She should not be doing this.
The brunette had been staring at the front door for a food ten minuets, pulling her hand back and forth. Would she knock, would she head back home? Who knew, she sure as hell didn't.
She was arguing with herself, she had made a promise long ago to never come back here, never revisit that life. However, here she was. Drawn in by what must be a sirens call. Her and Raven had been eyeing each other through the duration of that meeting a few short days ago, and even though neither of the women had been vocal about it, tension was there. It was not like they were ever best friends, there relationship started with a misunderstanding, and then an argument. Looking back she had acted bratty, but that was in her nature then, she was scared - and lashing out. Looking for someone to direct her rage towards, and Raven was easy to pick at. Sure, things eventually settled between them, but it was never perfect.
When she had received a message, asking to come bake cookies of all things, she was apprehensive. Was it an olive branch, was it a dagger?
She had thought long and hard before replying, but came to the conclusion that if she cared enough to attend that meeting, some unfinished business must be pulling here here. She replied back with a simple 'okay' and left it at that. Sending an emoji ten minuets later when she decided she had been too blunt.
Yet that door, something about it scared her. The thought of being sucked back into the DMC and all their crazy proposals by friends and smiling faces. She did not belong with them, she never did and sure as hell did not want to be apart of their family. The word still made anger boil in her stomach, she had taken a dislike to so many at that meeting, it only assured her of her path. At least, that is how she felt until Jett had cornered her in the street and reawaken emotions she had fully intended to bury. Why did he have this power over her? It was like the power Castor had, it was so... confusing.
Maybe it was their power. Their Charisma. Who knew.
She was self destructive, she was sure of it. The golden eyed girl smiled as she knocked on the door, preparing herself for whatever pain she was about to inflict on her own psyche.
Instantly, she regretted the knock.

It took a good long minute or two before the door opened, but when it did, there stood Raven, her blonde hair tied up in a messy bun on the top of her head, covered head to toe in what looked like flour, but smelled like baby powder.
Because it was baby powder.
Because Chloe had kicked the bottle out of her hand while she was being changed.
Because baby powder loved to form a massive cloud of sweet smelling dust and cover absolutely everything in the bedroom.
Because that was what had happened.
And now Ophelia was there. To bake cookies…but first Raven would have to clean up…well, at least clean up herself and the baby…Jett could clean up the room when he got home from work. He was a good fiancé like that.
Seriously.
“Ophelia! You came! Hi! There was an accident while I was changing Chloe and now I’m…well. I smell good, at any rate. Come in, come in! I have the kitchen all set up, I just need to wash my face off…I guess I could just leave my clothes like this. Knowing my luck today I’ll be covered in baking powder or flour or some other white powder by day’s end.”
Powdered sugar would be something to watch out for too…powdered sugar was awful.

She was mortified, now more convinced than ever this was a trap.
Raven was being nice, she was being nice after the two had stared each other out in Mirrorspace. Something was up, but she could not comprehend her plan, maybe Raven was more a deviant than she gave her credit for. This all felt too... ordinary. Like she had not betrayed them, like she had not run away without a word, like she had not done everything in her power to make an enemy out of them. It was surreal, like she was dreaming, and it made her feel uncomfortable and guilty as sin. The brunette felt a shiver run up her spine, why did she feel so dirty?
She was doomed.
As Raven turned she outlined a cross across her chest. Making her peace.
Ofie inhaled, she could not put her finger on that that smell was, but it smelt familiar. She was currently none the wiser that Raven was a mother, one of the many things that Jett had failed to mention in their brief meeting. Not knowing this key bit of information, it was no surprise that two and two did not add up. Not until a name was mentioned that made her pause in confusion.
"Chloe...?" She thought for a moment, maybe Raven was babysitting for some extra money? That sounded reasonable? More reasonable in her mind than the truth was.
"Thank you." Ofie clicked off her shoes by the door and walked into the house, it was all too familiar and she found herself almost instinctively following after Rvan despite her apprehension. It was like she was in a trance. Lead along by a blonde piper.
"Hey Raven, who's Chloe?"
She asked, pretty flatly.

Raven paused and turned to Ophelia, blinking slowly. “You haven’t…well I mean, I guess it wasn’t really announced or anything…Chloe is my daughter, mine and Jett’s daughter.”
The blonde went through a doorway into a room and returned a moment later, holding a squishy little baby who was very clean—clearly she had taken priority over Raven getting the powder off of herself.
“Ta da! Chloe, this is your Auntie Ophelia, Ophelia, this is Chloe, the little love of my life. My mashed potato.” She gave the baby a squeeze, beaming at her, then turning the smile on Ophelia. “I’m so glad you’re back. I really am. Jett hadn’t even bothered to tell me he got into contact with you…I’ve been so out of the loop with the court and everything, but I couldn’t power up, you see…having this little wiggle butt in my belly made it impossible to!” But she was back now, and she had already brought someone new to the court…she had to get the family to grow again. She couldn’t just let them keep leaving…
She wouldn’t let herself lose another sister.
But. Now wasn’t the time to think of such things. “If you want to hold her, I’ll get myself cleaned up a bit and we can start on those cookies, okay?”

Ophelia stopped breathing, her legs almost giving away with shock. Was the room spinning? The room felt like it was spinning. A very human expression of surprise was painted across the face of the usual rather stoic character. Despite her best efforts, she could not hold it back.
Golden eyes lowered slowly to look at the baby in Ravens arms, the initial feeling of shock melting away to reveal anxiety. They were a family, they were a family in the middle of a war which was only going to get worse. Finally she exhaled, her face regaining its hard expression.
"A-auntie?" She realised what Raven had said and her heart was racing again. She could not be an auntie, she had not even worked out who she was yet! Months on, Ophelia still felt like a stranger to herself, a weapon of aggression and nothing else - Nobody should look to such a person and call them Auntie.
"W-we have not been in contact for long. The meeting was rather random, we just bumped into each other." She paused, not really knowing what else to say, is she had it her way she would have happily of stayed in hiding forever. She was never planning to see him again, to see Raven again, but here she was. "You, were not able to power up? I can not say I ever thought about it. I can not say I ever thought it was possible for any of us to have families." They were warriors, and she had resided herself to the fact that the battle took priority over such things. Being able to be a Senshi, and have a normal civilian life, the concept was alien to her. She had always been Mjolnir first, thus why her relationships as Ophelia suffered so much - it was an afterthought.
Ofie stepped back, hold her? She opened her mouth to talk, but no words came out. Instead, she just nodded with apprehension. She had never held a baby before, they were so delicate and she was so... her. She offered her arms to Raven, her breathe cinching once more.

Raven laughed. “Yeah, Auntie. We’re sisters of the court, so of course you’re her auntie.” She gave Chloe a quick kiss on the forehead and gently put the baby into the other woman’s arms, smiling brightly.
“I mean, I didn’t realize it was going to happen, let me assure you…but it appears that being a senshi or whatever doesn’t stop reproduction…so if you’re having a thing with a boy, you really should remember to use protection. I mean, I wouldn’t change anything but…but it was difficult. I felt very stuck, seeing and hearing about everything through Jett…but…I don’t know. I have the most beautiful baby in the world now so…So I really couldn’t be happier.”
The blonde shoved her hair from her eyes and grinned. “Okay, I’ll be right back, then we can make this house smell like Christmas!”
She darted off into the bathroom, taking her sweet time in washing off her face and arms, and going so far as to change her shirt as well.
The baby in Ophelia’s arms looked up at this strange new person and gave a little smile. Either she liked Ofie’s face, or she had gas. Either one was a viable option.

She frowned, all this talk of family was making her feel anxious. She still did not consider the court a family, but if anyone was, she supposed Raven and Jett would be the closest thing to it. Still, the title did not fit well with her. Yet, her displeasure soon made way for more shock, her cheeks reddening. Did she even hear that right?
"R-raven! Y-y- Blargh. Humbug."
Ofie pouted, shocked at the direction the conversation had taken. She was a twenty-two year old woman, she was far too old to be reminded to use protection. Not that it was really an issue anyway. Ophelia's love life had never been what people would call bopping. She blushed and looked down a the baby in her arms.
It was looking at her...
This strange little humanoid that felt out of place in her arms.
"Don't get too attached Kid, I might not be around for much longer." She whispered to the baby, she would soon learn that Auntie Ofie was a grump.
IF they managed to get out of this alive, this little girl was destined for Space and Ofie had no intention of following. She rocked the child in her arms and her face could not help but soften. She supposed...
She was rather cute.

“What was that Ophelia?” Raven had come back into the room and saw the other woman saying something to Chloe, she wanted to know what it was too!
She was nice and mostly clean, her hair tied up into a fresh bun on the top of her head, now wearing a sweatshirt that wasn’t covered in baby powder. “Let’s bring her into the kitchen, I have her bassinet all set up in there so we don’t have to hold her…unless she fusses, of course.
But little Chloe didn’t seem too terribly fussy today, in fact, she gave another smile, was it just gas again? Or did she understand the secret that Auntie Ofie was telling her.
Raven waved a hand and showed Ophelia into the kitchen, taking the baby from her and kissing her head again before placing her into the ruffly bassinet that was set up at the end of the kitchen counter. “Now, what kind of cookies do you want to make first? I have the stuff for chocolate chip, sugar and for oatmeal raisin! I even got sprinkles and icing for the sugar cookies…this is going to be so much fun I just can’t stand it!”
It was the first Christmas with her daughter…it was just special, that was all. This year had been special...very sad at parts…but very, very happy at others…
She may have lost Lydia…but look at this, now she had gained Ophelia back…and she liked that. She really did. “Your pick! We’ll make them all, but you can decide what to make first.”

"Oh, nothing."
Ofie shook her head, there was no way she was going down that line of conversation today. She handed the baby back, her arms suddenly feeling really empty when the weight left them. She silently followed Raven into the kitchen, golden eyes taking note of all the ingredients that had already been diligently laid out. It seemed like there really was a full day of cookie making ahead of them... Oh Jeez, she had never baked in her life.
She was lost in her head for a moment, only snapping out of it when she realised Raven was asking her a question. She answered hastily, her daydream breaking. "Oatmeal Raisin." She answered, they were her favourite ones afterall. Ofie folded her arms and looked over to the bassinet on the counter, her mind still transfixed on this strange creature in the room.
So many questions, so many questions were coming to mind. What must her starseed look like?
"Please, call me Ofie... It is what people call me now." She looked to the side, that famous pout of hers returning. Nobody had called her Ophelia, well since she met Ginger. Her heart ached for a moment at the thought.
"It is what my friends call me now."
Not that she had many of those either.

Raven grinned. “Those are my favorite, I love eating them when they’re fresh out of the oven and they fall apart and the raisins are plump from the heat and ugh. I’m ready to dig in already!” She tugged Ofie closer and smiled. “Ofie it is then. That’s a really cute name you know, and I think it suits you.”
She didn’t want to be too much of a nerd at being called her friend…but it made her feel very warm inside, warm and loved…the same way that holding Chloe made her feel. It was just…it was nice.
“Hey, Ofie. Would you like to spend Christmas here? It’ll be Chloe’s first Christmas and I’d like you to share it with Jett and I. I haven’t asked him, but I know he’ll say yes. He was worried about you, a lot. It used to bug me, honestly. But I was a petty b***h before and I’m sorry. I should have been nicer to you…you were scared and didn’t know what was going on and I treated you like a home wrecker and you didn’t deserve that…and I truly apologize for that.”
She had already mixed up all of the dry ingredients and was turning on the mixer to fix up the wet ones…clearly this was something she had practiced before having someone over to make cookies…she hadn’t wanted to mess things up…that would have been just terrible.

"I am not cute." Ophelia pouted in protest. Absolutely not.
The brunettes gaze returned to Raven when the topic of Christmas arose. She paused for a moment before she finally gave her answer. "T-that, sounds good, actually. I will not be able to stay too late though." Castor promised he would come and see her, but his visits never lasted too long and only came by after sunset, she supposed being a Prince was very demanding on ones schedule. Raven of all people should understand that.
She had to admit, the apology took her by surprise and once again that all too stoic expression melted off of her face. "Thank you, but there is no need to apologise. If anything I should be saying that to you - There were a lot of other factors playing a part at that time Raven, a lot of things that I had no control over that nobody knew about, not even Jett. I was angry and I took it out on anyone that gave me the slightest reason to. I would have not usually acted so hostile in the wake of such trivial disagreements." She paused for a moment before she headed over to the sink to wash her hands. She then grabbed a paper towel to dry them on, turning around to look at the blonde one more time.
"Raven. I know you are trying to build bridges and I appreciate it. But, I do not think its a good idea to try and get close to me. There are some things I need to do, and those things are going to inspire a lot of hatred towards me from inside the court. Keeping your distance, as I had been doing, might truly be for the best."

Raven was quiet, listening to Ophelia and mixing up the batter for the cookies. She was glad that Ophelia didn’t seem against coming over for Christmas but…but the way the other woman was talking…it made her feel almost uneasy.
This wasn’t what she wanted for her court. She didn’t want people to think they had to go off and do things on their own. The members of the court should be able to depend on one another, they should be a family.
Sure she might have said that a lot…but she finally believed it. Her eyes strayed over to Chloe for a moment, and she gave the smallest smile, before just throwing caution to hell and throwing her arms around Ofie and hugging her tightly. “You’re not in this alone. If you don’t want to build bridges with any of us, that’s fine. But I won’t stop trying, and honestly, I feel if you didn’t want to at least build a something with me you would have rejected my invitation to come over here today, so…”
The squeeze tightened for a moment. “We want to be here for you. Jett and I. We want to make this a family, we’re not just tossing around pretty words, I want my court to be safe, I want them all to feel loved. Especially the ones who lost so much in joining us…”

"Raven, between the Dark Mirror and the Negaverse, I have had ever single last thing I ever cared about taken away from me. Every. Single. Last. Thing. It was not the White Moon, not the Knights that did that to me it was my own Court; and then some within that Court felt like they had the right to lecture me about self-sacrifice?" She felt the blonde's arms around her, and she raised her hand so she could rest it on them. Closing her eyes she spoke as calmly as she could, but still she could feel her heart racing. She did not know what she was trying to build, maybe having Raven understand was all she wanted to achieve. Give her the explanations she deserved, even if she would dislike her for it.
"Please understand my point of view. I know that not everyone is like Ares and not everyone's thinks the way she did. But if a group of strangers took you away from Jett, from Chloe, never to be seen again and then told you to call them family." She stopped herself, taking in a deep breath to steady her thoughts. "What do they want? My love? Well, I do not think I can capable of that anymore. I am too scared of it being taken away from me because that is what Chaos does. And it always does." She turned around, placing her fingers on Ravens shoulders. Golden eyes looking in to the eyes of the new mother, she needed to hear this. To know all the facts before she let her into her life again.
"Now Jett wants us to go into space. To leave Destiny City, the one thing I have left. No, I am going to stay here and I am going to defend the last remnant of the person I was before. I am not ready to let go of that and I do not think I ever will be. Please, do not ask me to give that up too" Ofie looked over at Chloe and frowned. "I am going to join the war against the Negaverse because the people of Destiny City have suffered enough, I am going to erase them without discrimination or mercy, because I am solider." Her vengeance, her wrath.
"And there are people in our Court, who will want to save them."

Raven swallowed, slowly nodding, tears bubbling up in her eyes without her permission. “I understand. So…so you want to go and join the white moon again?” She reached up, wiping at her eyes and sighing, nodding again. “Well. I’ll do what I can to help you. I’ll do whatever I can.”
The blonde pulled away from Ophelia and turned back to the cookies, adding in the raisins into the batter and turning the mixer on for a moment to assure that they were all the way through the cookies.
She turned the mixer off and sighed, not turning to look at the other girl again. “You know, I hate the Negaverse too. A lot of us do. They’re monsters. If you’re going to leave, at least let me give you the love of a family before you go. It’s the least I can do after we’ve taken so much from you.”

"Where would that get me? Joining the White Moon would not give me my life back. Besides, do we even know what attempting that would do to my Starseed? You hear a lot about side-swapping, not so much about it happening twice. For all I know the process could prove fatal. I have looked into it, but nobody seems to have any answers, not even White Moon Royalty, just a bunch of theories... It might not even be possible. Even if it was..."
She sighed and folded her arms, she had no plans on leaving the court, not unless she had no other options. "I am pretty much stuck like this, but as long as Jett does not try and stop me then there is no need to find out, but for now he has given my mission his blessing. I did not expect him to, and that is why I left." She shrugged, it was all so complicated - talking about Jett she needed to really talk to him after that meeting. He would be expecting her no doubt. Her heart ached at the thought, of how different his Court Persona was. The man who had cornered her on the rooftop, and the man who stood there infront of everyone, could they really be the same people?
"A lot of you do hate them, but if that is the case why am I standing alone? Jett has tried to explain the politics of it all, the consequences, the risks. All I know is that whilst I am trying to take action, and my family is nowhere to be seen because they risk to lose too much." Placing her fingers on the bridge, she sighed and grabbed a tray off the side, placing the baking parchment on the top of it ready to have the balls of dough places on it.
"I am just so tired Raven. So tired of every last thing being a struggle."
