The excited little Freshling made his way down the halls, adjusting the different straps of the bags he was carrying as he went. Normally he would be feeling bogged down by this sort of things, but he was on cloud nine after the first Garden Club meeting had ended. He wanted to talk to Mr. Corben all about it! About the kids that had shown up and their first group project they did together! Maybe even ask him for some suggestions and such as well! It had gone better than he had even hoped to dare to dream it would be! And yet, as the duffle bag hanging off his small form was beginning to shift again, pulling on some feathers caught between himself and the strap, he didn't even notice someone right in front of him as he struggled to bring the rebelling bag under order once again! "Oof!" he let out as he bumped into the other body, backpedaling a couple steps as he tried to keep his balance. A heated blush took its normal place on his face as he looked up to utter his apology. "I'm super sor-- Mr. Corben!" he said excitedly, forgetting his blunder for a moment... until the pinched feathers of his wings moved and reminded him he was a bit stuck. "I was.. err... actually coming to talk to you~" he said softly, but a wince from pain causing him to turn his back to the teacher standing there. "C--could you help me get unstuck? My feathers got caught in the strap and it hurts..." He felt so silly for asking, but he did all the same.nepsah Hope this is okay! the poor boy can be hopelessly clumsy

Corben had just finished with his last class of the day, a rambunctious group of Juniors that he was trying to guide through a hunt for essential oils. Hopefully they'd been listening in between their antics, since there was going to be a test on what they'd covered! Ah well. He was rather lost in thought as he walked down the hall - headed towards his green house - and so didn't notice the little pink freshling until Malachi quite literally bumped into him.
Surprised, he backed up a couple of steps as well, blinking down in confusion as he tried to figure out what had just-- oh! Malachi! The sweet little Fallen who'd wanted to start a Garden Club. "Oh! Hello Malachi, it's quite alright!" He laughed, then stepped a bit closer to gently help untangle him from his bag. "Theeere you go... that looked very, very uncomfortable... What is it you wanted to talk about?" He tilted his head, grinning widely as he righted himself again.

Malachi was so relieved. Relieved that he hadn't hunt Mr. Corben during their run-in, and even more so when his feathers were free. He turned around and gave a big smile to his teacher. "It really was. Thank you, for helping me, Mr. Corben~" and for a small moment, when his teacher asked him what he needed, he had to stop and think. A blank look came over his face. The freshling had been so excited about something, then it was all just gone!
"Oh!" he let out excitedly, then quieted himself as he realized how loud he had been. "I remember now. I wanted to tell you about Garden Club! Our first meeting was today and I wanted to let you know how it went... and..." he said, lacing his fingers together as he swayed back and forth a bit. "Maybe ask you for some suggestions with what to do for other meetings? I didn't really think there'd be so many kids today, and didn't plan all that far ahead..." He gave a nervous chuckle, reaching up to scratch his cheek.

"You're very welcome, Malachi. I can only imagine that hurts a lot, haha, it hurts my tail when I get it caught." He giggled a bit. It wasn't very often that his tail got caught, being that it was so small, but it still happened on occasion. He watched Malachi, waiting to see what it was that he'd wanted in the first place... Oh, he knew that look. The look of someone who was trying to remember what they'd come for in the first place. He could wait!
He blinked, then clapped his hands together with a wide grin. "Oh! That's lovely!" He honestly was pleased to hear that the Garden Club had taken off so nicely! Leif had mentioned going, but he hadn't heard from any other students of his about whether or not they'd be popping in... But that was something else to think about - Malachi wanted suggestions.
"Of course! I'd be happy to help you figure out some activities to do. I was just on my way out to the greenhouse to water the plants, do you want to come along? We can talk while we take care of them!" He quirked a brow and tilted his head. He figured that Malachi would want to come, but just in case he had other things to do, he might as well ask!

The freshling gave an ever so grateful smile to Mr. Corben. He was certainly one of his favorite teachers because of how kind he was to him. And as his teacher related to him in the experience of getting caught and pain, Malachi winced. Ouch. That sounded like it would hurt even more than feathers getting caught. He shuddered before they moved onto the reason that brought him here in the first place.
The excitement from his teacher made his own all the more so. The fact that Mr. Corben supported the club meant the world to him. Malachi smiled happily at the invitation. He felt bad for interrupting his teacher's plans, but the chance to help take care of the greenhouse plants and get more ideas for the club made him not feel as bad. Giving an excited nod, Malachi took to the place at his teacher's side and waited for him to lead on.nepsah years later.... sorry nep >> <<;a

"Great!" Corben flashed one of his usual smiles and then started off toward the greenhouse. Once there, he opened up the door and waited for Malachi to enter before he shuffled on in behind him and closed it again. "Lets see... Everything on the left side needs a cup of water and one packet of food each." He nodded as he crossed the room to the back of it where all of the supplies were kept. He opened up the cabinet and then got out the box of plant food, as well as two watering cans.
"Mostly I just estimate how much water I'm giving them, but I have one with the measurements on the side so you can see how much you're pouring in!" He turned on the sink, and then filled up both cans - Malachi's only half way so he could still use it easily. He then turned and then held the can out for him to take. "If you go a little over it's perfectly fine. I always calculate a little wiggle room on the watering, haha."

Excited for the chance to help his teacher care for the plants in the green house, Malachi hurriedly followed after him. It took a little extra effort on his part because he wasn't really used to walking with an adult for the most part, so his little feet had to pick up the pace. As Mr. Corben held the door open for him, Malachi shuffled right inside.
As instructions were given to him, Malachi nodded with a smile. He quickly found a place to lay his stuff down and accepted a watering can. It was a really neat one. He liked the fact that the measurements were shown on the side! Smiling brightly, Malachi flitted his wings. "Okay Mr. Corben! I shall do my best!"
Readjusting his hold on the watering can, he then made his way to the left side and began to water the plants. After he watched the first couple like a hawk, the little fallen began to feel more at ease with his teacher's plants. "So Mr. Corben... What kind of stuff do you think we should do in the Gardening Club? I really didn't think so many people would show up... It was really cool that they did~" And he continued down the outer row of plants until he ran out of water. He skittered back to the sink, and up on his tip-toes, did his best to try and refill the watering can.nepsah there was a response that got lost in the stars. the republic tried to destroy what was left of the words, but the rebel alliance managed to save them just in the nick of time. now, only time would tell if those words would reach their destination... don't mind me... i'm a dork XD

Corben watched as the small fallen made his way around the room for a few moments, then set about watering his own section. Occasionally he glanced over to make sure that Malachi was managing alright, but for the most part he ended up getting sucked into his work - it was just so hard not to get drawn in by the plants! They were like his little green children, after all.
The question took a moment to register in his head, but when it did, he hummed aloud, thinking... "Ooh I'm glad you had a good turnout~." He responded, still thinking... Activities to do.. A good one could be some identification activities -- although it was a gardening club. "I suppose that depends on what sort of activities you wanted to cover in your club! Are you sticking to more domestic plants, that we commonly find in gardens... or do you also want to get involved with the more wild kinds, too? Like the sort of thing you'd find in a forest?" He glanced over to Malachi, one brow raised. "Because there are very different activities for both!"
