Her arrival on the mainland had gone rather uneventful, something for which Ariya was pleased with. It meant that her journey was starting out on a good leg and she needed that moral booster. She lingered only a short time by the shore, talking to other sisters to learn where the mounts were located and what was the best way to tame them. When she learned all she could she started inward. The glowing underbrush of the jungle didn't seem all that spectacular to her, then again Chibale had much the same plant life. With her spear in hand she stayed alert and walked on. In some days she managed to find and pass through Andile. Ariya hadn't stopped since she was still good on supplies. However, as she neared Ast she noticed she was running low on food. While she debated on whether or not to hunt for it or buy it she soon found herself within the village and the decision made for her. She would find her way to the market and buy something small to tide her over until she felt like hunting for her own. With an almost oblivious air she sauntered through the streets aimlessly searching for the vendors.

Mano had definitely been enjoying his time in Ast, making him feel as though he should really thanks Sauron for leading him to this wonderful village. Not only had he been able to chat up the handsome Shifter but he'd met and made friends with an equally as handsome Wind Tribesman. It really was one of the better choices he'd made even if it meant leaving behind the beaches of Jauhar which he had been enjoying greatly. He'd go back there at some point he was certain but for the time beind he was pretty happy about where he was. Besides, just because he wasn't near to the ocean he was still able to get some fishing in. With some help from those of Ast he'd figured out where a nearby river was located that he could go fishing in for fresh water fish instead of sea water. Trident in hand he was on his way in that direction when something interesting and new caught his eyes, something amazing enough that it caused the Water Tribesman to stop dead in his tracks. Blinking a couple times he murmured to himself, "Hey... wait a second." Wasn't that one of them, what were they called again, Alkidike? He hadn't found himself with the opportunity to meet one of them before. There had been the chance of going to Sauti to help them in that particular battle but Mano hadn't had it in him. He wield a trident, knew how to fight, but he didn't really like to fight. He was a lover, not a fighter, and he hadn't wanted to use his trident againt the some one that could very well be a good person deep down. He knew that some of them were supposedly zealous in their beliefs, beliefs that others didn't care for, but he'd still been unable to bring himself to fight. Now though, now he had a chance meet one of the beautiful giant women since they were in more peaceful times. Giving a happy twitch of his fin ears he started toward the tall woman, giving a happy sound. Once he was close enough he said, "Greetings my tall, beautiful lady! How's it going?" Wow, she was a bit taller then him, huh? No matter, it just made her that much more attractive to him.

When she found out that she was lost in the village she looked around confusedly. A sense of direction would likely be good here but Ariya truly didn't possess one. On the islands she didn't have to worry about it, eventually she would end up where she wanted to go if she kept walking. Here, on the mainland however, she found simply walking wasn't the answer. Ariya stopped long enough and bring a finger to her lips as she thought and her ears picked up the sound of someone coming closer, though she didn't immediately think that they were approaching her. When Mano spoke it made her antennae twitch, making the piercings on the ends and the rings around the middle give a bit of a jingle. Blinking she turned her head to look at him only to stare for a long moment. One, she'd never seen someone like him. His coloring and ears were very interesting. Two, she was unsure of how to respond to his words. "Uh, me? Well, I'm not yours but.. I think I'm a bit lost." The finger that she kept at her lips now fiddled with the metal stud that was in her bottom lip.

Mano gave a bright smile, "Of course! I don't see any other tall beauty around here." He gave a glance around, checking the area as though to make sure, before he nodded, "Yep, you're the only one I see with such pretty eyes and adorable antennae." What a beautiful tribe she came from he found himself thinking, instantly taken with the pretty female. The Alkidike were quite amazing to behold, weren't they? It rather made him want to make friends with her if at all possible. As the Alkidike woman commented on behind a bit lost his eyes got a bit wide with surprise and a bit of concern, "Oh? You're lost? Where are you trying to get?" He asked in a curious manner before he offered, "I am not as familiar with some are but I will help if at all possible." No reason not to help her out if he was able to. He supposed that it mostly depended on where she was going and if he had any idea where that place might be. With Mano's luck, and given his lack of knowledge as far as the area went, he might end up getting them both lost. He'd do his best though.

Pretty eyes? Ariya stared blankly at him. Her eyes were no different than any of the other sisters. And.. her antennae? Her hand went from toying with her lip ring to poking at her bug-like feature curiously. Ariya was sure this.. female? Male? Either way she was sure they had bumped their head. Not that it mattered to her. After all, they offered to help her find her way. So she grinned and gave a glance around before bringing her gaze back to Mano. "I was trying to find the market. I need to stock up on food so I can make my way to Tale." Her goal was to eventually find a mount. Some sisters had directed her to lands that had bigger beasts. "That reminds me.. do you know the way to Tale?" Might as well get some directions while she was at it. Given that she didn't know north from south when all she got to look at was the glowing under parts of the forest. "I need to find a mount that is suitable for me."

Mano clapped his hands together, looking quite pleased, "The marketplace? That is definitely something that I can help with!" He sounded happy abou tthe fact that he was going to be able to help the pretty Alkidike woman because he was kind of worried for a moment there. Instead of her asking to go somewhere that he wasn't certain about she was interested in the marketplace which he'd spent some time in himself. There were a lot of nice Shifters to chat up in the marketplace and directions to be had meaning that he'd be able to help her out with the information that he'd gathered for himself. Quite happy with this he said, "I could lead you to the market if you'd like, so that you can get the supplies that you need?" Nodding his head he said, "I actually came from Tale, though it was a while ago. Still, I am sure that I could share with you directions that would help you to get there." He'd gone straight north through Tale, hit the ocean, then traveled along the beaches of Tale and into Jauhar. Not exactly the directions that he would give to her, but he was sure that they could figure out. At the mention of her finding a mount he found himself starring for a moment before he asked, "You're going to be a rider?" Wow, what were the odds that he'd meet with so many of them in such a short amount of time? He gave a chuckle, feeling thathe must be lucky when it came to meeting with such people. "Hmm, I'd suggest a radaku, since they are so popular among those I have met to this point, but they might be a little too small for you." He gave her a thoughtful once over then said, "If you ever make it to my homeland you can always seek out a snaptrotter, those should be the right size. Not to mention that one of those would make you look quite amazing and a little intimidating."

It pleased her to know that this.. Tangled roots! She still didn't know if it was a he or a she. Ariya tilted her head a little and stepped a little closer to Mano so that she could figure it out. Of course this would put her well within his personal bubble. Then finally she knew. Male! So this was a he! With that mystery solved she could finish her train of thought. Pleased to know that he could help point her in the direction of the market she nodded her head and even accepted his help as her guide. "That would be great. I kinda ate all my food on the way here.." Ariya said a bit guiltily. "Oh, I am going to be a guardian." Ariya wasn't sure that she would consider herself a mere rider. Having stayed in Mano's personal space she grinned at him when he said he could also offer directions to Tale. That was perfect! Now if he offered to take her there, that would be better. However, her thoughts were pulled from that as he mentioned a radaku as a favored mount. "Yes, I know several sisters who have them as familiars, but they won't make a good mount for me." Obviously they were a bit small. "Snaptrotter? I would love to look amazing and intimidating. I think I might have to get one." And almost like that her mind had been made up! Now where did one get a snaptrotter...?

Mano lifted his gaze, starring up at the pretty Alkidike woman as she stepped in closer to him, closing the distance between them. He looked up at her, gave a smile, then said, "I rather like this, feel free to stay this close to me for as long as you'd like, beautiful." Mano wasn't going to complain, not when he had someone as pretty as her this close to him. A shame that it seemed she wasn't going to stick this close forever... or at least for a pleasant amount of time. "A guardian? Is that a version of a rider?" He asked, a curious look on his face now. He'd heard that the Alkidike had their own way of doing things, which meant that becoming a 'guardian' must mean something special to her. For him it was a curiosity, making him really wonder what everything in entailed. Not that he could become one though, he was happy with the path that he was taking. Especially since it allowed him to find his own food. Blinking a couple times he said, "Have you ever tried fishing? It's a good option as far as food goes for when one is traveling. Come on, this way." He motioned to her, moving to lead her to where the market was located. As he walked along he gave a grin, "Snaptrotters are an interesting species, one that can be grouchy mouthfuls of teeth that steal nets full of fish but when one tames one it's great. If I can make a suggestions though, try to get one as a hatchling. Their small then, something you can carry around in your arms, and it gives you plenty of time to win them over." He wasn't sure if she'd take the advice but otherwise it would be her butting heads with the creature's natural personality which could be difficult for those with a weaker constitution.

She could stay close? Ariya wasn't sure what that had to do with anything. Though she didn't think much on it since he mentioned fishing and whether she knew how to or not. Of course she knew about it, though she'd never actually spent the time to figure it all out. It would work in a pinch, she supposed. As Mano started to lead the way she watched him and opened her mouth to say something but found no words. So instead she followed after him. Only.. Well, she took his words a little too seriously. Ariya made sure she was extremely close to Mano as they walked, so much so that her body would touch his on more than one occasion. "Where are we going?" She had assumed it was the market, but with the talk of fishing.. she was starting to doubt that. Any and all advice on the snaptrotter was stored away for later. She could ask about it once she was sure she was going to get more food. After all, he was being nice enough and didn't seem to be in a hurry to run off like most earthlings.

No answer? Huh, did that mean that it was a secret? That was a thought that fill the Water Tribesman with a variety of curious thoughts. Did she not want to tell him? Was she unable to tell him? Was she just not one to share with a stranger about what she was planning to do with her life? He supposed that could be any of the above so he wouldn't really push her. Instead he'd just continue on with what he'd offered to do, that being to get her to market place. Giving a smile at her question Mano said, "I thought that you wanted supplies?" His mouth then turned into a grin, his eyes sparkling, before he asked, "Unless of course you'd rather just spend some time alone with me?" He gave her wink as he asked the question.
Chuckling a little he continued onward, to where the market place was gathered, and he motioned to her, "Alright, here we are! Is there anything in particular that you're looking for?" He asked, feeling that he'd better be able to lead her to the right seller if he knew what sort of supplies she was in the market for.

"Time alone? I don't mind." After all, he didn't seem like he was a real threat to her. Ariya enjoyed speaking to him as well. He was rather easy going for an earthling. At least she thought so from what she'd seen of him so far. When they reached the market she all but ran into Mano, which caused her to grab hold of him so that she didn't knock him over. Distracted by shiny things she looked around and heard rather than felt her antennae twitch in response. "Oh wow.. Uhm. I need some dried meat to take with me.." Not that she'd complain about getting some other supplies too. Then a thought hit her and she looked at her guide with a tilted head. "What about fishing? I want to learn more about the snaptrotter too." Then something else dawned on her. She'd ignored a question he'd asked due to her being overly curious about where he was leading her. Ariya gave a sheepish look. "You asked me a question earlier.. didn't you? I'm easily distracted. What was it?" Well she didn't figure her escort would take kindly to being ignored in such a way. Hopefully she hadn't upset him.

Mano looked, for a moment, exstatic over the fact that the beautfiul Alkidike woman didn't mind the idea of having time alone with Mano. A shame that it didn't seem as though she understood what he meant by the question though. Still, her naivety was quite attractive in its own way he thought to himself, his fin ears giving a happy little twitch. How he'd love to take full advantage, see if he couldn't get a kiss or two from the woman. A thought that completely abandoned him, along with all other thoughts, as she nearly crashed into him before grabbing hold of him. He blinked a couple times, then grinned, "Seems I have all beautiful people falling all over me... can't say that I mind." If anything he rather enjoyed it and wouldn't mind if she continued to hold onto him the entire shopping trip. As he lead her around, and the conversation turned toward fishing, Mano's smile brightened, "Fishing is the second best way to spend one's time you know! It's a test of one's skills, as well as a way to sharpen them, as well as a good way to gather food. I wouldn't mind showing you how to do it some time if you'd like? We can chat about snaptrotters as we go about it as well!" The more time spent with her the merrier after all. "Hrm? Did I?" He blinked a couple times, going over what he'd asked her thus far, before he gave a snap of his fingers, "Ah! Yes, about Guardians. Was just curious what exactly one is. I can't say I've heard the term before now."

The comment about beautiful people falling all over him caused Ariya to look around before she brought her eyes back to Mano. The cue going right over her antennae as she didn't grasp what he was saying. She gave a grin and cuddled him a bit closer. Of course she thought this was appropriate. "Beautiful people should fall all over me too." Ariya chuckled. "Oh, I would like to try fishing. When can we go?" She was practically like a little kid asking when she could have her treat. But the idea of learning to fish was enticing. Plus she'd get to hear about the snaptrotter. Ariya had practically already made up her mind that she wanted one as her mount. So the more information she had about it the better. "Oh right. Well, we're called that because we guard the way of life for the tribe. Guardians protect Aisha and the sisters as well as the mystics. We get mounts to ride and we are rather fierce." She gave a small nod as she spoke about her chosen path. Granted not all of it was spot on. But no one had ever claimed to have Ariya's full attention at any given moment. "Oooo, I like that necklace.." She said as they passed a small jewelry vendor. Shifter items weren't radically different from Alkidike ones but there was enough of a change that it caught her eye.

Mano blinked a couple times, then gave a bit of a laugh, "I think I rather like your way of thinking, Pretty Lady." He told Ariya, rather enjoying the fact that she said that beautiful people should fall all over her as well. That was definitely something that he'd like to see, especially if he was allowed to be a part of all the falling. He could imagine it now, the Alkidike woman, himself, and a third party to be named later all falling together. The thought something that caused him to give a bit grin. "When? Hm, well... once we get your supplies gathered then we can see about some fishing. It shouldn't be too hard for me to teach you and you should have fun doing it I bet! Well... I hope so at least, surely I can't be the only one that loves fishing as much as I do." He said, giving a happy sound, clapping his hands together. Oh yes, this was definitely going to be a lot of fun! The two of them, armed with their weapons, heading into 'battle' against the fish that would eventually become their dinner. That was his idea of a fun time! As the woman set to explaining to him what a guardian was Mano gave a little whistle, "I see... that sounds like a noble way of life." It sounded like it would be a lot of work but at the same time it would likely be worth it as well for her. To serve a person's tribe was something noble though not something that Mano himself had been able to do. Mano on the other hand was just a wandering fisherman and flirt, also a noble profession, at least in his eyes. Walking along he gave pause as the girl was distracted by a necklace, turning to give it a glance, "It does look neat. Fan of necklaces?" He asked, always curious to learn more about those he was hanging out with.

Pretty? "You think I'm pretty? But.. I'm not even decorated.." Ariya meant that she wasn't wearing anything that would gain anyone's attention. Obviously she didn't count her multiple piercings. Her oblivious look to the situation would definitely not go unnoticed. Even someone randomly passing by would see it. Though it was gone the moment he mentioned that they could go fishing as soon as she had her supplied. Like a little kid she gave a small hop and wrapped her arms around Mano before pulling him toward her and hugging him. Nevermind that she was slightly taller and his head might not be clear of her chest. "Yes! Lets go." It took a moment for her to let go but when she did she was frantically looking for what she wanted. Vaguely she heard him ask if she liked necklaces and she nodded her head. Ariya loved them. And other jewelry. "I like shiny things actually.."
