Ballet rehearsals were, truly, exhausting. Sakura was glad the bus stop for the line that would take her home was so close to the rehearsal space, because her legs were burning and as dedicated as she was to her craft, it was still nice to not have to walk far. She collapsed at the bus station, stretching her legs out.
DCBC was intense, and she would have it no other way, really.
She did not notice a slithering shadow, moving towards her on the otherwise mostly empty street.

CRAPPY START

It'd been another solo patrol for her. Get out, see the waves across the city. Make sure things were together as they should be before Thanksgiving. Cleanup duty was required apparently, as she felt the tinge of a youma's energy signature.
Gritting her teeth a bit, she moved quickly across the rooftops, trying to track the darn thing. It didn't pop up on her visual radar, yet she could distinctly feel the aura coming from... close.
Copper waves caught her attention from down below on the street, and Metis made her way down, expecting to find the youma.
Drawing a bit closer, she tilted her head a bit as she took in the silhouette. Looked... human? Someone waiting for the bus then? Biting her lip a bit, she moved towards the person, pace quick and shoulders squared. "Excuse me? I'm sorry, but I must ask you to leave the area." She tried to keep her voice strong, all the while turning her head now and then, scanning the energy waves for the youma. Where was it..? "I'm sorry, but there is a situation forming here, so I must ask you to leave before you get drawn in."
What else could she do? Just leave the civilian there?
Of course. It would be her luck that she was speaking right to the youma...
Sakura blinked, turned her head, sighed heavily. The woman standing in front of her didn't look like any law enforcement official either back home or here - too pretty of an outfit, with that short skirt and those lacy boots. "What sort of a situation?" She found herself asking, almost boredly, as she began to stand up. "I'm a bit new to your city, so you'll forgive me for not being familiar with this, if it's normal."
She stretched her legs, a little, mentally cursing having to stand again.
And then the creature struck.
It wrapped around Sakura's legs, and she swore - loudly, and in Japanese - as it took her off her feet and she began flailing down. The youma looked like a piece of cloth, almost, rippling and wiggling.
"Help! Please!"

Oh dear. New to the area? Metis bit her lip a little, unsure how to break this to someone new to the city. And it wasn't like they had a lot of time... "It... sadly is normal. There are... well I realize this will sound ridiculous but there... are monsters here. That's the situation, miss." Metis floundered for words to try and elaborate--she just didn't have time and she kept looking about, trying to find the darned thing...
And just like that, a flash of a new copper silhouette formed and Metis let out a cry just as the other girl let out a shout in another language. Moving forward quick as she could--even in heels!--one hand moved to grab one of the girl's hands, while the other went to her tiara. "Oh no you don't," she snapped, an orb of light condensing in her hand at her tiara. "Mind's Eye Vision!" Tossing it, she hoped it hit the actual youma and not the girl...
She didn't know if youma actually saw visions from her magic.... but at least it worked. Far a she knew. Right now, she just needed a distraction to get the girl free so she could focus on dusting the damned thing.

Once the orb vanishes into the target, they would find themselves bombarded with unintelligible, jumbled, and all around random visions of... the future? The visions in their head would come in such a rapid succession that focusing on the present could be quite difficult, though not necessarily impossible. The visions last for 10 seconds.
Ordinarily, Sakura would have argued the presence of monsters. Her brother was the folklorist, not her, but there was no denying that something inhuman and alive was wrapped around her legs and trying to drag her down.
And her rescuer did something - sometihng undeniably magical. Sakura inhaled sharply as the bright light struck the thing around her legs and made it make a keening noise, loosening its grip enough for her to stumble back. Right into a little, glowing paper ghost.
Unthinkingly, she took it in hand.
As she held it, she felt a rush of power, of...magic, and it was like a breath of fresh air. Like finally waking up from a nap she hadn't realized she had taken, like...like the world was suddenly in full technicolor after being in muted shades her whole life.
She felt, in that moment, utterly and completely alive.

Metis reached down to try and help the girl away from the youma, moving quickly over to her side. "Are you alright? It might have drained you of some energy--are you feeling ok?" But the words were barely out of her mouth before a flare of energy spiked and Metis only then registered the tiny blip of white energy that had been hidden behind the other young woman.
Not that she really put two and two together--knights weren't her speciality--but the energy signature that formed after a few waves of blinding white energy flowed out from the other girl told her enough. "Oh! I suppose that means you're alright in... well. A sense." Though Metis winced. Someone else new in this whole ordeal. Oh dear...
"This creature is called a youma. Once we destroy it--dust it, as the slang is--we... I can try and explain what's going on." Turning back to the creature, Metis kicked out at it hard, hoping to land a blow to it's head or back. Violence wasn't usually in her nature, but when youma were involved...
"I'm feeling alright," Sakura - not Sakura, not anymore, she knew that on some fundamental level - said, but she leaned against the other woman a little, kicking her feet to send the thing further away. "A little confused, but alright."
She rolled the little ghost between her fingers - an ame ame bozu, a rain charm.
So. Destroy the monster. Fine. She kicked at it again, and ti made a sad little wail, and she would have felt bad, except apparently it drained energy and gods only knew what else. So she lifted up her foot one more time, and drove the solid, square heel of her fancy new boot into the thing, and kept it there as it struggled and flailed and writhed underfoot, until finally it let out a last huffing noise and dissolved into dust.
She stared down at where it used to be, and then looked back over at her rescuer.
"What...just happened?" she asked, feeling more than a little bit lost.

Metis put her hands on the other girl's shoulders to steady her, brow furrowing a bit in concern that maybe the youma had drained her a bit. But she clearly had the energy to lash out at the creature, and Metis felt nothing but the grim satisfaction that another youma was snuffed out. There would always be more, unfortunately.
A wary, albeit friendly smile came to her features as she motioned away. "I can explain... and will be happy to answer any and all of your questions, but shall we go elsewhere? We can find a place to power down--return to our civilian selves, that is--and go to a quiet cafe I know of. You should probably sit down--and it'll be my treat of course, if you wish to order anything."
She felt horrible, that the girl was now brought into the war. No warning, no heads up... a quiet, private place where they could speak, she figured that would be the best sort of location for this. She'd no issue powering down before the other girl, and grateful she'd had her cane and purse with her when she'd gone out before, making it all the easier to navigate around into the warm establishment. Any bit of comfort could help ease the amount of information and unease that, at least in Lilith's mind, would accompany the new world Sakura had been dragged into.
