The wail of an alarm from a boutique faded into the night blocks away, and Carnotite smiled, enjoying the feel of the new purse on her arm, a new dress and pair of shoes tucked away safely within it. Hey, she had to do something for her holiday shopping without a heavy income. She'd also hit up a high-end home decor store, and had a bag containing a luscious pillow and fluffy blanket for a particular feline. Fancy collars just didn't quite seem befitting, so she opted for comfortable perch and sleeping materials. She'd even kept them in darker tones of royal purple with silver accents, just to match whatever decor of the room Soyala might have wanted them in within the castle--or at least she hoped would match.

The half-youma frowned slightly, wondering if she should somehow make it clear she could get the guardian other ones if the colors didn't work. Oh but how do you tactfully tell someone you can return gifts? Or rather in this case, figure out some other way to use the gifts and get new ones.

Decisions, decisions... she never did like the turmoil of political tact. Which, in this case, is exactly what the situation was. Making sure she played her cards right to keep a potentially useful friend around. Plus? Carnotite was a cat person. Soyala was precious. The lieutenant had no qualms trying to buy the guardian's affection.

All her thoughts brought her through an empty miniature park outside a nicer apartment complex, complete with a few benches here and there. Setting her prizes down for a moment, she fixed her hair that had become a bit wild and tossed about her lightbulbs during the commotion of getting out of the store. Her lights mingled with the holiday displays around her, and for a moment she gave a wistful look at how the electricity looked to her third eye. Almost more breathtaking than what her normal eyes saw. All she needed was a little snow, and it'd be a wonderful, pretty little night. As Carnotite let herself focus on the energy signatures around her, dancing through the city like fireflies, she wondered the... practicality of lingering. She didn't want to risk her prizes getting dirty after all... hm.

This was Gwales' first real patrol, and so far it had been a quiet one. Which made her happy. Walking along the streets of Destiny City, she had yet to encounter any monsters or Negaverse people. She kept glancing around, trying to see if she could spot anything out of the ordinary, but so far there had been nothing of any note, mostly people going about their business shopping for the holidays. (That reminded her -- she was a bit behind on her knitting projects for Christmas gifts. After patrolling she'd go home and curl up with a good audiobook and play catch-up.)

The diminutive Pluto page turned down a nearby alley. She had only started playing with her abilities as a Knight, and was still getting used to the enhanced speed and strength she now possessed. Not to mention the fact that she could leap to the tops of houses. She did that now, jumping easily from the pavement to the roof of a nearby apartment complex. Shangri-la (a fellow Pluto Knight!) had been helpful in figuring stuff out when they had fought that youma and she had first awakened, but she was still uncertain of so many things about being a Knight.

A strange tingling sensation tickled at the back of her mind. What was that? Trotting to the edge of the building, she looked over the small park that was adjacent to the apartments. All she saw were holiday lights scattered amongst the trees and benches. Benches? They typically didn't put lights on benches. Leaping down to the ground, Gwales cautiously made her way toward the bench in question. The tingling sensation grew stronger as she approached. Finally she could see that it was a woman on the bench with lightbulbs on her head. Was she a youma?

"Hello?" she called out. "Who are you?"

The Order signature was not unexpected, though the lieutenant cocked her head a bit. It didn't feel like one of the senshi. It had a different.... tint to it. She figured was the best way to describe it. So she waited, legs crossed and foot tapping in the air.

Now what would this little blip turn out to be~?

She got her answer soon enough--in a fashion, anyways. A girl in a very cute outfit approached, and Carnotite smiled a bit from where she sat. No, not a senshi, she didn't think... a knight? She'd heard about them, but hadn't come across one yet.

She could support curiosity, though, and dimmed the lightbulbs atop her head to not blind the girl. "Hello, pleasant evening, isn't it~?" Her voice was light and friendly. Welcoming, in fact. Come into my parlor, said the spider to the fly. She bowed her head in greeting, placing a metallic hand to her chest. "I am Lt. Carnotite. Whom do I have the pleasure of addressing~?"

Manners, after all. She was curious what little information she could get from this girl. Starting with, of course, what she was. And preferably wouldn't have to worry about her gifts for Soyala getting ruined.

"Out doing some shopping?"

Lieutenant. That meant she was a Negaverse agent! Of all the people for Gwales to encounter on her first patrol. But she remembered the words of Hvergelmir on that bench months ago, that not all of the Negaverse were evil people. Maybe this Lt. Carnotite was one of the ones who wasn't so bad. She certainly seemed pleasant enough. And Gwales was extremely curious about the lightbulb corona on her head.

"I'm Gwales Page of Pluto," the knight replied, nodding her head. "And I'm out shopping, I guess, in a manner of speaking. I seem to have found what I was looking for too." Her posture wasn't aggressive, though; she stood in front of the strange lieutenant with a relaxed stance, demonstrating she meant no harm unless she was provoked first. Not like she had any idea what she would do if Carnotite attacked -- that was one thing she didn't know, how to defend herself in a fight. She wondered now if there was a boot camp for baby knights to teach them these things.

She took a couple of steps closer to the bench where the lieutenant sat. "I don't want to sound rude or anything, but what are the lights on your head? I've never seen anything like them. They're very pretty." She smiled. "If you don't mind my asking, that is," she apologized.

Carnotite repeated the name, and the planet, a few times in her head. She knew about Cosmos knights--sort of--and now here was another to add to her list. She was more fascinated with what made each knight different--why the types, why the... flavors?

The lieutenant chuckled upon hearing the Page was successful in her... shopping. "Oh~? Anything fun?" Her own pose on her bench was relaxed in turn. In fact, she uncrossed her legs to move over, giving the Page room to sit.

Though the idea of being particularly friendly towards Order made her gag, she saw little harm in playing for a while. Particularly if she got a shot at information somehow....

"Oh these little things?" She twittered in her laughter, smiling as she lifted her hands to pat at her hair around the bulbs. "They're part of me, thanks to a gift I received," she murmured, pleased as can be at the attention. "They're a... physical alteration in light of greater power that gift gave me." It was the easiest way to explain it, without just flat-out saying it was due to merging with a youma. After all, Order ninnies seemed to have the worst concept of what it really meant to possess such power...

Gwales thought for a moment, then took Carnotite's invitation to sit next to her on the bench. It was a terrible risk for a new Page to take, but the lieutenant hadn't made any aggressive moves towards her, so she felt it was a risk worth taking. Besides, it was a good way of getting a closer look at her adornments. Lightbulbs!

"Definitely interesting," she answered in response to Carnotite's inquiry about her 'shopping' success. "I never dreamed I would be so successful in finding what I was looking for." She didn't mention that she hadn't particularly been looking for a Negaverse agent -- nevermind found one who was so utterly charming and interesting. She had to remind herself that this was one of the enemy, not some female friend she hadn't seen in ages.

She studied the lightbulbs more closely, also noting the lieutenant's peculiar eyes -- was that a third eye? -- and what looked like gloves on her hands. "What sort of greater power? Not that I want a demonstration," she added, raising her hands. "I truly mean you no harm."
