The volcano set within the heart of the Fire lands was quiet. While the community down below was slowly building itself up more and more every day with new Fire B'alam awakening, the large and looming mountain stayed dormant, not even the slightest stream of smoke appearing. Fire Tribers were currently without a leader, but even without the presence of one, they knew their general and basic purposes. They were large cats that housed the domain of Fire within their very souls, their physical bodies being able to withstand immense amounts of heat that normal creatures couldn't even dare to come close to. The Grand Weaver had given this tribe a perfect home, nestled within a mountain range and at the base of a large volcano.

Unbeknownst to the tribe members though, the volcano was not as dormant as it appeared. Within it's rocky walls, the Grand Weaver had placed the Fire Tribe's leaders, their awakening coming in due time. One was a large, red, black, and white male, black locks adorning his ruby head. The other, a multi-browned female, also with black locks, a vibrant stripe of purple throughout it. Without so much as a notice from the Fire B'alam living out their daily lives, a tiny trail of smoke began to form from the top of the volcano, signaling the coming of their leaders.

The smell of the volcano's sulfur was the first thing to hit her nostrils. The strong, terrible stench of something rotting. It was awful, yet strangely comforting at the same time. She took a moment to inhale the small hints of her surroundings.

'Smelly stuff.

Hot stuff.

Something else ... stuff?'

Unmistakably there was something else in the area with her. It was something she could feel more than just smell. It was a strange feeling, like something was pushing her forward. Yet she wasn't even moving?

Slowly she allowed her eyes to crease open and reveal her surroundings. It was ... pretty dark.

Oh. Wait. Raising her head slightly, it allowed her eyes to focus. She had awoken into a corner?

How strange. Blinking in bewilderment she took a slow gaze around her. Things quickly began to light up with the deep glow of lava pulsing through the volcano's pipes. It was almost as though she herself could feel the lava pulsing. The feeling gave her a bit of a shiver as she pushed herself to her shaky paws.

As interesting and amazing as this all was, what was consuming most of her thoughts was that strange feeling from before.

She just didn't quite know what was causing it.

Sitting on the other side of the large and densely heated 'room' was the large ruby colored male. He had been placed slightly slumped up against the rocky side of the natural wall, extreme heat seething off of the rock's ridges. He groaned slightly as he began to came to, black eyelids squinting and then fluttering open, burnt orange pupils taking in it's first looks of the world.

Needless to say, the world didn't look very impressive... At least not to the average B'alam.

Fiery orange iris' seemed to light up as they took in the rocky interior of the room. Little lava trails beaded along the walls, looking like orange and red sparkles. Larger rivers of lava flowed down ever so smoothly from the opposite side of the room as the male, carving paths alongside the walls in which they fell and down from one side of the room to the other. They then disappeared into some holes on both sides, freely pouring out into other molten carved trenches within the volcano.

After a few minutes of his eyes just breathing in the glorious view of the room he had awoken in and the luxurious smells of burning sulfur filling his nostrils, the ruby male finally realized that he was not alone. Across the way from him, there was... Another? At least he presumed it was another. However, it was different than he. It was a brown and furry creature, horns adorning her head just as his own. However, this creature was quite a bit smaller than him, a more slender look to her body. Raising an eyebrow, very curious, the B'alam spoke his first words.

"Are you rubbing your face on the wall?"

A light squeal escaped the female's body as the other's unexpected presence appeared behind. She hadn't even been on this ... this thing, for a solid ten minutes and already she was doing great! Attempting to pull herself together, she quickly turned her head to meet the other's attention. Succeeding in rubbing her horn sharply against the gritty base of the wall.

"What?!

NO!

I was ...."

Frantically searching for a reason, she pulled her attention to the irritation in her horn.

"SHARPENING MY HORN!"

Nodding matter of factly, she dipped her head to him in a curt way. "Can't I sharpen my horn without being questioned?!"

Stamping her paw on the ground, she stared straight into the male's eyes. The smell of sulfur weaving in and out of her nostrils as she tried not to look anymore ridiculous.

It had officially been ten minutes, and here she was officially not smart.

Right about to speak, the feminine creature suddenly raised her voice, making it very well known that she was 'SHARPENING HER HORN'. Taken aback just a bit, the male blinked a couple of times, shaking his head as his ears had ringed just ever so slightly. Deciding to give her some time to perhaps finish... 'Talking', he merely sat and waited. Once she stamped her paw into the ground, that had not done a thing wrong to her in this situation mind you, the male took his opportunity to speak once more.

"Chill, lady. Chill."

The ruby male took a drastic turn. He sat up on his haunches and raised his front paws in the airspace above him, giving the... Umm.. Odd female he was confronted with a concerned and perhaps slightly crazed look.

"My apologies if I've offended you, my lady."

He gave a coy and toothy grin, continuing to sit up and look completely ridiculous... Seeing as how cats just weren't meant to sit up on their back haunches.

'Chill?'

Did he just tell her to chill?!

Tilting her head even further to the side, she looked at his quizically almost as if daring him to say it again. But he didn't, he merely sat back and stared at her. Like she was some sort of oddity to be observed or something.

She was beginning to feel uncomfortable, a tough lump was forming in her throat. She could feel the indignant words forming deep in her chest, but they were stopped dead in their tracks at his next words.

He was apologizing? Well, that was definitely strange to say the least of it. He hardly knew her, she wondered if he had only just awoken as she had. Or if he had been here long enough to be wiser than he looked.

"Oh - Um .. Apology accepted." She nodded, at him with a strangely creepy smile.

"So, what is this place? Have you been here long, or you only as young as I am?"

He couldn't quite pinpoint it, but this brown and fuzzy lump of female feline made him smile. Watching her c**k her head to the side almost to the point of looking like her neck was snapped, a silly grin took over his muzzle, replacing the coy one. She was being utterly ridiculous, but it seemed to ignite a tiny flame within his already burning heart. He couldn't explain it, but he wasn't going to complain about it either. It was a nice feeling.

"This place is... I'm not entirely sure." He let his ruby body fall, once more retaining the look of a proper space cat. Fiery pupils looked around the cavern the two of them had awoken within, breathing in the burning scents that clung to the thin air around them. "I feel like... This is... Home?" Was that the right word? He was... Unsure. It seemed to flow off his tongue though, fitting into his sentence like the piece of a puzzle. It just simply worked. "I do believe I've only been here for as long as you. I do not recall any moments before you, or this cavern for that fact. I feel as if we are connected, or shall be if we are not already. Do you feel the same, my lady?"

Was calling her 'my lady' proper? He was unsure, but it seemed right.
