...
"A party sounds fun! But I think our hives are too small." The greenblood admitted. His hive was doing its best as a makeshift coffeeshop but it really wasn't big enough to host as many trolls as he'd like. He was starting to make an actual profit from customers now that word was getting out about his shop. Perhaps he could expand it? But was it too early? It was hard to know when to make a call like that. Goatmom acted like she knew best but it wasn't like she'd ever run a full business before. Maybe it was best to leave the decision for later... put it off until another day.
The popcorn kernels on the floor crunched as he moved to carry the bowl into the living room.
No. It struck him- why waste time? Why operate like he didn't know if he'd get there? He was sure this was what he wanted to do when he grew up so why didn't he believe in himself more? His pumpbiscuit beat rapidly, like it was about to explode in excitement. He couldn't contain himself, he wanted to burst out and tell everyone now.
"Guess it's time for the Nightly Grind to expand!" Nucleo blurted out as they settled on the couch. Glancing over to his friend, the boy hoped to see approval in Amonee's eyes.
Yamashii Super late but finally posted! And I think you can close it after your next post.

"Oh my goodness, are you serious?" Nucleo had led the way out of the mess of a kitchen to watch their show but had dropped a bombshell as they sat down. He was going to expand the Nightly Grind? It was such a quaint cozy little place with its own unique casual atmosphere. A part of Amonee wondered if making it bigger would bring about more stresses than beetle but one look at his friend's excited face and he knew Nucleo could handle it.
"That sounds absolutely wonderful, Cleo. There's so much to do for that, let me help you if I can!" Amonee grabbed the greenblood in a heartfelt hug of pride. He was so amazed at what Nucleo had accomplished and was aiming to do! But the jadeblood had no idea how such a thing really worked. Did his friend need permits or anything? And how much did it cost to add on to the hive? Amonee simply went further back into his cave tunnels if he needed more room but the cafe was an actually constructed building. On top of that, there was the matter of adding new items to the menu- an expansion wouldn't be complete without more selection. Did that mean he'd need more staff too?
"-not gonna just hand it to you, it's mine!" A shriek from the speakers jolted the painter out of his thoughts and he looked at the screen to see the latest drama on Princess Vampires. A valuable hairpin artifact that all the princesses wanted and were preparing to fight for! That's right, they were hanging out to watch a show together and simply enjoy each other's company. He'd continue talking to Nucleo about the expansion after the episode. It would do the barista some good to let his mind stop thinking about it for an hour!
"Oh no... she wouldn't, would she? Eeeek!" Gasping at the fight unfolding before their very eyes, Amonee grabbed onto Nucleo's shoulder with each suspenseful moment before laughing and letting go at the slapstick and comedy sprinkled through out the show. He glanced eagerly during those moments to see if his friend was enjoying it as well and happily met eyes with Nucleo's. The greenblood was clearly humoring Amonee's choice even if it wasn't his cup of tea and for that the jadeblood was thankful.
This had turned out to be his favorite episode yet, he thought as he shifted deeper into the comfort of his couch and his friend's side. The two watched a little more of the night's scheduled programming but nothing came on that would stand out in their memories as clearly as the show the kitchen stove had put on!Doutei Andddddd done! RP all wrapped up. Sorry it took so long.
