Bushi found himself looking over all of the supplies that he'd gathered, as well as the small, hand drawn map that he was able to procure for himself from a villager. It was always a test of his patiences and that of others when he visited various villages merely due to who and hwat he was. It seemed that despite the fact that the war was long over there were still those who looked upon him poorly for being Oban. A shame given he hadn't even had any part in the war but what could he do? Not as though he could complain about it when he knew full well that it was his people who had been the agressors. The best that he could do was talk kindly to people, show them that he wasn't a bad guy, and do his best to do business with those who were interested. As for those who wanted to hurl insults and fruit his way... well, that just gave him something to feed to Aatos. Well, the fruit at least, not the insults, those he'd just do his best to shrug off.
"Alright, according to this map it's mostly a straight shot out to a water hole where the kinfa are known to gather. That is where we are heading. We are going to go close to there, set up camp, then see about catching us a kinfa." He told the big turtle who was in charge of carrying everything around. Once they got themselves a kinfa he would be in charge of carrying that around as well since, from what he gathered, the only ones that were tamable were babies. Anyone stupid enough to try to tame an adult was likely to get their face pecked off... or so he'd been told. Given how big he was told the creatures were he was certain that they would only be too happy to eat him. As such he would need to find himself a little one, capture and tame that, and let it grow into a big, fancy bird.
No matter the size what was important was the fact that it was going to have feathers, feathers that could be cleaned up and added to jewelry as accects. It would just be a lot more useful when the bird was bigger since bigger feathers meant more fancy items that he could create... and given all the stuff that he'd gotten from Talin's friend Ouen he would be working on new pieces to sell for some time into the future. He really would have to thank Talin when they met up again. Stretching out his arms over his head Bushi said, "Best that we get moving, we want to make our base came as soon as possible, preferably before nightfall. From what I was told there are more things to worry about out in Tale then grouchy kinfa. Things called witu gather in packs and bother travelers. Just keep your eyes open." He gave the bushi before him the order despite knowing he was a bit on the slow side. At least he was tough though, big too, so maybe he could just stomp a witu?
The journey toward where the flock of Kinfa were supposed to roost was still underway, with Bushi's pink eyes scanning the horizon constantly, looking for the creatures he was hunting. He'd heard great things about them, about their range of colors, their beauty, about how amazing they were to see in flight. It was something that was quite exciting, making him really, really want to see it!
Upon finally reaching their destination he was finally able to. The moment that they got close enough their presence stirred up a group of the birds, causing them to circle around Bushi and Aatos, giving him a change to look them all over, "They weren't kidding were they? Just look at those colors!" They could be quite useful indeed, making him want one of them that much more. Spotting a rocky out croppng he pointed, "Go there, Aatos, I am going to try my hand at this." He told him after gather his weapons, as well as a net. He couldn't use it yet, not when he was told he had to exhaust them first, but he'd do his best to tire them out before he tired himself out. Easier said then done when he wasn't in the best of shape, but he was determined to catch one. With that thought in mind Bushi moved forward, chasing after some of the birds who were still on the ground, causing a few more of them to take to the air out of reach. Wow, they weren't joking, the big ones really were massive, weren't they? He'd definitely need to leave them alone and shoot for the smaller ones.

From where he was standing Bushi was able to see several of the small kinfa on the ground near to the water. They seemed to be on high alert but they weren't taking to the air, likely too young for such things. Those were definitely the ones that he needed to go after. Now to approach, pick one out, and go after it.
Upon getting closer to one of the smaller birds Bushi went charging forward toward it as fast as his stocky body would allow for. He reached out toward the little bird... only to get one of the big ones knocking him over into the dirt. By the time he was able to recover from the blow the little bird that he had been chasing after was long gone. It was something that had him blinking a few times, looking around in hopes of spotting the pretty thing... but with no luck. It seemed that the one he'd gone after, a nice green one, was no longer an option. He'd have to find another one it would seem.
Dragging himself to his feet, as well as dusting himself off, Bushi looked around the area in hopes of seeing what bird he should go after first. At the moment there were still a lot of them, only half of them up in the air, which meant that there were still plenty to chase after. Here was to hoping he had enough stamina he thought to himself as he went huffing forward toward the next group of birds.

Bushi looked from side to side, taking in all of those around him, before spotting a group of three kinfa that weren't all that far from him. There were two big ones and a little one, as well as a group of other little ones just beyond them. It was possible the two big ones were the parents of the rest? A good enough group to go after if you asked him because that amount of chicks have him a good change at getting his hands on one of them. Giving a nod he started forward, slowly at first, before he went into a full charge. The moment he did he found himself thinking that this was a rather good exercise regiment... followed quickly by the thought that he was going to be sore tomorrow. His muscles were going to ache, he'd be exhausted, and it was likely he'd need to refill his water stores since he was sure to drink a lot of what he had after so much running!
Eyes on the prize, Bushi! He couldn't let himself get tired before the hunt had really, truly began! He had to keep himself moving, couldn't think about tomorrow and how sore he'd be, and instead just had to focus on the here and now. As he did focus on the here and now, and the birds there before him, they all scattered up into the air and away from him. The big ones at least, leaving him to look toward the group of little ones that were squawking away in front of him. He took one step toward them... onto to get hit in the side by one of the parents, then the other side by the other one. Staggered it took him a moment to regain his footing and by then the little birds were all shuffling off in a group toward another group of kinfa, this one containing a lot more adults then the group he was currently dealing with. Not a good thing as that meant more large, angry birds whacking into him.
Throwing himself to one side he was able to dodge the next attack thrown at him by one of the birds, giving a sigh of relief, before rolling his shoulders, "This isn't an easy task now is it?" He found himself wondering for an idle moment if he was sent out to this particular flock because the villagers he'd been visiting wanted to see the birds beat an Oban senseless. It was something he wanted to consider since it make him less likely to trust the next person that wanted to 'help' him, but he knew that it was possible. If there was a person that held a real grudge against him it was all together possible that they would send him to his death against a flock of large, angry birds. While completely possible though he decided that he wouldn't consider it an option, instead wanting to believe that the man who helped him to find this flock was on his side. One couldn't make any sort of business partners or make any contacts if they looked upon them suspiciously after all.
Well, not until it came time for dealings, then everyone was out to make a profit he thought to himself as he went tromping toward the nearest, smaller, group of kinfa hoping to maybe catch them off guard so that he could go in for the capture. As he did so, and got himself more and more surrounded by the birds, he found himself wondering exactly how he was going to get out of here once he did get himself one of the birds. Surely they weren't going to just let him walk away with one of their squawking young? He supposed that was one of those hurdles that he'd have to deal with once he got there. For the time being he just had to actually figure out how he was going to get at one of the birds and chase a singular one around long enough to tire it out so he could try to net it. On top of that how was he going to tire them out without tiring himself out?
Good questions, the sort without answers, but still he continued to move forward in his attempts. He couldn't slow down because he knew full well that the moment slowed down he was going to want to plop down and take a nap... a terrible idea given where he was. The moment he sat down he'd become bird chow, so best that he kept himself moving, even if exercise was most certainly not Bushi's friend.

As the birds that he had been approaching scattered, some into the sky and some off into the taller grass, Bushi gave a sighing sound, "Phew... I think I might be getting closer?" He wasn't sure if that was the case but he wanted to tell himself that, just to get himself motivated to keep going forward toward his goals of getting his hands on one of the birds. They were quite lovely, all of them so brightly colored, and he would really be happy with any one of them. Looking from side to side he saw another group to pursue and he did just that, turning on an angle to rush along toward them.
As he huffed along he found himself thanking his lucky stars that he wasn't born some sort of predator animal. He tended to trade for all of his meals, only rarely fishing or foraging, meaning that if left to his own devices he'd likely starve to death. Running around in circles, not really getting too close to his prey, only solidified in his head how very important it was that he continue to put his all into trading and making his business contacts. This was most certainly not something he could do daily, it would likely kill him, and as such he'd leave it to the professionals.
Reaching out toward another of the birds he nearly had it... only to end up tripping over a rock he hadn't noticed. He went down in a heap and the bird went racing away, disappearing into the tall grass before him. Back to square one he was forced to pick himself back up and prepare to start all over again.

A winded Bushi made his way over to where Aatos was standing, seemingly watching as the Oban raced back and forth like a janarim pup chasing a ball. He leaned against the large turtle for a moment, gasping for a breath, before reaching for his water skin which he took a long draw off of, "Seems they're a lot faster then I fist anticipated. I shold have known since they can fly after all." He muttered between drinks of water, replacing the water skin, before he turned around to look at the birds once more. A few of them were still circling overhead, watching Bushi and Aatos, while the rest had settled odwn again. He found himself studying them closely before pushing away from Aatos, "Alright time for round... hmm... I don't know, I think I might have lost track."
Turning to look at Aatos he said, "If one comes close to you catch it." He told the bushi before he started forward once more. While he didn't really think that Aatos stood a better chance then him one never knew. Maybe they would think that he was just a big, strangely colored rock and try to hide under him? It would certainly make his job a whole lot easier if Aatos caught a kinfa for him. Easier, but when was anything ever easy? One had to work hard if they wanted to get anywhere in life and that likely included things like beast taming. Giving a grumbling sound he said, "I don't know how the beast masters do this sort of thing day in and day out. They must all be incredibly ripped." He was a touch envious of that... but at the same time didn't really want to become that way himself. Sure, being all muscular would be nice, but at the same time Bushi really, really liked sleeping in and eating tons of sweets. He was more then certain that the two things wouldn't really mesh... so he'd leave looking all muscular to those who didn't like naps as much as Bushi did.
Spotting a few nearby kinfa, mostly baby ones with a single adult in the mix, he started in their direction as quickly as his feet would take him. That seemed to be the best bet that he had for splitting some of the smaller kinfa away from the group and, if he were lucky, he could herd them away. If he did that then the chances of actually catching up with the little things would be better, "Alright, little birds, time for one of you to come with Bushi." He said, rushing along toward them. He wasn't a greedy man, he would be more then happy to just catch one of them! Especially given how big they got. He wouldn't really need more then one of them when it came to gathering the feathers to use for various items he meant to make out of said feathers.
Pushing himself forward with a burst of speed he was able to scare the big kinfa up into the air, leaving him with just some little ones to contend with. He looked the group over before racing toward them, doing his best to herd them away from the other big kinfa as well as away from the tall grass. It would be a wasted effort if they were able to get to the grass and disappear after all. As such he would need to keep them moving, so as to tire them out, but also keep them from reaching any nearby places they could possibly hide in.
As he moved along, doing his best to keep the group moving, he lost a couple of them here and there. There was a part of him that wanted to go after them, to get them back with the group, but he knew he'd likely lose them all of if he tried to chase the stragglers. No, he had to focus on what was ahead of him! His kinfa, the one he'd been seeking since coming to Tale, could very well be in front of him! As such he had to focus. As his eyes ran across the group of little kinfa he found himself admiring the rainbow of colors, wondering which one it was that he might get to call his own. He wasn't sure, but really he'd take any one of them since they were all quite lovely.
"Alright, come on Bushi... just a little longer." He encouraged himself, feeling himself slowing a bit. Come on, he couldn't be slower then little birds, could he? Well, he supposed that it was possible, but he didn't want to consider it. Instead just doing his best to try to keep up even though his legs and lungs were starting to burn a bit.

Bushi did his best to keep his breathing even, not wanting to sound like a wheezing old man. He wasn't that out of shape, nor was he that old! He could do this! Cheering himself on mentally he kept the kinfa moving ahead of him, ever further away from the main part of the flock. From time to time he would look over head, to check on the birds that were still circling overhead. He knew that they would likely come for him if he grabbed one of the kinfa before the right time, as such he would need to time it right. He'd need to tire the creature out, scoop it up, and then run for his life.
"I should have just tried trading for one." He muttered to himself. It had been tempting, it really had, but at the same time it was hard for him to do. He knew that there was a profit to be had if he got his hands on a kinfa... but at the same time he also knew that if he caught the kinfa himself that he would save a great deal. The birds were difficult to catch, difficult raise, and might very well fly away and leave him if he failed to raise it right. He'd of had to pay a great deal for one that was already caught and trained by someone else, something that would bite a big chunk out of his profits. As such he just couldn't do it.
Which lead him out here and had him chasing kinfa in circles in an attempt to catch one, something he had yet to do despite many attempts... He hadn't done it yet, but he was determined! He'd get his kinfa, then he'd run as fast as he was able to do on his tired legs, away from the flock and to safety!

By the time that Bushi had gotten the group of little kinfa cut away from the main flock, as well as herded away from the tall grass where they would be easy to lose he was down to only having three of them left to chase after. There was a brilliant blue one, a bright yellow one, and a deep pink one, all of which were colors that were quite pleasing to the eye. He would really be happy to catch any one of them, but he couldn't really count his kinfa before they were caught. He couldn't really saw how long he'd been at this, chasing around birds, getting tackled, kicked, and pecked by them, as well as tripping over the terrain that he wasn't used to. He was battered and bruised, but he knew he was getting close! He just had to keep moving forward!
"Alright... you know... we won't have to run in any more circles if one of you just volunteers to be my kinfa... no more running around for anyone!" More importantly there would be no more running around for Bushi! He'd get to go back to Aatos, sit down, get a drink and meal, while celebrating his success. No such luck though, if anything his pleas to the birds to slow down and give up just had them running faster, as though they were wanting to spite him or something! Sighing a little he continued to move forward, though he knew that he likely looked like a wreck. He was sweating, which made his skin sticky, and he was running around like a mad man kicking up dust. The dust was sticking to his sweat, making him feel both muddy and itchy, it really was a pain... but he'd get himself cleaned up later. He couldn't let his opportunity slip away because he was feeling grimy.
If nothing else at least he was far enough from home that he didn't have to worry about any of his clients among the nobles seeing him in such a sorry state. While there were a few he might be able to win over with his plans for the kinfa there were others, mostly the women, that would turn up their nose at him for being so dirty. How happy he was that he was in Tale and that they were all very, very unlikely to ever end up in this place he thought to himself as he hopped over one rock, then another, stumbled on the third, but was able to catch himself. Eesh, this place really wasn't on his side, was it? It was as though the very rocks themselves didn't want him catching the birds. No matter though, he would go against even the rocks if it meant getting his bird!
One of the birds, the yellow one, suddenly turned on a ninety degree angle, racing off away from Bushi and back toward where the big group of kinfa were located. He turned his head, watching as it escaped, before he turned to look toward the pair in front of him, "Alright... we are down... to two..." He huffed out as he continued forward after the remaining too, keeping an eye on the pair, "I will... catch one of you... soon enough!"
Hurrying forward he herded the two birds away from another large tuft of grass that they might have been able to escape into, pushing them ever further away from the bigger birds. While he could feel his own strength starting to waver a little, feeling himself slowing down, he could tell that the pair before him were slowing as well. They too were tired, meaning he had a good chance now to close the ground between himself and them. Wait, wait! They were tiring! That meant that he was going to be able to use his net soon!
His hands moved to his waist, untying the net from where it was hanging, and set to work untangling it. This would be his chance! He just had to untangle the knots in his net, close a bit more ground between himself and the birds, and he would be able to take a shot at them! He really was going to have to thank the man that he traded for the net if he were able to use it right and get himself a kinfa with it. He was also going to have to thank the one that had given him the directions. Dragging in few breaths he pushed himself forward in a final push to close the ground between himself and the final two birds.
