There wasn't an herb in sight and the young mare had traveled out as far as she could to see if any new ones grew further down the forest path. There was nothing and it made her worry that she might have to travel out even further just to find anything fresh. She didn't like wandering too far from her grove because it meant she could run into horrible beasts. She wasn't the type to go out and meet a whole bunch of new individuals. She was more the type to stay in and work on her medicine. Whenever her little animal friend got injured she would heal them right up so that they could be on their merry way again. She hated seeing them hurt. It was one of the few things that really pained her emotionally.
As she picked the very last herb that she could see, she let out a small sigh. "Go scout ahead.." She whispered to one of her bird friends as she watched it flutter ahead of her. She soon followed when she heard a chirp. It let her know that the area was okay. This continued until she was far out into an open plain. She never went this far and it was causing her to panic a little bit. She was used to being enclosed by the forest and being surrounded by many trees. She wasn't use to open areas where she could be seen by anyone. She breathed harder and looked around for her furry critters seeing they were looking at her with a worried gaze. "Go back to the grove..get my sister..she will help.." She knew her sister was more inclined to come out this far compared to her. She watched them all scatter before trying to keep her feet grounded.
It was bad. She could see her vision blurring and her legs felt like they were going to give out on her. She didn't know what to do. She gave a weak flap of her wings to try and calm herself, but it wasn't working.
Before she could really figure out what was going on, her vision went black and her body fell to the ground with a thud.

Kerberos loved to wander the forest. It was quiet. No two leggers... No herds. Just the plants and the animals that inhabited the forest. There was time to reflect on things and just relax. Kerberos never felt like he had to worry about the day to day struggles, when he wandered the forest.
That was until he heard a very solid sound, of what what he suspected was someone, or something, hitting the ground.
His ears perked upwards, carefully listening for any noises as he slowly progressed towards the sound. Brightly colored eyes surveyed the surroundings until he came to the open plain, where his eyes floated towards the fallen form. One ear fell in confusion as Kerberos blinked. Not the best place to collapse. Would be easy to spot though, which... may or may not be a good thing. Still he drew closer. His tail swished lazily behind him as he moved closer.
It was a mare, he found. He blinked once more, curiously. Something on the edge of his mind kicked in. Plaguing him with a feeling he couldn't quite grasp. She looked... familiar, in some ways. Different in others. Snorting, Kerberos frowned as he circled her. Leaning his head down, he nudged her neck with his muzzle gently. Her scent even tormented him, leading on the feeling that he knew her. But... Who was she?
Kerberos had spent the last few months traveling by himself. She couldn't have been someone he'd met in passing... Could she? No. That didn't seem right. He would have surely remembered a familiar face like that. But then that still begged the question of... Who was she? The wolf's eyes narrowed as he tried to think. Trying to dredge up old memories. As he tried to remember, he found his gaze drawn to her hair. The color was oh so familiar... And the rose. He had known someone with hair like this.. from years ago. But there was no way it could be that same mare could it?
"Galadel??"

Gala del thought she heard a voice. A familiar voice that was pulling her out of the darkness an bringing her to the light. She perked her ears up more trying to determine which way the sound was coming from. He was close and the way he said her name was personal. It was like he knew her. It was almost as if they knew each other well. She slowly opened her eyes feeling a calmness sweep over her heart that she hadn't felt in so long. She let out a small groan as she lifted up her head trying her hardest to focus her vision on the figure in front of her. They were blurry and she couldn't make them out. She closed her eyes again and shook her head a little bit before reopening them. She gasped when she noticed who it was. This was someone she knew very well. Someone she could never truly forget and someone she didn't really thing she would ever see again. But here he was standing there before her looking so good and so manly. The perfect stallion in her eyes.
"Kerberos..." She said softly as she slowly to her feet. It took her a moment to regain her composure and soon her cheeks were flushed a bright pink. She was embarrassed that she probably looked a mess in front of him. She passed out and felt horrible that he saw her in such a way. It had been a long time since they saw each other and that was a horrible way to rekindle a relationship. "Why...why are you here?" She asked looking at him as she opened her wings and then let them rest on her back once again. She couldn't believe he was there. He of all the stallions in the world was right there in front of her. She use to dream of being with him, but it never turned out that way. She was always seen as the friend though it was mainly her fault. She never told him how she felt and it was the main part of the problem. He didn't know a thing except that she cared for him as a friend. Other then that it was kept in the dark.
"I shouldn't be out this far.." She stepped forward getting right back on the path so she would feel more at ease before turning to him once more. He always calmed her down. He always made her worries go away. "I...I finally found my sister..remember when I use to talk about her? About how I lost her all those years ago? I finally found her..." She spoke with her voice cracking a little bit as tears welded up in her eyes. She had been looking for her younger half-sister for a long time. Kerberos knew this because she would talk about it all the time and then one day she finally found her.
"I'm sorry...I shouldn't be acting this way around you..We haven't spoken in such a long time.." She composed herself and let the tears in her eyes dry up. She took a deep breath and looked away from him knowing full well she was going to regret the next words that were going to leave her mouth.
"Do you want to come to my grove to have tea?"

"So it is you." He replied, when she started to stir and spoke his name. Well, that was something. Just how long had it been since their paths crossed? "What am I here?? I'm here because I heard a noise and decided to find out what it was." He had never expected it to be someone from his past though. Least of all her. "I think a better question would be what are you doing?" His ears twitched backwards, a slight frown formed on his face as he watched her step back onto the path. What difference did it make if she was on a path or not?
Paths could still lead you astray.
"Did you now??" He asked, his tone flattening just a tiny bit. Kerberos could distantly remember Galadel talking about her. All the things they would do together if their paths ever reunited. It seemed the young mare was living up to those dreams after all. "Is it everything you had dreamed it would be then? You finally have your family."
His tail flicked to the side as he shrugged off her comment. "You always acted this way before. Why change that now that we haven't spoken in such a long time?" He asked. Galadel's pose had always confused Kerberos. He had often wondered how she could be so calm.
Her question threw him off however, and the stallion found himself blinking in confusion. "Uuuuuh..." He mumbled, letting his voice drift. Welp, way to be awkward Kerberos. "Sure..." He said slowly.
What was the worst that could happen.

Little did Kerberos know, but Galadel had changed a lot and it was all because of him. She would never blame him for her lifestyle now because she loved every minute of it. It was the only thing she knew and the only thing that really made her happy. She was completely fine with being who she was instead of that carefree mare she once was. "A lot has changed though..." She felt her heart thumping in her chest the more she spoke with him and she could feel her cheeks turning a crimson color. It was nice for the moment even though she knew it was always going to be that way. That longing was always going to be there. She was too shy and lacked the confidence to really tell him how she had felt all these years. "Oh yes the tea. Let's go." She smiled at him as she returned to the path walking slowly towards her grove wondering what she would think of her home. It wasn't anything over the top. It was nice and roomy.
"So what have you been doing all this time? Not getting into trouble right?" She was always worried about him and was afraid he didn't make it after all these years. He was always getting himself in some sort of trouble. "When we get to the grove...don't mind the critters...and don't mind the mess...I haven't organized my herbs today so everything is a little messy." She said shyly as she looked over to him seeing the look causing her to blush once more. She couldn't believe he was in her life again. Even if it was for a few days, she would be happy because he was okay. He was alive and well, which was more then what she had been thinking all this time.
When they finally reached the grove, her animal friends scattered causing her to frown instantly. "Don't worry he isn't going to harm you. He is our guest. Remember I told every one of you that one day we would have a guest? Don't be shy, he is an old friend of mine." She spoke softly to them all seeing various animals peek their heads out of the bushes and behind things. The grove wasn't messy at all. Herbs were hanging from tree branches and she had everything pretty organized already. She was nervous and wanted to please him any way she could. "Well these are my friends..there are too many to count and there is always a new animal each day." She nodded and smiled at Kerberos wondering what he would say before remembering the tea again. "Oh!" She scurried off to the side and leaned down. "We need two Jasmine teas." She spoke to one of her raccoons seeing the animal run off causing her to turn to the stallion with her.
"Welcome to my home."

"If you insist." Kerberos was willing to admit that some things had changed, yes. But what had changed? From the sound of it, it had been Galadel. That was a good thing right?
It was probably better than not changing.
"I don't know. Define trouble for me and I'll let you know." He said, as he followed her back to the path. "Wandering, mostly. Nothing grand, here and there places really. It had just been a while since I'd been back here." One of his ears swiveled and dropped. Critters? Ah, so she was still making friends with the local fauna. "Ah, I don't mind them. I've got this fox that seems to follow me around." Though Kerberos wasn't sure where the little imp had gotten off to this time. "I'm sure it's not that messy." How complicated could sorting and organizing herbs be? He really had no idea.
When the smaller creatures scattered, Kerberos shifted his weight awkwardly, with a flick of his tail. He blinked, as they started to creep out and Kerberos instantly amended an earlier thought. Forget organizing herbs. He wondered how Galadel kept track of all these animals. "And I thought my one was a handful..." He said slowly, wondering just how she did it.
"It's very... you. Er, I mean, it suits you." Just shut up Kerberos. Just. Shut. Up. "Thank you, for inviting me."
