He'd waited a bit before heading back to the Fire Escape where he'd first seen her after the kidnapping. Long enough at least his scratches were more or less healing, at least in part because it was her. It wasn't just every day you looked up from a picture from a forgotten past and saw them looking back at you, in the flesh. She came with more answers to questions than he was sure he wanted to ask, and that was a lot to handle, even when the lightest of them was "Are you alright". But he couldn't put it off forever... or well... he could, but he knew he shouldn't, and she hadn't known him to see him anyway, and that was good. So here he was again, back on the fire escape where he used to live, crouched down to peer through the glass in search of a house light and knocking on the pane. "Hey... anyone home?"

Caitlin had been rather willing to try and forget the whole kidnapping s**t had happened. Not that it was especially easy--though she was now rather curious how many of the unsolved disappearances, including Falco's, could have been related to perhaps similar kidnappings in the past.
It wasn't like there'd been a path for the police to follow when she and the others had been kidnapped. Or at least, none that she'd been able to inquire about after the event and she'd gone to the police rather upset about their lack of action.
Their response hadn't been especially warm.
That night, Caitlin was trying to just... forget for the moment. HBO was on, she was curled up in warm, red fuzzy pj pants and a baggy cotton candy pink tank top. A bunch of wine coolers were chilling in her fridge, one popped open and in her hand as she reclined under a blanket on the couch. She'd had no intention of moving...
...till she heard the sound of movement on her fire escape.
For a while, she'd considered ignoring it. Not bothering. But when she heard a slightly muffled, but familiar voice...
Cat sighed and got up, winding the blanket around her shoulders as she moved over to unlatch the window and push it open. Peering out into the night, she stared up at the man in red. "Look, it's freezing out, and maybe you're ok baring it all in that uniform, I am not dealing with the cold, so c'mon in."

"Trust me if I was that exposed in this get up I would not be on fire escapes or rooftops I would be trying awkwardly to fit a pair of jeans on with this damn thing." He admitted, pretty sure his complexion had migrated in the direction of the tattered cape, and hoped it would be passed off as the bite of the cold. "I don't have to stick around, I just wanted to make sure you were ok..., and apologize for what seems to be Destiny's version of a welcoming fruit basket. Hey Welcome to the city, here is your complementary kidnapping, enjoy your stay..." A mess. It had been a mess. And he felt guilty about not being able to get to her faster, getting tangled up with Cinnabar and everything. "...I can go." He finished, awkwardly. Because if showing up to the rescue covered in your own blood didn't look awkward, this really did.

One of Caitlin's brows shot up, trying to picture such a view. To the point her eyes actually traveled down his figure. "...unless you're using jeans that are like... twice your size to get that armor around your hips under it, you'd be better off with yoga or sweat pants," she pointed out. Flicking her gaze back to his face, she looked less amused by his offer to leave.
Though the corners of her mouth did twitch a bit back up when he tried a joke about a welcome fruit basket. Especially since she actually had one of those on her kitchen table from some of the neighbors...
Rolling her eyes, Cat got up onto the inner window sill and reached up to grasp the--rather cold--brass nose ring on his bull pauldron with one of her fingers. Despite the height difference, she had no shame in tugging hard on it to make it clear she was intent on dragging him in if need be.
"What are you, a reverse-a-vamp? I invited you in. Come on in. As it is, I've got a mostly uneaten fruit basket from one of the ladies that lives in the building, and I'm not eating it all. At least that is a proper welcoming... one that this city as a whole clearly likes to ******** over."
Her huffs and gruffs were harmless, though her skin was begging to get a bit red from the nips from the cold. And she was... very obviously trying to not look at the very, very prominent marks on his face.
The damn ones he'd gotten trying to help her...

"Ha... good point..." He cleared his throat in further embarrassment, not immune to the further embarrassment of her drifting stare. "I just don't w-" He was interrupted by the firm jerk on the nose ring of his pauldron. He could have resisted more than easily enough, but let her yank him inside. It was warmer in there anyway. OK the 'but it might attract attention' thing only carried so much weight anyway. It was a two way street, and if he thought trouble was incoming he could easily go and meet it. Much like her earlier wandering stare though, her avoidance of looking at his face didn't go unnoticed either. "...Don't worry about it." He blurted, awkwardly. "Goes with the territory. Like... Batman but without the money, sidekick, mansion or appreciation. I mean I kinda get the secret lair thing but it's sorta out of the way." He joked. That at least seemed to get her to relax a little. Him too. It didn't hurt anyway. "...We heal fast... if that helps." He added. If she was anything like him, he guessed she'd be hard sold on the idea it wasn't somehow her fault. "No more problems so far?"
